No Fear Shakespeare To begin, you must beware of this play because the very name Macbeth is supposed to bring the supernatural and witches! Many events happen in this play. Some of the events are for the good and some are not. This play is Macbeth by Shakespeare. Macbeth starts out as a very loyal and courageous soldier. He has just won two wars in one day! This is when the witches come in and give a mysterious start to Macbeth’s timely demise! This play can be seen in many different ways. One way to see this play is as Macbeth as the person to blame! Secondly, Macbeth is to be blamed because of these three reasons. Macbeth is the one who first begins the plan of Duncan’s assassination. He forms this plan when the witches greet him by calling him the great Thane of Cawdor! (act 1 Scene 3 pg 15) This power immediately got to his head. You can see this when he is commanding the witches to give him more information. (page 17) Lady Macbeth may have helped him with his evil doings , but the man was so easy to convince! All she had to do was call him unmanly, and he was right on …show more content…
Many people think this because Lady Macbeth is so to the core. She pushes her husband hard to commit this crime. One of the all time favorite quote by her is, “Screw your courage to the sticking place”! (Page 44) She even calls him unmanly and a coward! (Act 1 Scene 7 Page 43) Many views see that her husband thinks he will be shamed in her eyes forever. It is said that this is why the assassination occurs. However, even though she helped “convince” Macbeth, he is the one who thought up the crime. He is a strong and independent person. This is proved when we see him win two different wars in one day! Near the end of the play he is the one making all the murderous plans. No one made him do any of that. Right before the assassination he says, “ The murder is as good as done”. (Act 2 Scene 1 Page 53) Macbeth killed the king. Lady Macbeth did
“When Lady MacBeth receives the letter from MacBeth telling her that he wants to kill Duncan, she fears that he would not have the courage to go through with it” (Shakespeare 31). She brings out the worst in him and encourages him to kill King Duncan. She persuades him by constantly telling him negative things to get MacBeth to believe that he is doing the right thing. “Look like th’ innocent flower, but be the serpent under ’t” (Shakespeare 35). Lady MacBeth is the one who tells MacBeth to be this vicious creature and makes him think that killing King Duncan is okay. Because of Lady Macbeth’s behavior, MacBeth was led to become a murderer. Macbeth should not be held accountable for his actions since Lady MacBeth is the one who convinced him to commit the crime that started his madness and turn him into a monster.
These predictions are effective in attracting Macbeth's attention because they feed off his desire for what they promise. At this point in the play he is the newly
Macbeth is a story about murder and the spiral towards becoming mad with power. Macbeth, the story’s protagonist/antagonist, is told that he would receive great power and a title above all, the title of king. What macbeth is not told is how he would get this great power. Evententally after telling his wife she comes to the conclusion that she has to kill the current king Duncan. After Macbeth commits to the crime he’s crowned king and to remain king he kills off whoever could stands in his way even going to witches again only to be killed by what who they he would be killed by.
The Tragedy of Macbeth details the downfall of the tragic hero, Macbeth, and is one of William Shakespeare’s most famous works of tragedy. Macbeth’s bloody murders and eventual descent into complete madness serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of uncontrolled ambitions in humanity. Macbeth may not be held responsible for the death of Duncan and Macduff’s family, but he should be for that of Banquo’s. It is definitely arguable that Macbeth is the cause behind the death of Duncan, Banquo and Macduff’s family; however, the influence of others and his mental instability greatly reshaped his persona, as such, Macbeth cannot always be held responsible for his actions.
In William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth, blame for the atrocities committed within the play can be divided between multiple parties. The death of Duncan at the hands of a man who should be a loyal thane as unnatural. Although both Lady Macbeth and Macbeth each bear some of the blame, most of it falls on Macbeth, because he takes action. Lady Macbeth convinces him, but never forces his hand. In addition, Macbeth has the idea to kill Duncan before he talks to Lady Macbeth. Consequently, Macbeth bears more guilt than Lady Macbeth.
