Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is about two children of opposing families... the Capulets and the Montagues… begin a tragic love story. Within five days they fall in love, get married, and end their lives. The love story of Romeo and Juliet was never easy, one bad thing after another seemed to always occur. The only people to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is themselves. From the beginning to the end, it was their poor decision making that cost them their lives. First off, Romeo was in love with another girl just hours before meeting Juliet. The only reason Romeo met Juliet was because he went to the party to find Rosaline… the other girl. “If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: My lips. Two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss,” (Shakespeare 394). Romeo jumps into things without thinking, he makes irrational decisions. It starts off with Romeo believing Juliet is dead, without question he killed himself just because he thought she was dead. If he waited just a little bit longer, maybe it could’ve ended differently. “A dateless bargain to engrossing death! Come, bitter conduct; cme. unsavory guide! Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on The dashing rocks thy seasick weary bark! Here’s to my love! O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die,” (Shakespeare 473). Shortly after Juliet wakes up and ends up actually killing herself because she sees Romeo dead. “This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die,” (Shakespeare 475). They bring the whole idea of jumping to conclusions to a whole new level. They offset the entire story with them meeting and getting married within 24 hours as well as ending their lives because they can’t live without each other. You will never know if you can or can’t live without a person if you barely know
