Boxer is a horse with amazing strength and loyalty to Comrade Napoleon. In the book he works hard for the good of the farm, and sets standards for himself. He asks the rooster to wake him up an hour early to support the creation of the windmill, holds the stones up when the other animals' strength fails, and always follows the words of Comrade Napoleon. He is loyal and kind to all the animals on the farm, and shows them a good example to follow. He works too hard, and his lung puts out and the pigs send him to the knacker so he can die. Boxer is always remembered for his hard work after his death, though. Pastor John has qualities like Boxer.

He is for being the oldest animal on the farm and talks. He is a cynical animal, and does not change much throughout the story. It is said that he is the worst-tempered animal, but that is not always true. Although he never volunteers for extra work (but never shirks either), he is wise and shows his experience when the men blow up the windmill. He cares for Boxer by making him a soft straw bed when Boxer's lung collapses. Mr. Ringgold and Benjamin share similar qualities. Boxer’s qualities directly relate to the Soviets working class due to his intelligence level. It is established that Boxer is not the most academic oriented animal in the farm as stated in the text, “Boxer could not get beyond the letter D” (Orwell, 33). The working class during this era were not given educational opportunities which prevented them from achieving a higher intelligence and better jobs in society. However, this is an is an enormous flaw in both parties because it allows someone like Stalin or Napoleon to take control over them and allow them not to think for themselves which happens in both Animal Farm and
Orwell and Bradbury both did a tremendous job in developing the characters and the overall setting to help the reader understand the important message of the story. In Animal Farm, the animals may be animals, but in another reality of the story, they represent humans and ideas in a society. The animals can lie, manipulate, and train other animals to their own advantage as humans do. The consequences of lying, manipulating, and taking advantage of others, are destructive.
Napoleon, who is dictator by now, proceeds to manipulate the farm animals with his deceitful propaganda. However, his scheming acts become noticeably repetitive. Making some of the animals question his authority. The majority of the animals were blindly following Napoleon’s regime, only a few who realized that it was not what he was claiming it to be. Benjamin, an old, wise, and stubborn donkey was not affected by the rebellion. He is also intelligent, being the only animal other than the pigs that can fluently read. Benjamin represent the humans that hold the idea that life is hard, and that efforts for change are useless. Benjamin can too represent Orwell himself. Both Orwell and Benjamin saw the negatives of a government when the rest were
Animal Farm is a prime example of devotion and the loyalty that is vital for success. Boxer is a selfless hard-working horse that displays genuine loyalty to the rebellion willing to do anything for the better of his newfound family. Boxer adopts a new personal motto of “I will work harder” static from the beginning of the novel to his death (murder). Boxer is unwavering in his devotion. Even when the windmill is destroyed and it is time for Boxer’s long waited retirement he continues to strive forward and push his body to the max showing loyalty to Napoleon time and time again, reflecting his other motto “Napoleon is always right”. The point of view used throughout the novel is third person omniscient. This allows for an overall
Boxer is a very important animal at the animal farm who takes the weight of the problems and puts them on himself and always claims he will work harder. Boxer, the workhorse on the farm, has always worked hard and pushes himself to be better, and to do more. This made all the animals look up to him, more than their actual leader at times. He takes responsibilities that are not even his and excels. Animal Farm by George Orwell shows the many ways the Boxer is an important virtue to the farm and to his friends.
It was once when an animal was a slave and just an animal, but with a little bit of rebellion, things are turned upside down. Animal Farm shows an important point that it is easy to take advantage of those who are feeble, or less intelligent. Napoleon uses his power to keep the sheep working who follow along with the rest of the animals, and also exploits characters like Boxer who helps. In Animal Farm, George Orwell uses personification and detail to show a leader and followers viewpoints in an environment to prove how leaders and followers contributes to the loss of freedom and equality.

“Animal Farm” by George Orwell is an allegorical novel published on England in 1945. According to the author, this book reflects historical events leading up and during the Stalin era before World War II. It is the story of a revolution which goes wrong, based on the Russian revolution and Stalin’s use of power, the overall message is that man’s desire for power makes a classless society impossible. George Gurdjieff was an influential spiritual teacher in the early twentieth century. He once said that when one is uneducated he will always remain a slave. “Without self knowledge, without understanding the working and functions of his machine, man cannot be free, he cannot govern himself and he will always remain a slave” (George Gurdjieff Quotes). This ties in with how the animals are treated in George Orwell’s Animal Farm. Animal Farm is a novella about animals who take over their farm and form a society. The animals rebel and overtake their master, Mr. Jones, forming their society based on Animalism, or the belief in equality of all animals. However, a corrupt pig named Napoleon comes to power and uses the animals’ ignorance for his benefit. He ensures that the animals slowly forget the commandments of Animalism and how the farm used to be like before the rebellion. It is evident that the animals themselves are the most harmful to the society of Animal Farm because of their naivety; this naivety relates to the working class of today's society, in both that the working class make up the majority of followers and that most people are uneducated about how the power of government is run. Boxer is one specific animal in this book that represents this naivety.
George Orwell’s Animal Farm is a perfect example of how ignorance and lack of education can be used for control. Control which can lead to political and social oppression. The experiences of the various characters present how the pigs use this idea to oppress the animals of Animal Farm.

The novel seems to be a simple story, however Orwell wrote this book as an allegory, a story that has a clear secondary meaning beneath is literal sense. Everything in Animal Farm is used to represent people and events that took place during the Russian revolution from 1917-1939. Orwell chose to represent Russia's three famous leaders during this time with three pigs. Each three are drastically different and have dissimilar
Most people believe that the main characters in a novel tell the story, but it is actually clear that without the minor characters there would not be a story. In George Orwell’s Animal Farm the minor characters play an important role in giving the clues that the new revolution will not work out. Animal Farm’s three minor characters Mollie, Benjamin and Boxer show the importance in being true to oneself rather than trying to please the all-knowing leader.
Animal Farm is a novel satirizing communism in Soviet Russia by George Orwell. Animal Farm shows many methods of propaganda. After a farm’s pigs lead the rebellion against the farm’s owner, Mr. Jones, they aim to lead a communist society or animalism as the animals refer to their new lifestyle. Their new farm was renamed Animal Farm rather than Manor Farm. Seven commandments were put forth by the animals, one of which was “all animals are equal”. Three pigs stood out from the rest, Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer. Squealer was a brilliant talker, he always got his way through words. Snowball and Napoleon lead the farm, yet the leader position was disputed among them. During a meeting Napoleon’s dogs purposely chased Snowball out of the farm, which lead to the Animal Farm’s tyrant ruler, Napoleon, to rise in power.
