I believe people are bad at heart. I think people are bad at heart because when they have the chance to help other people they don’t. “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”People help themselves more that the help others.”Sympathy,love,fortune...We all have these qualities but still tend to not use them.”We all have the tools and courage as well as the awareness to help support each other just why do we choose not to.”No one has ever become poor by giving.”It won’t hurt to sacrifice a little generosity for another person. It doesn’t just take one person to be bad it is like a disease it can spread from person to person.“Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.”Just one candle and just one person can make a difference,it doesn’t take more than one to define the darkness. But …show more content…
“How noble and good everyone could be if, every evening before falling asleep, they were to recall to their minds the events of the whole day and consider exactly what has been good and bad. Then without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day.”Not everyone is willing to forgive for what someone or something did what could not be reversed.“Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.”The things that we don’t choose to leave behind are the ones we hold dear, but when it comes to hate or trying to get even with someone it will never leave our heads. “If we bear all this suffering and if there are still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will be held up as an example.” “If we bear all this suffering and if there are still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will be held up as an example.” No matter how big the problem the solution is always
This sentence givers light to why he named the book The Luminous Darkness because from any darkness in someone’s life, God still casts His light everywhere. It matters where we get our light from because having the wrong light source can lead to bad things, but with the right light we can create ourselves to be a better human, one who sees how God created us to be.
"Nearly every moment of every day we have the opportunity to give something to someone else - our time, our love, our resources. I have always found more joy in giving when I did not expect anything in return." --- S. Truett Cathy, Chic-Fil-A founder
2. The main idea of this quote is that not everything inherently given to you is meant to be acted upon. For example, say a woman has been cheated on by her previous boyfriend. From then on, she is skeptical, and has trust issues with future lovers; Those of which cause her to believe that it’s okay to have all of their social media passwords, and forbid them from being friends with other girls. Sure, she has the right to do so; She has been hurt. But on the other side of the spectrum, her future boyfriends didn’t do anything to deserve that. This quote still proves useful today, because it helps readers see another perspective than theirs, and question their moral standpoint.
To light a candle is to cast a shadow” (pg.
“Good people sometimes make bad decisions. They mess up, and they let others down. But that doesn't make them bad people. We all make mistakes. ”-Unknown.
One more quote is "Humility like darkness reveals the heavenly lights. " We all need to strive for this, to be more humble. Humility is becoming rare in our society, causing a lot of problems. Poverty is all around us but yet people are greedy, this is the tragedy the world has to
Integrity it is not just performing an act of kindness, but the morals you stand behind when you do do the act. The level of honesty, the willingness to do what is right and moral commitments all these add up to equal the level of integrity you hold yourself to. I do not think I have performed, the level of integrity that this quote is talking about, but I have
And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.” this is a quote by the Dalai Lama and it is very true. Doing something good by helping people is a chain reaction, because if I help one person by doing something, then they might be impacted and they could pass it on by doing something nice too. That could make the world a much better place, by spreading happiness and helpfulness one person at a time.
FAITH IN HUMANITY At the bottom of Pandora’s Box, there’s still hope. After all of the evils of the world have gone out and plagued all the aspects of our lives, there is still that part that keeps us in check. Now, for some, this balance comes from those who take the worst of their lives and turn it into the best. These are the instances in life where the people in normal circumstances do extraordinary things for the sake of making everything better, despite what is required to get it done. While humanity on a whole is arguable selfish at the core, with exception for the beliefs of Plato, there are still those instances, those people, who remind us of what happens when select people go out of their way to help.
This quote shows that people can be different then they can be, people can ultimately change for the worst.
At some point in our lives we are all faced with difficult emotional discomfort. One of the toughest parts is choosing what we perceive to be the right course of action. “Forgiveness is essential for healing and experiencing our wholeness. Yet, in order to experience our wholeness, no part of us can be repressed, denied, or overlooked” (Casarjian, pg. 48). This part of the book was very relatable to me.
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved."
“In spite of everything I still believe people are truly good at heart.” Anne Frank wrote this quote in her diary. I do believe that people are truly good at heart. Though sometimes people don’t do the right thing, people are generous towards each other, even during bad times. People take care of each other and help each other when they need it. When things are bad, people try to have an optimistic attitude.
“From 1933 to 1939, hundreds of thousands of Jews who were able to leave Germany did, while those who remained lived in a constant state of uncertainty and fear” (“The Holocaust” 1). This explains that the Jews are being held hostage in an area that is unsafe. If humans were kind to one another, the Jews would not be in that position. Besides the widespread hunger and poverty, overpopulation lead to diseases (“The Holocaust” 1). This proves that the Germans treated the Jews terribly and they were not nice enough to let them go.
Do you think all people have good in them? Anne Frank said, “Despite everything I believe that people are truly good at heart.” Are people good at heart or are they not? All people have good in them, they just deny to express the good inside. In the story the German guard was talking with the prisoners and the guard felt bad for him and gave him some extra bread to eat.
