The first amendment is the most important part of the Constitution because it has been the most exercised right by U.S citizens. First amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Meaning, as citizens, the Constitution protects our freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly and petition the government. This amendment is a good reflection of what America represents, equality for all.
As you can see, the first Amendment gives us plenty of freedoms that would be tough to live without. Only the first Amendment allows us to join any religious faith, speak against the government when necessary, publish
The First Amendment is one of the most beneficial amendments in our constitution. The 1st amendment was the first amendment ratified by congress. Its was ratified in the year 1791. The first amendment protects your five basic rights: freedom of speech, religion, the press, assembly and petition. This means that the government can’t set up an official church for the country or review and edit newspapers before they are printed. This amendment is essential to having a successful government. Imagine our government without the right to petition a law or act you think is wrong or have an assembly with local politicians. This amendment is important to me personally because I am a Muslim, a minority the U.S. So without the freedom to practice whatever religion I want, my family and I would not be a able to live here. This is why the 1st amendment is critical to me, and the rest of the United States.
Owning a gun is legal in the United States for self-defense or hunting or sports, and it’s the second amendment. However, in recent years, violence has significantly increased in the USA because of guns. There are more cases of children and young adults engaging in violence or getting caught in the crossfire. It is shameful to say that almost every day we hear about some gun violence. Guns can be used for self-defense or sports, however they also can be used for robbing, shooting and many other violent purposes. We can get safety and reduce crime rate by banning guns. These are the reasons why guns should be banned.
Throughout American History looking all the way back to the late 18th Century and the Revolutionary War, there have been many qualities that set America apart from all other countries. Documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights bestowed upon Americans have spelled out some of these very qualities that Americans hold dear. One right that is often brought to the forefront of the argument over gun control is found within the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The 2nd Amendment of the Bill of Rights states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”(1). This powerful statement sets the foundation and
Did you know you are 4 times more likely to be killed with a knife or other cutting instrument than you are by a rifle or a shotgun? Gun rights and gun control are always hot items during any political discussion, whether it is between peers or politicians. One of the many great advantages to being an American is the ability to choose for one's own self what to believe in. Another advantage, in my opinion, is the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Laws should not restrict gun rights because first, it would infringe the second amendment, second, guns are a part of our culture, and finally, if guns were outlawed, citizens of the U.S. would become vulnerable.
Due to the British oppression, every American, including our founding founders, wanted greater protection of their rights. To accomplish this, James Madison drafted the Bill of Rights and by the end of 1791, every state had ratified the first ten amendments. The First Amendment is primary, not just because it is at the beginning, but because it articulates the First Freedom and the nature of that freedom. It states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” By connecting the freedom of religion with the freedoms of speech and press, the First Amendment showed the people of America what it is to be a human (Bill of Rights).
The first amendment formed our country and brought us together to be the free country we are. The first amendment talks about how we get the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, Freedom of press. Amendment 1 is the most important Amendment because it doesn’t allow Congress to make laws about respending religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, and abridging the freedom of speech or press.
The second amendment entitles the people to own or bear arms. Many people today believe that gun rights should be repealed or removed for the Bill of Rights, but I believe that this is one of our very first amendments and it is one of the most important ones, because it keeps the government from imposing tyranny or an oppressive government upon the people. The second amendment also give us the ability to protect ourselves without the government taking the right away from you. History is filled with stories of government overpowering people, and without the second amendment these problems will repeat themselves. The past couple of months this year believe that gun laws or rights are being violated, and many people are voting to repeal the second amendment because of these people hurting others with the right to own a gun.
The Second Amendment is the most important because it provides defense towards americans. “Many have been surprised by the lack of resistance by the European Jews who were killed by the millions in the Nazi concentration and death camps during the Second World War. Yet when some of the people were able to gain access to weapons, they did resist, even when they knew the end was most likely to be the same.” (Ebeling, The Daily Bell) Many people were killed during WW2 and mostly was because of the lack of guns. If they possessed a gun they would have a higher chance of survival. “A gun can be a great equalizer for the weak and the defenseless, especially if an intended victim doesn't have to waste precious seconds fumbling with the key to a mandatory trigger lock.” (Ebeling, The Daily Bell) This proof tells you that a gun can be used in order to guarantee your defense and safety. There are many stories about americans that lived just
The Ten Amendments built the foundation for our country, but the one the amendment that makes us who we are as Americans in my opinion is the First Amendment. As Americans, we all like to boast how we have the Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, and our Freedom to Assemble. So, how could any of this be possible without the First Amendment?
The 1st amendment came from the people of America and they wanted the people to have freedom, but not too much that the Country will be in ruins“Restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions. It is the one un-American act that could most easily defeat us." so they set boundaries so they people won’t kill the nation. People were killing people because people were not doing the ways of the what some people wanted the other people wanted to do so they killed them and got away.Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.-John Milton But after the amendments were made fewer people killing and violently assembling because of the 1st amendment. The 1st amendment is important because it lets people Peacefully
Also, in many other countries, the freedom of speech is illegal, in China you would be arrested for speaking your mind, but here we are safe. We can also pick our religion to practice without hiding in the dark because we do not want anyone to find out about it. The first amendment also grants the people of America the right to gather and peacefully protest if we do not like something that the government leaders have chosen to do. Moreover, the first amendment guarantees us that I have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom to protest. The next amendment that locks freedom in for the American people is the fourth amendment. The fourth amendment from the bill of rights states that “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon
5. The vast majority of gun owners are not all crackpots. It’s just those few who are mentally ill and take a gun and kill innocent people. Most people keep a gun
Gun ownership should be banned in order to reduce crime rates and ensure the protection of our nation’s people. Throughout the United States, gun control has become a controversial issue due to gun advocates strongly believing their 2nd Amendment rights guarantee them legal access to guns. Although gun advocates view gun ownership as self defense, the government and gun control supporters have noticed that legal distribution of guns has been linked to school shootings, homicide, and violent crimes. Furthermore, legal distribution of guns increases the risk of harming innocent people while declining the police’s power to establish safety in society. Overall, in order to prevent the destruction of our country, the people must work together to ban gun ownership and ratify the 2nd Amendment rights clarifying its purpose to the public.
