A complex character is someone who is not all good nor entirely bad. Achilles a character in Homer’s Iliad is a complex character due to the fact that he shows character traits such as disrespect, selfishness, and prideful. But he also shows respect, Empathy, and he’s honorable. In the book he shows that he is Disrespectful when he chops off Apollo’s statues head, he was basically trying to say he is better that Apollo and he doesn't really care. He also shows stubbornness when he does not accept the apology from Agamemnon, “Achilles immense pride is revealed as he stubbornly refuses to accept Agamemnon’s gifts.” this shows that Achilles is really full of himself and he does not care about anyone else's feeling.
