Elbert Frank Cox (December 5, 1895 – November 28, 1969) was an American mathematician who became the first black person in the world to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics. He spent most of his life as a professor at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he was known as an excellent teacher. During his life, he overcame various difficulties which arose because of racism. In his honor, the National Association of Mathematicians established the Cox-Talbot Address, which is annually delivered at the NAM's national meetings. The Elbert F. Cox Scholarship Fund, which is used to help black students pursue studies, is named in his honor as well. In 1917 after graduating, Cox joined the U.S Army in World War I.

Wheeler Electrical Supplies, Inc. is a C corporation that used to be owned by four individuals. Good afternoon. I am Brittany Salinas, and today, I am speaking about William Wheeler. He was the 19th Vice President of United States.
I finally caught up to our client, Timothy Foster, near his residence in Jacksonville, Alabama. If you recall, Mr. Foster is the son of co-defendant and State Farm insured Nakeshia Foster. Mr. Foster had been very hard to get in touch with. I finally called his mother and asked her again for her help in having him contact us. We were finally able to meet at a McDonald’s directly adjacent to the sight of the accident.
Stephen Foster is considered “the father of American music”. Foster lived during the romantic musical era during 1815-1910. Foster was born on July 4, 1826 in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania. Foster’s parents were William Barclay Foster and Eliza Clayland Tomlinson. His father worked as merchant in Pittsburgh. Foster was the second youngest out of ten children, but the last child died as an infant leaving Foster being the youngest out of the bunch. Foster’s family came from Scottish and Irish emigrants from both his mother and father. His grandfather, James Foster, served in the Revolutionary war, while his father was a quartermaster and commissioner for the United States during the War of 1812.

My journey as Nathaniel Wheeler wad certainly very interesting. For the most part, I just stayed in my lane and did what I was told, because I didn't want to get in trouble with anybody. As for the political side of things, I feel as if I stayed more loyal with the Patriots, though I wasn't nearly as hateful toward the Loyalists as others had been. At the end, I chose to sail with Solomon, because I did not fullt support the doings of the Patriots, and I had no place back in England with Constance. The Patriots, though they had many of the right intentions, were much too…extreme and they played guilty even when they knew they were apart of the problem. The Loyalists weren't as exaggerated as the Patriots, but they were pushy and quite rude

Joseph W. Holley founded Albany State University in 1903, was originally built to provide elementary education for the black population. The school was also for teacher-training. Holley was inspired to start the school from reading W.E.B. DuBois’s writings in Georgia, about the poor living of blacks. He moved to Albany, Ga to start the school down in the south. The original name of the school was Albany Bible and Manual Training Institute. With Holley plans to start a school, he met Booker T. Washington who encouraged him to fall through with his plans. Into building a black school for the black community.
I will be using Nick Aaron Ford’s article to talk about evolution and how it influenced Africana Studies at institutions. Nick Ford predicted by the year 2000 there wouldn’t be as many black colleges. He though that the black institutions would merge with the predominantly white institutions. Well its 2015 and we still have black institutions that have not merged with other colleges. He argues that to get higher education for blacks we had to be brilliant and stand out. Also a lot of schools didn’t prepare blacks to even get a higher education and into a good college.
For over hundreds of years men have lost their lives fighting for their country and what they believe in. Everyday, the battle ground is enhanced as technology proves to become more hi-tech throughout the many years of war known to man. Back in WWII, service members were not so reluctant to have the same luxuries as we do today during war. The least to say, a legend at his best, LT. Audie L. Murphy fought alongside with the 3rd Infantry Division with only one objective in mind. This battle, The One-Man Stand at Holtzwihr, is a memory to be told and a legend to be lived on.
