Whitney Houston was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 9, 1963. She performed mainly gospel and pop. She didn’t play any instruments regularly, but there are some videos on YouTube of her playing piano. She sang I Will Always Love You and I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me). I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) was written about finding someone special for themselves. Dolly Parton wrote, composed, and originally recorded I Will Always Love You. In 1992, Houston recorded it for the soundtrack for The Bodyguard. Whitney Houston was signed by three record labels, Arista Records, Sony Music Entertainment, and RCA Records. Some things that happened during Whitney Houston’s lifetime were that the Vietnam War ends on April 30, 1975.
Alicia Augello Cook was born on January 25th 1981 in New York. Alicia started playing the piano at age seven and began to take piano lessons. She grew up in a single family household with her mother due to her father’s absence at the age of five. Alicia first noticed her passion in music at a very young age and always dreamt of making it big and performing but never thought that it would actually happen. She had a lot of faith and took everything she did very seriously.

While Max dialed 911, her unofficial husband Nick Gordon administered CPR. She was transported to the North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia. They placed her on a ventilator. They pronounced her brain dead, so the family moved her to the Emory University

Ella Fitzgerald made her singing debut when she was 17 on November 21, 1934 at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. She was supposed to go on stage and dance but she was intimidated by a dance duo that went on earlier so she decided to sing a song recorded by the Boswell sisters, which helped her win the first prize. In 1935 she won a chance to perform with the Tiny Bradshaw band and the Harlem Opera house. This is where she met Chick Webb who was the drummer and bandleader. Her mother moved Ella and herself to Yonkers New York, where her long time boyfriend resided. At fifteen, Ella’s mother died and Ella went to live with her aunt. She was very affected by the loss of her mother. Fitzgerald acted out and was sent to reform school, not long after she ran away and lived on the streets independently.

Whitney Houston is a superstar. She works with a lot of people who struggle with additive behaviors. This social exposure has been difficult for her to handle. From media reports, Ms. Houston appears to be very stressed over family matters. She reports that she had a tumultuous marriage; suffering through many years of infidelity and public scandals in addition to the drug and alcohol arrests of her husband. Additionally, Whitney has been embroiled in another legal battle with her father for failure to settle a $100 million debt she owed his company (Whitney Houston, 2011).
Beyonce, is considered one of the most influential women in today’s time. She is one of the most deserving candidates to be in the hip-hop and pop, hall of fame. She is a woman in control. The family was not as well off as they’d hope, but to help with the living expenses, Fitzgerald would take whatever small jobs she could. One of these jobs included being a runner for local gamblers, which was partly due to her naivety towards the situation. Regardless of the family troubles, Fitzgerald loved to dance and sing. She would travel frequently to Harlem to see all the performances that the Apollo Theater had to offer.
