Every successful business have a bad side to it, such is Walmart, one of the top topic these days for cheating hours off their workers, low wages, and using public’s money (subsidies) for their business. There have been many reports against walmart, but we have rarely seen anything about it on the news or on any other popular site, and there have been too little thing done about it. Walmart have to be more in-check with the Union or the government, because walmart have done many things that hurt their employees and the community just for some profit, and get away with it. Some people might not see walmart as a threat of any kind, but walmart is a big trouble for our community, to small businesses, and our country’s economy.
Dan Cathy, the current boss of Chic-fil-A stated that their company is strongly support the family, with reference to the biblical definition of the family unit. He went on to say that “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that." (Gilgoff, 2012). In analyzing Dan’s statements, it is clear that there is a conflict of two separate cultures: the gay culture and the Christianity, which is a sacred one. The Chick-fil-A's boss the Christian news organization that he condemned of gay marriage.
From what I learned, there are some concerns about small-town businesses surviving after Walmart Store, Inc. opens a location. But, anytime a new business opens in a community there are concerns about local business future. I could worry about all that could be or could look at Walmart
Walmart has promised to create more American jobs by supporting more American manufacturing. Also, Walmart has pledged to purchase approximately $250 billion in products, by 2023. It makes great economic sense for American’s economy for Walmart to shift from foreign goods to domestic goods.
In the U.S. the working class are also exploited by the top elite, an example of this would be the Walmart franchise. Those who work in Walmarts are viewed by the wealthy owners as a way to make a dollar, not actually human beings. This means that they treat their employees unpleasantly and do unacceptable actions in general to make money. Firstly the company underpays women even though they make up about 57 percent of employees. In comparison to a man, a woman is paid about 1.16 dollars per hour less, and in a salary position of about 50,000 dollars or more, women are payed about 14,500 dollars less. However it is not only women who they steal from, they are known for stealing wages from many of their workers. For example by forcing their employees to work through lunch breaks, and other unpaid downtimes. Despite these problems and numerous more Walmart still runs on, with no real action to stop this mistreatment. The owners simply care about the rich upper class such as themselves, and no one else; “The company is the epitome of greed. As

Today with an annual revenue of $483 billion, Wal-Mart is the largest business worldwide. It has been very profitable for long-term stockholders to own stock in Wal-Mart. Regardless of the substantial success, there have been some struggles within the company in the past few years. In its fiscal 2014, Wal-Mart produced earnings-per-share of $5.11 and has declined since then. This was due to declines in net margins and sales.
In contrast, many people and organizations have argued that Walmart is not holding true to their original sustainable commitments. According to the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, Walmart's greenhouse gas emissions have continued to grow over the last 10 years, and it’s percentage of renewable energy is inadequate compared to other major corporations. Stacy Mitchell, the author of the report and a senior researcher at the Institute believes that the core issue behind Walmart’s lack of action is that they will not change their unsustainable business model to make sustainable advancements. She says that, "Walmart has a highly unsustainable business model, built on shipping goods long distances, selling mountains of very short-lived products,
Right now, Wal-Mart is thinking about neighborhood stores as another arrangement. Likewise, we have utilized that organization to break down the transferability of Wal-Mart's upper hands.
Grocery stores are full in America twenty- four hours every day, and also in gas stations, and airports. While you’re waiting for the next register, there’s one side showing skinny models with beautiful skin and in the other side, there’s delicious chocolate, some with peanut butter some with caramel. Difficult to resist, you end up buying a small chocolate bar, thinking its small but in reality it’s adding to the calories you have already eaten, and then your battle of urge to want another one. Including more processed and packaged foods, especially snacks. These foods are aimed for the consumer’s convenience, they are available in microwaveable containers and single serving sizes. They are quick and easy to cook, some even say “just add water”.
Wal-Mart is a company who also uses a cost leadership strategy. According to Dana Griffin, “to practice cost leadership, organizations compete for the largest number of customers through price” (n.d., para. 3). Unfortunately, this can only be accomplished when a company is able to standardized their goods or services for

Scott chews thoughtfully. “Well, they’re the exact same cake.” “But which one tastes better?” prods Calla. “Neither.” At Alice’s raised eyebrow-- obviously something she learned from him-- he admits, “Alice’s cake is a bit salty.”
