The Physician has completed several years of school. In order to even become a physician they must complete a four-year undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Students may consider taking courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology. They must also pass the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) to gain entry into medical school. The next course is to complete a 4-year medical school program, internship and residency in a hospital. An internship is usually a year long, while a medical residency may last between 3-7 years. Finally they must receive a state licensure this is mandatory, licensure requires passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination in order to be an OB-GYN.

An obgyn has a pretty amazing job they help others in need, and they deal with female things. I think i'd like the job because i honestly love kids with all my heart. Sometimes i think i'd be sad the baby. I don't know how i react if their were a baby to die, maybe i’d be okay but i don't know really. It'd be really sad if i were to be in with a patient and the baby come out dead or maybe not conscious. I don't know if i could handle it since i love babies so much and seeing one in bad condition would break me. Babies are so loveable and cute and i don't wanna see any of them in that condition ever. I think being an obgyn would be great but seeing a baby in bad condition wouldn't be the best.

Midwives are able to supervise, care and give advice to mothers during their pregnancy. Furthermore, they are able to detect any problems that may occur if there are abnormal changes in the mother and the baby and obtain specialist assistance if needed. Obstetricians provide care at public hospitals and mothers may be able to see one if they are on duty at the time of their appointment. Women are more likely to see an obstetrician if their pregnancy becomes complicated.

I have always been interested in the healthcare field, but it was not until my senior year in high school that I found obstetrics and women’s health. Midwives was considered “women's work”; they attended every birth throughout America. Every culture has a midwife even if they do not call it that. As the new medical specialty emerged, obstetrics, physicians began taking over the delivery of new babies to came which cause midwives jobs to decrease. There are two type of midwives, nurse - midwives and lay midwives. Nurse midwives assist with the deliver of the baby under close supervision of the physician. Lay midwives assist the deliver of a baby on their own. Today nurse midwives are registered nurses (RN) who are trained to deliver babies with physician supervision.

There are many types of nursing careers you can decide to take, the type of nursing career I chose is an OB/GYN nurse. OB/GYN is used as an abbreviation for the actual name of this career. The “OB” is short for obstetrics or for an obstetrician, which is a physician who specializes in delivering babies. “GYN” is short for gynecology or for gynecologist, which is a physician who specializes in treating diseases which develop in the female reproductive system. Therefore an OB/GYN Nurse is a type of nurse who helps deliver babies and which also helps treat diseases of the female reproductive system. An OB/GYN nurse can be in the delivery room helping out the doctor when the baby is born, or the nurse can also, while the patient is pregnant, take vital signs and do ultrasounds. OB/GYN nurses help women during pregnancy, labor, and childbirth. They also help women with health issues in their reproductive system.

Working in the medical field has always been a popular job, but it’s not an easy one. There are many routines to uphold and if you aren’t good with organization, then working in the hospital isn’t for you. I have chosen a career path to be a nurse anesthetist and this essay will tell you why.

I must also provide care and services that ensures that the macro and micro factors that may threaten my patients’ health are minimized. Additionally, it will be imperative for me to have measures in place, such as patient and staff review to ensure that I am delivering effective quality care to the women that come to my practice. In the future, I aspire to run a successful practice, within a community that already has one OB-GYN practice that has a monopoly on the discipline currently. Therefore, I will have significant competition, but If I ensure that I place the patient first, a factor that Don Berwick cites as being vital to help our system, then I will be able to run a successful practice that maximizes patient satisfaction and helps provide obstetric and gynecological services back to the community that raised me (Conaboy).
