I do not believe that employees should bring their dogs to work. Not everyone likes dogs. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that dogs will be well-behaved at the office. Also, they will need to be cared for throughout the day. First, not everyone cares for dogs. Many Americans are allergic to dogs. Therefore, allowing dogs in the office is likely to cause physical distress for some employees, creating an unhealthy workplace for them.
Second, there is no guarantee that your dog will be well-behaved at the office. Some dogs bark at the slightest noise, and others chew, whine, or jump up on people. Even pets that are well-behaved at home may become unpredictable around new people or in an unfamiliar enviroment. Not only is
Deciding whether or not I should agree with dogs being allowed in our work place was very tricky for me. I appreciate your desire to make sure every employee feels comfortable and stress-free at work. Also, I adore dogs and would love to able to have my furry-friend alongside me all day long. However, after looking at the pro's and con's, I'd have to say I do not agree with this idea.
I, along with the author of, "Against Bringing Dogs to Work," believe that dogs should not be allowed in the workplace because they can be a distraction or harm other employees or property.
With that being said, dogs can be a big hazard. There are a number of possibilities on how a dog could cause our workplace to be harmful. If not well trained they could have the potential to bite, jump all over people, lay where it could cause someone to trip or even act wild here being a different environment. This could lower our employees safety rates and cause us potential lawsuits. A lawsuit could also cause two coworkers to not get along leading to stress between them and those around them.
Personally, I like dogs and currently have two living in my home. However, that does not mean that i would just love to have them in my workplace. My job consist of other employees that or in the office alone with me that I have to also consider upon making this decision. My co-workers may be allergic to dogs. However, some may just be terrified of dogs. I don't think that having them to submit to being in the presents of dogs on the job would be professional.
Response #1 brings up 3 valid points in support of a “Bring your dog to work” program. Firstly, they pointed out that pets tend to make people less stressed in the workplace. However, many people today are afraid or anxious about dogs. Dogs can be traumatizing and cause distress among select employees, as Response #2 points out.
I also think it is a bad idea to bring your dog to work. Many employees might be allergic to dogs. Some dogs are not well trained to be around other people. Dogs need alot of attention from their owner. They tend to bark at the slightless noice. What if the owner of a dog have
Although bringing dogs to work may sound like a warm and soothing work environment, I do not believe it is all that great for a work place. Dogs as well as many pets are unpredictable and can snap at any given minute causing unsafe work procedures. Long work hours may also cause an issue between employees and dogs needing proper care and maitnance. Sanitation will also be a big issue as well, creating germs and bacteria in the work place may cause some fellow employees to get sick and have to lose work for some time. Dogs are great family pets but are not meant for work and could create many issues in any given work station.
I can see how people might be worried about the dogs misbehaving, but there are ways around this. Before the dog is allowed in the workplace, there can be a list of requirements. This list could
First, You cannot bring your dog to work if your dog is too big and takes up a lot of space. Dogs move a lot and they could be all over the place, making messes. You would be spend more time cleaning that actually working. Dogs can be cute and loving, but is like putting a baby to do your homework, it just doesn't work. You can take your dog anywhere, but why take it to work? Just leave them at home, i'm sure they will understand.
Bringing dogs to work is not a good idea. To allow employees to bring their dogs to work will be a distraction for them and may lead to a desatisfaction job or result. Having pets at work will be a distraction for employees and mostly for who are allergic or afraid to pets because they will be looking around to ensure that they are safe. Another possibility example to not bring pets to work is that it may lead to a disatisfaction job in order, pets owners will take most of their time to take care of their pets instead of doing correct their jobs. This delay can easily affect the job as well the result of a project.
Having dogs in the workplace can be too distracting to all present. Though having your pet with you while at work might have benefits to productivity it will most likely have the opposite effect. As an owner of three dogs I can tell you that taking care of a pet is a job in itself. You have to feed them, taken out and given attention to. Having to do this throughout the work day is not good. By having do these things you'll get less work done. Dogs love
Bringing a dog to work might sound fun and relaxing, but there is also some disadvantages of having your dog at work. Yes, they may be cute, but they can easily distract you and others. Some people might even be allergic. Most dogs need an environment that has open space and roaming room, not some closed office. Taking your dog to work might be fun and all, but can be very complicated.
In additon there is no guarantee dogs would behave at the office. They would bark, chew on chairs, and decks. Jump on people and genreally be a noosunce. Even the most well behaved dogs act up in new enviroments. This could also be distracting
There are many pros and cons, when it comes to bringing your dog to work here. There are many employees how have dogs, and need to take care of them so; therefore they are less willing to stay behind and do extra hours. As for employees without dogs will be more willing to stay and do extra hours if asked to. This is something to consider before starting this prgram.
Have you ever wondered what German Shepherds do other than play fetch, eat, and sleep? Most people that own dogs teach them to sit, stay, come, and they also teach them to obey their owners. They are the family pets that sit on our laps all the time, bark at people when they come to the door, and chase the mailman in the summer when the family is outside. Work dogs have jobs such as being police dogs, military dogs, guide dogs, and herding dogs.
