Two Products When deciding between whole milk and skim milk, most people including myself, base their choices on differences in taste, cost, and nutritional value. Personally I prefer whole milk over skim milk because whole milk has more nutritional value and tastes better. I will show a number of differences and similarities in these products. First I will talk about the information on whole milk. When we look to the characteristic of taste, we see that whole milk is superior. We see that many people prefer to have lots of fatty flavors in their diets, and the addition of whole milk into their diet would allow them to get the taste they love and still get a lot of nutrients. To buy skim milk would be a horrible thing to do just based on taste alone. When we look to the past, we see that skim milk is made of, used to be industrial waste. To make the milk its trademark white color, companies add powdered milk solids into the milk to make it look white instead of the blue it usually looks like. When we look at cost, the consumer will see that skim milk will win here. The reason skim milk is cheaper is because it has less cream, so it costs less. When we look to the characteristic of nutritional value, skim milk is lacking. Created from the industrial waste of whole milk, skim milk doesn’t have as much nutritional value as whole milk does. Often times people think that drinking skim milk lowers calorie consumption, but that is false because the consumer gets less fat in the skim milk, and the consumer feels less satisfied. When the consumer drinks skim milk he or she often eats lots of junk food instead of being satisfied with just milk. According to healthland.time.com, skim milk has almost no nutritional value. It has no Vitamin K and the other vitamins need fat to be absorbed into the body, which skim milk doesn’t offer. Also the same website stated that drinking skim milk can increase the likelihood of heart disease. So really drinking skim milk is a net harm, not a net gain. Also when the cows that are used to make skim milk are milked, they are often times sick. The FDA allows up to 750 million pus cells per liter of milk, which the consumer really doesn’t want to be drinking. So, I hope the consumer will drink whole milk over
