According to Source 1, students are bullied because bullies think they are bigger, faster, stronger, or just better than the victim. According to www.stompoutbullying.org, kids bully because they don't get enough attention at home, or they are raised to think it is okay. Bystanders are worse than bullies because they encourage the bully, they cause the victim's pain, if there weren't bystanders, there would be less bullies, and the bystanders will have to live with immense pain and guilt if the victim commits suicide.

For example, there were 41,149 suicides in 2013, according to www.cdc.gov, that means about 20,500 of those were caused by bullying. Bystanders could have stopped those by reporting the bullying.
