The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion on the causes of the sinking of it.
After examining all of the evidence, I have concluded that Captain Smith was the most significant cause in the sinking of the Titanic at 80 percent. I believe he was the main cause because he cancelled the lifeboat drills, and his crew decided to not turn out of the way of the iceberg. Also, only environmental factors matter if they hadn't crashed into the iceberg.
Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic on April 15, 1912. The pie graph indicates that Design & Construction and Environmental Factors had the least effect on the Titanic's sinking.
I chose to give Design & Construction
Why did the Titanic sink? Who’s to blame for this imprint on the timeline of humanity? How could the guilty let this happen? All of these questions could be answered with one man, Captain Edward J. Smith. As Ballard’s Exploring the Titanic says, “(Captain Smith) was a natural leader and was popular with both crew and passengers… thirty-eight years’ service with the White Star Line… had an excellent safety record.” This seems like the guy you would want to captain a great ship like the Titanic, and at first he was. But, as the ship’s voyage progressed he started to forget his duties and take this trip as some getaway time for himself to enjoy. This idea of his endorsed his mind until he only visited the bridge every couple hours. When the iceberg
Have you ever wondered who sank the Titanic? Captain Smith was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he put the ship in full speed, he was ignoring the ice warnings, and there were no warnings for the people at the iceberg sighting.
The sinking of the Titanic is one most well-known shipwreck in modern day history and it's still being written and told about even a century later. The causation of the sinking has been debated heavily since the crash in 1912 and many so-called experts of the titanic disagree with another on this issue. There has been new development when the ship was discovered in 1985 and examined by experts. Leading people that the sinking was caused by three major turning points. The first being the failures of White Star Line who manufacture the ship starting in 1909. The second being the crew of the ship that had some very serve flaws in the plan of action leading up to the disaster. Lastly the passengers who had enough time to prepare before the
In this text i am going to be telling you about who/ what is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. The sinking of the Titanic was an accident but it could have been prevented. In this next paragraph i am going to be telling you who i think was responsible for it.
On April 14, 1912 what was known as one of the safest ships, the titanic, sank.
Although some people think Captain Smith is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. However, I think that it is J. Bruce Ismay because he told Captain Smith to accelerate the speed of the ship after they received 7 ice warnings. They say that Captain Smith didn’t put as many people on the lifeboats as he could and that’s true, but Ismay didn’t have enough lifeboats for everyone on the ship. When Ismay saw the iceberg, it was too close so he took a 90% angle and got a hole on
The RMS Titanic is a passenger liner that sunk in the North Atlantic in 1912 after hitting an iceberg. About 1,500 of the estimated 2,224 passengers died. The ship sailed full speed despite ice warnings, preventing it from stopping or steering away from the berg. Watertight compartments flooded, causing Titanic to go under. These details are supported by accounts and physical evidence, and therefore, widely accepted as truth. However, there's a few alternative conspiracy and architectural theories.
The causes of the titanic sinking are unbelievable. One of the reasons the titanic did not stay afloat is, when they got the alert for the iceberg straight ahead, they reversed the engine so they would slow down. After they started to turn hoping that they would miss the iceberg. Unfortunately they hit the iceberg causing them to puncture 5 air chambers which was bad because if they punctured more than 4 air chambers they would sink. Another reason they did not stay afloat is that they used delicate steel for the hull of the
Many people wonder if the Titanic sunk because of human error or construction error. What do you think caused the titanic to sink?
There are two things that I, myself, think carry responsibility for the wrecking of the magnificent ship, The Titanic. The first one was that I think that the captain was responsible in one way because he didn’t think that the ship could sink, on page eighteen, it states, “Besides, what danger could a few pieces of ice present to an unsinkable ship?”. It shows how the captain thought it couldn't be conquered. Secondly, the captain ignored seven of them. Seven! He would have to have a very large amount of confidence to ignore that many. Last, but not least, is that on page twenty, it says that the captain didn’t think that the lookout needed binoculars. If he had binoculars,
On the 15th of April 1912, an unspeakable tragedy happened when the Titanic was destroyed on the way to New York City. A large titanic ship was not made ice berg proof so when it drove straight into the ice berg it sunk to the bottom of the water in 1 hour and a half. The 2,200 passengers, who died alongside the ship, died of coldness and some died of no food. The ship never reached its destination in New York City.
The Sinking of the Titanic was a tragedy that affected many. This event will forever be in the memories of the people who have suffered from losing loved ones and to the people that such a historical event affected. History was drastically changed after the Sinking of the Titanic, the so called “unsinkable” ship, occurred. A number of theories have been conducted about this event throughout the years after its occurrence. However, only one of these theories should be true. The workers who built the Titanic relied more on the aesthetic beauty and scenery of the ship, rather than the safety of the passengers.
BOOM! It was 11:40 P.M. and everyone was having dinner with out of nowhere there was a huge knock against the boat. No one knew what was going on until we heard screaming on the lower decks. As everyone looked down and saw the water rising and the ship sinking, they knew something terrible had happened. The tragic sinking of the RMS Titanic, whom was on her maiden voyage across the North Atlantic Ocean from Southampton England to New York City, was then seen as a sensational event. The loss of the Titanic was the most dramatic disaster of modern times. It was a failure of technology and modern advances. The history of the Titanic is an amazing story and has lots of myths and truths to it. Then we have the sinking of the Titanic and what really
Some people may think someone else is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic, however, Captain Smith got seven ice calls and he ignored them. Captain Smith should have stayed in the
The Titanic was a very large ship that could hold many people and held many important people. Mr. smith did not listen to the ice warnings and he got careless. I think Mr. Smith did not take the ice warnings too heavily because not too many ships be for have been damage be floating ice. So it would be best if you took ice warnings or any warning very seriously. I think that Mr. Smith the captain of the Titanic is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic as A result, he got careless when it came to the ice warnings all he did was put more people to watch and did not take that much precaution.
