September 11, 2011, started like every normal day in New York City. People rushing to work, children going to school, and people taking a morning walk or jog. But no one knew that this day would turn into a horror film. A terrorist organization call al-Qaeda hijacked airplanes and hammered them into the World Trade Centers North and South Tower along with the Pentagon in Washington D.C. September 11, 2001 (herein referred to as 9/11) was a day in American history, which will be remembered as the most horrific attack on American soil. This attack, carried out by nineteen Islamic extremists, was associated with al-Qaeda, and involved the hijacking of four airplanes. Two of those airplanes were hijacked and flown directly into the World Trade Center in New York City, New York. The third plane’s target was the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the fourth plane was brought down in Pennsylvania where it is believed the passengers aboard fought the hijackers. This horrific day in history cost over 3,000 people their lives, and was labeled the worst attack on American soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II.

On September 11, 2001, there was a terrorist attack against the United States. Hijackers flew a jetliner into each of New York’s World Trade Center towers. Simultaneously, a third jetliner crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia. Due to these horrific events, thousands of people were killed. In response to the attacks, the United States declared a “War on Terror.” However, the actions of the U.S. did not come without criticisms from the people of the nation.

Many people can look back and remember September 9th, 2001, like it was yesterday. This day will be forever remembered in America’s History. This is the day the world seemed as it stood still. On 9/11, America experienced a major terrorist attack, which hijacked planes were crashed into the World Trade Centers in New York City, crashed into the Pentagon in the District of Columbia, and had a plane crash into the fields of Pennsylvania.

September 11th, 2001 is one of the worst moments that has ever happened for America. With the Death Toll of Approximately 3,000 people, 400 of them firefighters and Police Officers, this day is often remembered with memories of fear. I think that this is one of the most influence events in America’s History for many reasons. First, because of the death toll. Second, because of how it affects life even today.

Here is a question I ask people from time to time to people after I have a feel for the person, “Where were you on the morning of September 11th, 2001 at 8:46am? Well for me I was just finishing a 3.1-mile run (5K) at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. For all you none military types of people who have never visited one of America’s amazing cities it is home to the US Navy’s West Coast Special Operations community. And let it be known I was not a Navy SEAL, SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant Craftsmen) Operator or an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) technician. I worked SEAL Team 5 as part of the support staff. Granted when the Platoon I was assigned to deployed, I was wheels up with the team. As I got back into the locker room at my command I remember looking up at the television and seeing that a plane had just hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Now from time to time I would remember hearing about a little single engine plane flying off its course and getting close into Manhattan; so at that moment that is what was going through my head at that exact moment. Well after I got out of the shower at 9:06am I heard that another airplane hit the South Tower. Now being from New Jersey and knowing the travel restrictions that surround New York City; at that exact moment I started to come to the realization that our Nation may be under attack. When 9/11 happened I had no clue what was going on all can remember was all these people getting amazed I really did not find out what really did happened un till I was like 6 or 7 and watched the actual videos it was really sad and crazy how people can actually get on plain whit the intentions of killing thousands of people just hearless.whart happened afterwards was people in shock which later turned to paranoia andacuusating the Muslim community. The American government and the American people were just devietatiiong seeing what was happening in American that day that event was all over the world.

At first the kids seemed like they were not going to fall for the trick but the teacher kept enforcing that she was right about brown eyed students

That day, referred to as 9/11, left a stain in the hearts and minds of many Americans. These attacks brought out the hero in a great deal of people, but many heroes died on that day, and those heroes will never be forgotten. Because of this tragic event, millions of American citizens were injured or have had to endure the lasting effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (History.com). This awful event is our hope for the future because it taught us we need to combat terrorism better and we are still fighting this battle today (History.com).
