Literature and books have a great power to influence people in real life. The main source of its power are both the protagonists and the antagonists character traits and actions. In the book Wonder by R. J. Palacio, August, the main protagonist and a child born with medical conditions that make him look different from other kids. He inspires kids with his character traits. August is easygoing, forgiving, and brave. August is easygoing. On page 129 it states, “I really like that Summer. That means in my next life I wouldn’t be stuck with this face.” He pointed at his face when he said that and batted his eyes, which made me laugh. “I guess not.” I shrugged. “Hey, I might even be handsome!” he said, smiling. “That would be so awesome wouldn't it? In the play, “Fences,” the author, August Wilson, has broken his story into two acts. The first Act tells the life of Troy Maxson and the issues surrounding his life. In the beginning, the character, Troy Maxson, is understood to be the main character and we learn about his friends and family. The date is sometime in the year 1957 and it’s a Friday night. This leads to a discussion, him and his friend and coworker, Jim Bono, have at their usual weekly drinking and socializing time.
