Richard Branson was the epitome of overcoming obstacles and being successful through adversity. Branson came from a tough background; growing up with dyslexia, he struggled through school and almost failed-out before the age of 13. At the age of 16, he dropped out of school and started a youth culture magazine called Student. The first edition of his magazine sold $8,000 in advertising. Living in London, he got an idea for a mail-order record company that would help him with his magazine.
