Why Do Guns Should Be Allowed In Schools

Imagine a world where school shootings did not exist. Parents could send their children to school without having to worry about them being shot. In 2013, thirty school shootings took place in the United States. The most devastating school shooting in U.S. history was the Bath School shooting. On May 18, 1927, Andrew Kehoe entered the Bath Elementary School killing thirty-eight people and injuring fifty-eight. Kehoe then returned to his truck, and committed suicide by using explosives. School teachers would have a better chance, in high risk situations if they carried guns.

The debate of whether or not teachers should be allowed to carry guns in school is very heated and continues to dilemma the minds of many. However, both the supportive and opposing parties have good grounds that can be used to choose. Recently in the year 2012, 26 people in elementary school in Texas were shot dead triggering public demand that teachers should be armed with guns in order to protect our students. A local resident of the area around the elementary school opened fire on 20 students and 6 staff before he shot himself dead. Maybe, just maybe this could have been avoided if the teachers were armed with fire arms. This however might send the wrong message to students, making them believe that it is okay to carry guns around or shoot people. Are our children safer with guns in school or without? The answer lies only by examining the cause and effect of this idea.

Although people may say that school administration should be able to carry concealed weapons on school campus for protection of themselves and their students, it is a very bad and dangerous decision. Bringing concealed weapons into schools could cause many tragic things to happen such as a child or teen to possibly pick up the weapon and harm themselves or others, having an unintentional discharge occur in class and it could also cause an increase in violent behavior. So, no administration has no business carrying concealed weapons to school for any reason. It's a bad idea and would just cause heart ache and a lot of unneeded stress.

How many children have to die, before we realize that teachers being armed WILL prevent any more lives taken away in school shootings.

Teachers should not be allowed to carry guns during school because students could discover it and use it on somebody at school. A student could harm another student for no reason it will not be safe for teachers to carry guns because students feel like that will not help reduce the problem of school shootings. There is no reason teachers should have guns when students could find it and use it in school. When a teacher has a gun in the classroom students, don't feel safe. Parents of students should talk to their child about gun safety to help stop gun violence during school.

School shootings, it seems like every time you turn around there is a crazy person shooting up a school. all you can do is shake your head and wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to go to a school filled with innocent little children and shoot them. the problem here is that people who shouldn't have guns get guns and stuff like this happens. in my opinion i don't think it will help to amend or repeal the second amendment. but if i had to choose i would choose to amend it.people should be allowed to take a gun into and building except church people would be able to protect themselves if something were to happen. there is no reason to get rid of it because people who want a gun that bad will get one. getting rid of the right to own

I would feel anxious and distracted. I think that as more people are able to carry a handgun, there is a greater chance of an incident to happen. However, I do see how some would feel protected carrying a handgun. I just do not think that it is necessary.

There have been several cases of kids mistaking a handgun for a toy only because it was left in the open and within reach of a child. The average citizen should not be allowed to have handguns in their homes because handguns can be a danger to kids and adults at school and work. These numbers will continue to rise unless the government steps up to the plate and comes up with a law that puts an end to handguns one person and in their home.

The gun control has to be enforced everywhere because it will decrease school shootings and malls shooting. The gun control should happen because of many death in schools. Also, the children in the school are getting scared because of the shooting that is happening. Gun control will protect the people that are getting hurt by a weapon like a gun. The reason gun control should happen is so the people shouldn’t get hurt from the process.

Though with all this data about how concealed carry reduces violent crime rate, many people still believe that guns are bad; most of their arguments state that guns are destroying our society. Due to the recent mass shootings, there has been various gun control debates whether to prohibit guns in public places such as schools or decreasing restrictions on owning a gun. One of the deadliest shootings that has occurred, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012 in which there was a total of 28 dead deaths- 20 children, 6 adult staff members, the perpetrator’s mother, and the perpetrator- have made people fear their lives especially about the lives of people at schools (Underwood). People ask themselves and wonder if there is a resolution to gun violence. Gun ownership shouldn’t be factored into the stressful life of college individuals. Therefore, I strongly feel that their college campuses or schools in particular shouldn’t be allowed to have guns.
