Vending Machines In Schools? I personally think yes but, also at the same time no here is why. Vending machines are found all across the United States, 43% of elementary schools have them, 74% of middle schools have them lastly, 98% percent of high schools have vending machines them. Schools have vending machines in them because they can have healthy snacks but, that does not always mean they do though. The schools earn profit each and every year but its because they buy the snacks so the kids will buy them because some kids do not eat breakfast and they need a snack to get them through the rest of the day or until lunch . A big issue with vending machines in schools is the high calorie snacks and drinks cause obesity. Hopefully
We should have vending and soda machines in the hall because some kids are poor and either don't get anything at home to eat or just get hungry fast because they got little to eat. Even if you are not pore you might have not had time to grab something to eat. And if you either don't get anything or you don't have anything and you don't like the cafeteria food you have nothing to eat for most of the day.
Schools do a “good” job in promoting certain healthy foods in their cafeterias. Yes, students do not enjoy eating them but it is for their good. The fact that schools sell the “baked” chips is a good and a bad idea. It is a good idea because they are healthier than the regular chips sold in grocery stores and smaller than regular sizes. The bad part comes to the fact that they are still being sold and most students prefer to purchase them instead of fruits. In my case, I know I would prefer to eat those chips instead of the fruits. Vending machines are rarely seen in schools but the schools that do have them do not have healthy items inside. Sodas and junk snacks are what are mostly seen in those vending machines along with others. Students
Do you think that there should be vending machines in middle school. I think there should be because kids would be more energized. Also the school would make more money off of it.
To continue on in the article it gives the statement that I found to be true, “The sale of unhealthy high-calorie snacks and drinks in school vending machines undermines these efforts to ensure access to healthy
Some of my favorite reasons are: students get hungry throughout the day because of their metabolism. Also, it contributes to the school’s profits. My last example, this will benefit kids who don’t have a lunch period or cannot afford a school lunch. I would like to form a committee of people that would like to put an effort. I would like them to ask their friends to join and help this action be put into its place. My last action is to get people to sign my petition and get it verified. Help the schools get all around vending machines it may seem like snacks but it’s more then
Schools should have vending machines. Schools should vending machines because some students have afterschool activities. In addition, some students wait for their parents for a long time which makes them hungry. Plus, students may have end of the day P.E. Students can get hungry from doing after school activities. Students can get hungry
First of all, schools should have vending machines. If a child did not bring a snack he or she can buy one. Kids might not get as hungry in class. With the money used to buy the snacks the school could raise funds. For these reasons schools should have vending machines.
Vending machines should be allowed in every school. Most students do not eat school lunch; others cannot leave school campus to go get lunch. And many do not bring lunch from home. Throughout school I am not really hungry, but a snack here and there is good. Not all vending machines have to have unhealthy snacks in them. Another good reason to have vending machines in school is to help school profit. With the money a school makes in a vending machine, they could buy new school supplies. So much money can be made off vending machines. A big issue with having vending machines is that the high calorie snacks cause obesity. That is not true because not all snacks are unhealthy. Having vending machines give students the right to make the decision
I’d love to get a soda at times during school hours but I refuse to buy a diet anything . I am glad all natural sugars are used versus artificial anything. It’s very satisfying to have a ice cold coke after a long day's work or play. I think sodas Like - Mountain Dew, coke, sprite, Big Red, and so forth should be added to the vending machine . I am sure the machines would be used more and the money they already bring in would triple . I think the students should have a voice in what we have in our vending machines. I get it , it’s a luxury not a need ,but how great it is to have something that most of us don’t want /use. besides if you do your research on diet versus coke or diet anything verses not diet you see that they aren't healthier they don’t help you maintain a healthy weight . So there for a sugary taste will make a sweet
If schools raise money by selling these products they are largely responsible for the future generation of obesity. Obesity is one of the key factors in many health related diseases, for example diabetes, heart disease and cancers. These illness will lead to death if left untreated and cost the nation millions of dollars a year in treatment.
The first reason that I think that there should be soda machines and vending machines available to student at GMS is because sometimes kids want other things to drink other than having to drink milk and juice and water everyday for lunch and breakfast. Drinking the same thing everyday gets tiring. Some things that we have for lunch in the cafeteria are not good with milk.
Many schools nowadays turn off their vending machines during the school day to prevent students from eating fattening foods. In California and Hawaii, state legislators are very close to passing a law that would ban any drinks excluding milk, water or juice from being sold in elementary schools, and reduce the hours older students can use the vending machines. Michelle Obama and the Obama Administration have asked Congress to improve children's nutrition by getting rid of school vending machines that provide students with sugary snacks and drinks. The problem with this is school’s are making an extravagant amount of money off feeding their students with artificial flavoring and
I think vending machines should be allowed at schools in America because of these three reasons. To begin with it makes the school money. Another reason is that some students don’t have enough energy to stay awake in class. Also the machines could carry drinks and students can get drink.
To begin with, one of the advantages of having vending machines in schools is that they generate revenue and help fund school programs. Many school districts use vending machines as a means of raising money for school renovations and student activities. According
My opinion about having vending machines in school is no because kids need to eat more healthy, also people just skip lunch and go to the vending machines and eat a lot of food that is not good for you and there are just kids wasting all there money on the vending machines. Finally there a lot of people that just wait in a long line and it’s mostly at the end of school. So that is why I think vending machines should not be in schools.
