Leaving behind his luxurious life working for the NSA, Edward Snowden has made the decision of a lifetime. He now sees himself in Russia, after exposing over 200,000 classified documents from the NSA to the public. Russia has temporarily granted him asylum, allowing him to work and travel within its borders. He has been on the run ever since those documents went out to the public, going from country to country, escaping the USs attempts to capture him. He has exiled himself from America, into Russia. His title of a respective computer specialist working for the NSA and CIA has been thrown away, and is now known as a whistleblower. Before this Snowden lead a very wealthy, and healthy life. Living in Hawaii, earning 122,000 a year, and doing what he loves to do, who could argue with that? He made the conscious decision to leave everything behind. He wanted everyone to know what the US government was doing. The government was violating the privacy of millions of Americans. "I don't want to live in a society that does these sort of things … I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded. That is not something I am willing to support or live under." (News ) Instead he exposed the government for what they were doing. He went to the press and revealed to them one of the largest government run data collection programs. The US government did not take kindly to what he had done.