Every action has a reaction. In terms of “The Tragedy of Macbeth” by Shakespeare, The verdict of who to hold accountable for the murder of King Duncan is a question many people ponder because multiple characters like Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, The Three Witches, and King Duncan himself, made influencing choices that led to this tragic death. It is my understanding that these characters impacted the story and should receive some blame for the crime, but the blunt of the blame falls to Macbeth because with all said and done he had the biggest motive for wanting the king dead, felt the most guilt, and most important of all, Macbeth was the very person to take King Duncan's life. One of the most influential characters in this play was its leading
I think macbeth is to blame, one of my reasons is he was talked into killing the king way too easy he had the chance to say no but he went along with it anyway.act 1, scene 7, lines 79-80,”Now i’m decided, and will exert every muscle in my body to commit this crime”. Macbeth is saying he will do anything to kill duncan and become king no matter what he has to do. My other reason for blaming macbeth is he betrays anyone who is in his way to become king or stay king.
When debating who was more responsible for king Duncan’s death, I came to conclusion that it was mostly Lady Macbeth. Within the play she was constantly telling Macbeth that he would be considered a coward. She was working on the evil that was already inside of him. She wanted her husband to be king and she would clearly do anything to get Macbeth to that point. Throughout the whole story, Lady Macbeth is trying to convince Macbeth to kill King Duncan.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth try to plot and kill the king, Macbeth doesn't want to at first but his ambitious wife thinks otherwise. At first they did not seem willing to kill him or try. Macbeth only started to listen to his wife because he wanted to be crowned and would never be if King Duncan wouldn't of died. Lady Macbeth is ruthless and doesn't care, she just wants King Duncan to be murdered and her husband to be ruled as king.
Later on (Act 1 Scene 7) Macbeth started to have some serious doubts about the dreadful deed he was planning. He still very much wanted to be King, but his conscience was getting in the way of his "vaulting ambition". However, his wife managed to reassure him that all will be well, and he weakly submits. Nevertheless, it is absurd to suggest that Lady Macbeth was responsible for Macbeth’s decision to kill the King. If Macbeth had not wanted to kill the King, he wouldn’t have, regardless of any amount of bullying from his wife. He knows that he really wants to kill Duncan, it was his initial thought when he first encountered the witches. However, he didn’t like to think he was capable of such atrocities.
Macbeth is a play rife with tragedy. Written by William Shakespeare most probably in the year 1606, the play was very loosely based on somewhat true events. The play focuses on Macbeth’s rise to power, and then his subsequent demise shortly thereafter. Macbeth's ambitions were too big, and the choices that he made were the wrong ones. If he had never chosen to kill the King, then he would not have been killed in return. And while prophecies were made that predicted what would happen, Macbeth was the one that set them into motion, and he was the only one responsible for his own death.
Who is the most responsible for the tragic events that occur in the play their are many people responsible but the number one person that is responsible for the tragedy is the three witches because if not for them lady macbeth would have not question macbeth's manhood and macbeth would have not killed king duncan and he would not have killed banquo and have not have banquo's ghost haunting macbeth and lady macbeth would have not killed herself and macbeth would have never been king. These are some of the reasons why the witches are the main cause. The witches told macbeth his fate and told him “ All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, thane of Glamis! , All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! ,All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!,Lesser
We certainly know that the direct responsible for Duncan’s death is Macbeth. However this does not necessarily mean he is to blame, for his violent death is obviously the consequence of certain influences that forced Macbeth to perform his fatal deed. Furthermore, to unearth the truth about who is really the guilty for Duncan’s murder we must explore the influences the different characters have on Macbeth’s impulses and the overall scenario of the slaying.
Macbeth, despite influences of the witches and Lady Macbeth, is responsible for his downfall. The witches are not fully to blame but do play a part in Macbeth's tragedy. In William Shakespeare’s play "Macbeth", Macbeth is a hero who soon destroys himself by his own wicked and selfish ambitions. To a certain degree, the witches can be blamed for the tragedy, although the blame can easily fall amongst Macbeth’s ambitious nature, and Lady Macbeth’s manipulation. Overall, the witches play an important role in the tragedy, but the blame cannot be purely placed on the witches as there are the other factors involved in the play, causing the tragic ending.
