Everybody said that my sister Britney was the beauty of the family. I did not really mind them saying so, as it was apparent. What I did not like was the way they pointed out how unattractive I was.
"Is Britney really your sister?" they would exclaim. "It's incredible - you don't resemble her at all!"
Britney's hair is dark and shiny. It flows in waves to adorn her fair, healthy skin. Framed by naturally long lashes, her large sparkling eyes shimmer like opalescent lilies in the lake of the celestial maidens' palace. Her straight nose goes well with her high cheek bones while her full lips are the colour of a red rose. When she smiles, the world would sigh with contentment and her laughter brightens the world. A tall, slim figure with long,

It's obvious! The beauty of the family..." Bob exclaimed but I cut him off.
"... is Britney. Of course I know!" I said dejectedly.
"No, silly! I meant you!" Bob continued.
Although I found it hard to believe that he meant what he had just said, he was indeed sincere.
"I married you because of your inner beauty. You're kind-hearted, patient, loving and thoughtful - those are the character traits that Britney lacks," Bob elaborated.
"Really?" I asked. "But isn't it true that people generally favour charming and attractive women - or women with outer beauty?"
"A woman's outer or physical beauty can be a bonus, but it's the inner beauty that really matters," Bob further explained. "For instance, when talking to someone for a while, you may find them pleasant or not-so-pleasant at first. But as the conversation continues longer, you may begin to discover personal qualities and traits. Without even realising it, you start to find the person more and more beautiful or charming. In fact, that was what happened when I first met you - you left a good initial impression on

Now I have finally understood the meaning of the proverb 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' - different people have different ideas about what is beautiful. I am glad and thankful that my husband and children appreciate my beauty. I am no longer ashamed of the way I
I believe that my response is based on the way the author received her ideas on what beauty is.
As a thirty-five year old, Caucasian female, Britney came from an unstable home life. Britney Spears experienced major successes in her life, but went through some major losses. As a group, we are analyzing the period in Spears’s life that she seemed to break away from social norms and had odd behaviors: such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, vulgar public actions, and changes to her appearance. We intend to approach this period in her life with a sociocultural perspective in order to get to the root of her spiral and how she came back on top.
Dr.Kesiraju Ramprasad said that “Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It is having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and most importantly a beautiful soul”. However, truthful the Doctors quote may be, it is often not what is viewed as important in real life situations. In society, beauty
Beauty plays a major role in a women life. Her beauty is directly related to her confidence and happiness. A public survey on 200 people concluded that beauty also plays a major role in success of a women and her public relations and impression is much better then a less beautiful women. Also there are likely more chance of getting jab interview cleared for a beautiful women. Such things proves the importance of beauty in life of a women.
The Sociocultural Perspective explains Britney Spears’s case because she grew up in a bad home environment. Spears grew up with an alcoholic and verbally abusive father (Surge, 2016). This event led to her picking up the same bad habits of her father, and become an alcoholic. Instead of the rage, she just lost herself. It is hard to imagine being in that position. Everyone’s eyes always on everyone else’s, their every move being monitored, making sure they do not say anything irreversible. Due to her manager, the paparazzi were always around her. At the time, her manager would leak her location to the paparazzi, knowing that she was having a
Everyone likes a person who is happy and friendly. “In order to look good on the outside you must feel good on the inside” (source K). How true this is! You can wear the best makeup and the most up to date clothes, but if you don’t love you, people can see how sad you truly are. It might sound harsh, but I have seen a friend go from the happiest person on earth to someone who looks like they need help, in the matter of seconds because they made a mistake. Over three-quarters of women on the survey I mentioned earlier believe that “beauty can be achieved through attitude, spirit, and other attribute that have nothing to do with physical appearance” (source I). That is a very large number over a very large area. So if you think you aren’t gorgeous, just try being a little happier each and every day and every one of those minuscule imperfections will soon disappear. So many people have low self-esteem because of their looks. But we now know that true beauty comes from the heart. Helping others to see their beauty is a great way to find your own, and you can impact many lives for the better. And if someone is physically attractive, make sure they know it. No body is the same, so why change
“I could hear you crazies arguing all the way from the car, just give the poor girl something to do this time. You never let her get in on any of the action.” suggested Natasha,
“Jealous?” A smirk grew on his face, hiding laughter behind a taunting pair of lips. “Don’t think I forgot about you. Last time I checked, you owe me for letting you know what I know about Zachary’s little girlfriend. But don’t fret. I’m very flexible with payment plans.”
70% of ladies admitted that they would ignore or avoid a potential love interest because of the way they looked (Buchanan). We live in a world where superficial beauty is an important advantage especially when choosing a partner in life. People try their hardest to look attractive and gone are the days when inner beauty are more accounted for. What if you have the opportunity to choose between an understanding, kind but not good-looking guy and an inconsiderate, selfish but stunningly appealing man? The 2017 Disney movie Beauty and the Beast is an epic hero myth which shows us that real love and beauty are not only about physical appearance but looking beyond what you can see and seeing one’s character within.
According to The Washington Post, “About 20 percent of American adults suffer some sort of mental illness each year, and about 5 percent experience a serious disorder that disrupts work, family, or social life” (Brown). People with these mental disorders and illnesses were not recognized, treated, and dealt with until the early 1900s. The Yellow Wallpaper is one of the first public sources that talks about the damage these illnesses have on a person. Charlotte Perkins Gilman suffered from a mental illness herself, postpartum depression, which lead her to write the short story, The Yellow Wallpaper. Before she published this story, hardly anyone knew anything about these illnesses or what it was like to live with one.
Having dark skin and long thick hair has always been things that I was proud of, because this was the way that all the women in my family looked. My mother and grandmother always made me feel like being me or looking like me was the greatest gift in the world, however, I learned from the constant teasing and hair pulling from individuals in my 5th grade class that looking like the rest of my family was not seen as a good thing to others outside of my home. That is when I became truly aware of my differences and I believe those negative experiences changed the way I viewed my own self-worth and beauty. I am no long that confident

The definition of beauty is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. Beauty has negative and positive influences on mostly people. Beauty is described by the inside and outside of us. Due to beauty, our self-esteem has been hurt dramatically, especially towards girls. Beauty is not always about our outside looks but it’s about our inside personality also.
There are a large group of individuals who believe that outer beauty is temporary while inner beauty is untouchable and ever lasting, and that is what makes someone truly beautiful. Even photographers that photograph beautiful models say that they look for girls that portray a beautiful soul behind the face or a feeling of kindness that shows through. It is amazing how inner beauty can make an average looking person light up a room with there heart-stopping presence. It is a permanent quality which makes an individual interesting, reachable, and trustworthy. If you feel beautiful, your own confidence and self-worth brings out a glow of beauty that no outer beauty can compete with. If inner beauty is the genuine
