Born as a South Korean, but lived in various places around the world. Blended with people who did not share the same culture, language, race, belief, and tradition - which an elementary girl had to take in a lot. Growing up in Pakistan and living in an International Boarding School was not an easy life. Having to acclimate with various types of nationalities, I had to go through many clashes and conflicts. This is where most of my experiences came from - struggling with students and adults at my high school. For five years studying in Pakistan, I went through moments when my life was falling apart and moments when my life was going smooth. These stages of my life gave me so much agony, pessimism, despondency, and blinded me from seeing the purpose and meaning of life. On the other hand, it also did give me laughter and happiness. However, under those circumstances, I strived to fight with differences and problems that I had to come across with, but the hardest part was when there was no one there by my side. Nevertheless, because of my unique lifestyle and experiences, it persuaded me to have a passion for helping teenagers. The reason is because there will and there are people who are going through the same situation as I went through. As for this, I want teenagers or anyone to know that there is someone who is always willing to reach out. Someone who can be reliable. Someone who can listen. Someone who can advise. Someone who can care. Someone who can influence. And these
Hmmm………What shall I tell you about me? You, the person who will decide my fate, my fate as to whether I would go to CU-Boulder, go live in Colorado, go snowboarding in the mountains, meet lots of interesting people, and have the most wonderful experience…I better make myself sound worthy. First off, I want you to know that I'm an unparalleled individual, whose outlook on life is of total optimism. Through out my 18 years, I've become freinds with people from all walks of life. I've learned to empathize with just about every one of them, gaining the greatest understanding in a variety of remarkable characters. One of my favorite, a homeless lady who's called Polly, tells the most incredible stories of love and the many
“I am Korean. South Korean to be exact.” These were the words I would always use to describe myself during new encounters. My race seemed to be what people noticed about me first. Whether I was at a leadership conference, church, or cross country event, there was always someone asking where I was from. For this reason, being an immigrant from Korea has been a big part of my identity as an individual and student.
I want to help students because in school years are often a very stressful time. They need someone to go to when they feel overwhelmed, sad, desperate, confused, angry, depressed, anxious, or hopeless. In grade school, I will work with parents and teachers to help kids who have problems with learning disabilities, behavioral problems, or family issues. In middle school, I will help students problems with friends, struggles with schoolwork, and changes in the body. During high school will be similar as middles school but with life decisions, such as whether to join the military, what college to go to, and what career to pursue. Helping individual students are my way of enjoying a
Has there ever been a time in your life where you were going through something and felt sad, and alone? Well I have, and i’ve came across many people who have also. Leading this group of girls requires me to be a positive influence on their lives; I must conduct myself in the highest manner as to reflect this positive behavior on them. This group has also taught me the importance of community and having a support system. Witnessing the relationships being formed and growing stronger between the girls and myself and the girls amongst themselves has taught me that everyone needs someone to support them. During every person’s life, at one point or another, a tough circumstance has surfaced and when hope seems lost and they are in need of an inspiration to move forward. I stand to be that inspiration and strive to demonstrate to the girls how to be that inspiration for others around them and spread hope and positivity. Having a safe environment to be able to discuss events happening in life and times when we are suffering or need help is a vital aspect of this

As all stories are based on Clark’s real stories, they put the themes into practice with an organize and suitable ways. Adolescents want significant adults to help them but under the present situation, they often think everybody is out for themselves. For now, the authors challenge adults to make a positive impact on teenagers; they do not ask to change the world. When starting one-on-one time with a teen, it will definitely change the life of the teen at least.
Coming to public highs school from the christian missionary community school was taking a step into a new world. I encountered individuals with the different social philosophy and ideals, some of the ideas appeared unfamiliar as if it was foreign. Interacting with the fellow classmates and the teachers introduced me to the world, taught me to protect my own beliefs and embrace fresh ideas. Day by day, Kealakehe made me into a listener with a strong ground from a stubborn strong head. In Kealakehe High School, a home of the students from the various background, it is simply impossible

Children and adolescents are capable of impacting their communities and even the world in amazing
Whenever I set a goal, I first ask myself is the goal realistic and reachable and secondly if I am willing to make changes in my life to reach those goals. While I have several goals there are a few that are imperative to reach. One of them being a counseling center for underprivileged girls ages K-12. As a victim and an advocate for bullying I want to highlight the situation and teach the girls how to detect signs and how to deal with a bully. I had my parents to help me but my goal is to target those that don’t necessarily receive that attention at home. Self esteem will also is a big topic surrounding girls in that age group I want to teach them about positive body image and the importance of loving yourself. Obtaining my Ph.D. is another meaningful goal I intend to achieve; with myself being the first generation from my family to attend a major university I feel the need to reach my highest potential. Setting big goals, taking small steps and being focused in my pursuit I know I will achieve all I set my mind to. The definition of a relator is someone who is especially talented in enjoying close relationships with others. They find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal. When I look back and reflect on personal influences in my life, no one has made a greater impact than those of my parents. All I am I owe to my
Manners represent an individual by the way they dress, behave, communicate, and their etiquette, while customs refer to the traditional way that a culture is practice individually, or by a group of people. Workers are expected to bow to their seniors when they greet them, and to use only formal language to their seniors, as it is rude to speak informally to someone of higher rank. In Korean businesses, meetings are often held in evenings at a restaurant or bar. Drinking is part of the Korean culture, as Koreans believe that drinking helps to bond colleagues in the company, and an offered drink must never be refused as it is considered to be rude. Along with drinking, Karaoke is a popular activity after meetings. People who attend the meeting are usually expected to sing a solo song.
