I am discussing differences about Amy throughout the book In The After. Amy is innocent and scared when she finds out about the “aliens”. Amy eventually has to gather her courage and go out to scavenge for food. Amy finds a baby and keeps her, but now Amy has more pressure on herself feeding two people. Amy and baby gets taken in after three years by new hope. They thought that new hope was the dream they were looking for. In the beginning of the book Amy is lonely. Amy is alone while her parents are out, and she realizes after watching the news that the world is under attack by “aliens”. Amy knows that Amy is safe for a little while because of the electric fence and solar panels. The only bad thing is, is that Amy is alone, and Amy will
Catherine has changed throughout the book, Catherine Called Birdy because she changed her perspective and self centered personality after having interactions and a change in perspective. For example, the text states, “Thomas says the king, still on his way to London with the queen does not weep but rides with a face of stone, so deeply does he grieve. I wonder if mother of the two boy bandits hanged at Wooton grieves for them. I find I prefer fairs and feasts to hangings.” (Cushman 50) This quote states how Catherine has undergone major changes in the book Catherine Called Birdy she started off in the story being self-centered, spoiled, and bratty. Cathrine shows her true feelings of empathy in this quote because she feels for the mother
Both have gone to school and struggled with it but had different roles when home. Both characters start noticing something different with their public and private/home lifestyles. Amy has a challenge of being the house spokesperson for her mother and still attend school. Richard is different from Amy at home due to the fact that Richard has more of a kid's life compared to Amy's adult responsibilities. Richard has more of a family to surround himself at a table to have dinner and talk, but Amy does not talk about any other family in the story besides her mother and a husband at the beginning of the book.
The writers also focus on different point in their stories. “Mother Tongue” focuses on the prejudices of Amy and her
Their differences are from their fathers and royalty. In Aschenputtel, her father favors the stepsisters and he marries a new wife within the next season. When she goes to the ball, she meets the prince and he follows her home, finally finding her. Whereas in Twelve Months, the main character’s father is not included in the story at all. When she comes back, she meets a farmer. The farmer is considered the royal aspect in this tale. Their differences are what makes the story lines completely different, but have the same concept which is, good wins in the end.
In Ashley Gilbertson’s “The Life and Lonely Death of Noah Pierce,” she talks with the family members and friends of veteran Noah Pierce to find out what led to Noah’s suicide following his service with the United States Army. It is believed that Noah’s experiences in Iraq attributed to him having post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and causing a change in his behavior during and after his service. Additionally in one of the letters to his mother detailing an engagement with enemy contacts and even though he claimed that he came unscathed with no bullet wounds or lost limbs, Noah admits to possibly having traumatic brain injury (TBI) because of that experience (Gilbertson). Exposure to the war environment in Iraq and the murders he committed had a direct impact on Specialist Noah Pierce in which it cultivated his aggressive behavior which caused numerous episodes that spiraled down to Noah committing suicide.
Next, the characters Louise Mallard and Emily Grierson are similar is their own progress throughout the two different stories. At the start of both stories, the writers made it

Throughout plots and themes of stories, characters have a place in the story. Characters can change in novels whether it is good to bad or bad to good. In Kathryn Stockett’s novel The Help many characters change their outlook on life. One of the characters, in particular, that has changed the most is Aibileen. Aibileen has changed throughout the story the novel with her confidence, her actions, and her intelligence.
One difference both characters have is that the grandmother at the end seems to find spiritual peace. At the beginning, she described the misfit as a bad guy, but the moment she touched him, she connected with him and knew he was a
The difference between these two is that May only wanted a friend and with Amy that is what she will get. Furthermore, May will also be like a mother to Amy giving all her the same way a mother will do with their
In the middle of the movie Noah finds out by Allie mother that Allie and her parents want her to go to school in New York. I believe this to be stage five identity vs. identity confusion which happens during the adolescence part of people lives. Allie was trying to figure out who she really was. Allie did everything her parents told her to do because she wanted to please and make them proud of her. When Noah came along I think things changed for her because she was able to be herself around him and she was able to see what she really wanted. I think that trying to be someone for her parents led her to be confused about whom she was and what she wanted. I think that Noah had a better sense of who he was because he had to grow up a lot faster by this I mean he helped his father with the bills and he felt like a responsible adult. When Allie walked into Noah life he knew that he wanted to proved and be with her and let her go and grow in college while he worked. He thought that Allie wanted to go to school closer to where he was so that they can stay together. Yet Allie parents did not want her to be with Noah so they decided for Allie to go away to school in New York and Allie followed what her parents wanted because she was unsure of what she really wanted or how to stand up for it.
In my opinion, I would want the US government to legalize cannabis. So you would ask why? First of all, cannabis has a mountain of benefits: lose weight and fight cancer… And cannabis can use for medical uses and even reduce crime. And cannabis have 2 types which are Indica and Sativa. Indica will make you feel relaxed and it has a full body effect. On the other hand, Sativa will make you get high and it mostly affects your brain and it’s use for boosting your creativity. All of those above are just a small reason why we should legalize cannabis, stop thinking about the dark side, think about how cannabis can help you later on. All hail Cannabis!!!
Along with the rotating viewpoints, the two stories being told, by Amy and Nick, happen at different times through the collective story. I usually dislike this writing method, but in this plot, I think it works well. I like that the two do not tell the same story from different perspectives but rather one tells the story and the other follows with a background perspective that gives some insight as to the reasoning behind the actions and motives of the characters in the present. In the case of this book, Nick is narrating the investigation of Amy’s disappearance as chapters of Amy’s diary chronicle the past relationship between the two counterparts. The two perspectives complement each other, but neither spoil the storyline, as dual perspective books tend to do. For example, Amy often gives us accounts from Nick and Amy’s early relationship. Her discoveries from the dawn of their romance shows how the opposite family structures of the two partners change how act in the present of their relationship: “People say children from broken homes have it hard, but the children of charmed marriages have their own particular challenges” (Flynn 27). The two narrators of the story give a deep understanding of the motives and actions without giving too many details that might spoil the future of the
Nicole’s personality is super shy and, quiet when it comes to new people or people she rarely talks to. However, when it comes to people she likes and enjoys talking to, she is a social butterfly. Amy was never in any a team sport. However, she plays tennis with her cousins for fun. Amy is really sociable and blunt at the same time. I remember a time during lunch there was a table across from us were talking super loud and she shout “shut up”. Amy is not afraid to speak her mind while Nicole is more shy and quiet.
