The Titanic‘s construction began on March 31, 1909. On May 31, 1911, the ginormous ship has sailed. As on the night of April 14, 11:40 PM, lookouts spotted a large iceberg dead ahead. As the ship and the iceberg move towards each other, BOOM! The Titanic and the iceberg crashed like two middle schoolers in a hallway bumping into each other. A big total of 1,517 men, women, and children died along with the Titanic. Most killed themselves after the Titanic’s sinkage, and a total of 328 bodies were found. But who was to blame of the sinkage?
The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion on the causes of the sinking of it.
“She brushed the berg so gently that many on board didn’t notice it, but so lethally that she was instantly doomed (Lord).” The Titanic sent out her first distressed call at 12:15 a.m. (Lord). At 12:45, she began to fire rockets (Lord). At 1:10 when the first lifeboat pulled away, the water was up to the ship’s portholes (Lord). Fifty-five minutes later, at 2:05, the last lifeboat had left and there were 1,600 people stuck on the sloping decks (Lord). At 2:17, the Titanic majestically stood on end (Lord). It was at 2:20, on April 15, 1912, when the Titanic, the unsinkable ship had slipped beneath the sea (Lord). The sinking of the Titanic was known as the most famous disasters at sea (“Edward J. Smith”
The Titanic was a ship that sunk during its maiden voyage in 1912. This big ship was on it’s way to New York when it struck an iceberg. It was believed to be “unsinkable” but that night it met it’s fate and sunk killing many passengers. As the story goes they say it’s the icebergs fault for the sinking of the ship. When in reality, the White Star Line was truly at fault for the sinking of the Titanic. They are responsible for this tragedy because they went full speed after ignoring six ice warnings. Not only that but they should've thought of the consequences when they decided to take off lifeboats for more room for luxury items. Then they weren’t prepared and never had any drills or safety procedures for if the ship were to sink.
Have you ever wondered who was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic? It is important because it helped make a bunch of rules for sailing to this day. You should care about the sinking of the Titanic because it was a huge part of our history. Jack Phillips is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he turned off the radio and couldn’t receive warnings.
On April 14, 1912 what was known as one of the safest ships, the titanic, sank.
Because the crew of the Titanic did not listen to the warnings sent by other ships, the Titanic hit an iceberg at eleven-forty p.m. The scouts of the ship saw the iceberg about thirty seconds before the ship’s starboard (right) side scraped against it. If the Titanic was going slower, then the crew would have been able to turn the ship around the iceberg. The crew and the passengers were not too worried, though. The Titanic was built so that it was “unsinkable”. There were compartments on the sides of the ship that would hold water if the ship were to get any holes. Then, the whole ship found out that there were not enough compartments to hold all of the water gushing into the hull. At eleven-fifty p.m., fourteen feet of seawater was filled inside of the Titanic. Most of the crew was shocked by how much water was entering the Titanic that they started to panic as the ship started to tilt forward.
April 15, 1912 the “unsinkable” Titanic had almost three hours before it was no longer afloat, but plunged to the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean. Blueprints, journal & logs, and tons of witnesses were thoroughly inspected over the past 100 years to help solve the question agonizing question, why. For the 100-year remembrance of the tragic event, Smithsonian Channel released a documentary, Titanic’s Final Mystery. Dedicated Titanic detective and historian, Tim Maltin releases his theory on how the “unsinkable” sank.
TITANIC The April 14, 1912, the titanic sunk down with a lot of people on it. The titanic pose to been “unsinkable” but there was to many water weight compartments, so it sunk down hours after it got busted. Titanic pose to been the greatest voyage of all time but was it really?
Have you ever wondered who was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic? First of all, it's important because hundreds of people lost their lives on the ship. People should care about this because it was the most devastating thing of the century. Robert Hichens is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he was the one responsible for steering the ship and he was also a big bully. Now, I know you think Captain Smith is responsible because he had the ship going at full speed, but Hichens steered the wrong way too late.
The RMS Titanic; A Tragedy Based on Class. In April, 1912, the so called "unsinkable" Titanic set sail to New York. The great ship was as big as five city blocks, and weighed thousands and thousands of tons. Everyone who was everyone grabbed a room on the luxurious ship for the trip of a lifetime. On April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg an sank into the icy depths of the North Atlantic.
On April 15, 1912 at approximately 2:20am, the RMS Titanic sank into the ocean after crashing into a towering iceberg, 640km south of Newfoundland, Canada. More than 1500 people have died, tearing apart relationships and families. The whereabouts of the ship is still unknown and many fear the worst. The captain and crew has been blamed for this incident and is now facing public scrutiny.
The RMS Titanic sinking was a huge tragedy for many people, I mean the ship was said to be unsinkable, and even after the ship sank it wasn’t found for almost over 70 years. As you probably know the ship wasn’t found in perfect condition, obviously the ship was split in two, but now the ship is almost unrecognisable from when it was first discovered. This is because the sight of this special location where such a tragedy happened, and so many people sadly died has become a spot for many tourists. This is wrong for so many reasons, first the Titanic is being destroyed by careless/bad drivers, second it is disrespectful because this is the spot where people lost their family members and friends.
In this document you will be learning about the Titanic. We will be answering the following questions: Was the ship unsinkable? Who was on the ship? Where were they heading it and how long would it have taking for them to get there? What time did it take and how long? And how many people died, and survived. Now let’s take a journey to the sinking of the Titanic!
When analyzing this disaster the first thing to consider is the engineer’s design of the Titanic. The Titanic was employing many new and innovative designs that were believed to make the Titanic the safest ship ever built at that time. The engineer’s of the vessel made claims that the Titanic was “unsinkable” and that “even in the worst possible accident at sea, the ship should have stayed afloat for two to three days.” One of the features that lead them to this claim was the 16 watertight compartments in the hull of the ship. The way they were designed allowed for up to four compartments to be breached and they ship would still carry
