Over two hundred years ago our forefathers wrote the constitution of the United States and made our right to bear arms in the second amendment. However, many things have changed over the years and what seemed to be a great idea then, it doesn’t work now. I strongly believe that the government should make gun laws tougher and make it hard to own weapons. Certain laws should be in place to make it harder to obtain weapons. Stricter gun control laws will ensure drop in violent crimes, prevent household firearm accidents, and create a more peaceful society. Some would argue that people create violence and not the guns but we can’t help to see the role of a gun when it comes to violence. Guns create a lot of violence in our world and nowadays almost everyone has weapon weather they obtained the weapon through legal or illegal ways. Years back, people would kill each other with knifes, in fist fights, and clubs. Nowadays, guns are drawn and aftermaths are irreversible. The world has changed a …show more content…
I saw this movie called “The Purge” at the movie theaters where there was a lot of violence. Weapons where used and there was no peace at all. I personally believe it would even be better if there would be no guns. There would be less deaths and no one will be scared of getting shot. The gangs would become weaker and the crime level will drop making it a peaceful societies. It would be easy to defend self with fists or bats and the results won’t be deadly. For example, trying to rob a bank with a knife would be impossible. In my opinion, the world will be a thousand times better place for children because they are the victims most of the time and their families would be at peace because their children won’t die of their own guns. The fear would be reduced from people’s minds and they could lead a peaceful
There was a horror and tragedy on Sunday , Oct. 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas. The shooting was dreadful because the shooting was at a concert. According to cbs news there is nearly one mass shooting per day. There needs to be more Gun control with gun control there would be less shootings around the world.
Some people believe that the United States is safer when citizens are not allowed access to guns. The amount of organized crime would go down because all of their power is derived from their use of firearms and that is a significant amount of their profit. Gun control laws protect children and families; Moms Demand Action, a grassroots group founded in response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, believes guns in America are creating a public health crisis that is attacking children, citing statistics
The guns have been an integral part of American societies. Throughout the history, it has been using for protecting nation, self-defense, protecting family and hunting for food and sporting activities by the American citizens. But other hand, it is a most controversial, highly discussed, and making issue on the US politics that has been existing today. The 2nd Amendment of the American constitution provides rights to bear arms, but people are killing of acquitted babies, women and even mass day by day. How many innocent American should die to control gun and should all the citizens have that
In this argumentative essay we will be arguing about gun laws are getting too strict but things like, school shootings, murders, and other violent things aren’t getting fixed by these laws on guns.
More than 32,000 people die each year in the United States alone due to gun related violence. These people are robbed of their future because of the carelessness of others, or even themselves. Their family and friends are no longer able to see them. All of this, because of one pull of a trigger. Many people die from gun violence each year. In order to prevent these unnecessary deaths, there should be stricter gun laws to prevent the severe loss of life, suicide, and school shootings.
Through 1999 and 2013, there were approximately 464,033 deaths by guns (ProCon.org). The U.S. should enforce gun control to minimize the amount of deaths by firearms. The debate of whether gun control laws should be enforced or not began in 2002, when at least 20 children were killed in a mass shooting in Connecticut. On average, 96 deaths occur daily and about 13,000 gun homicides strike the U.S. yearly. The origines for America’s extensive ties to guns originates from the Second Amendment, revolutionary roots, and frontier expansion. The U.S. should enforce gun control laws to reduce gun deaths and prevent hazardous situations between two or more enemy parties.
The problem with guns is fairly obvious: they decrease the difficulty of killing or injuring a person. In Jeffrey A. Roth's Firearms and Violence (NIJ Research in Brief, February 1994), he points out the obvious dangers. About 60 percent of all murder victims in the United States in 1989 (about 12,000 people) were killed with firearms. Firearm attacks injured another 70,000 victims, some of whom were left permanently disabled. In 1985, the cost of shootings was an estimated $14 billion nationwide for medical care, long-term disability, and premature death. In robberies and assaults, victims are far more likely to die when the perpetrator is armed with a gun than when he or she has another weapon or is unarmed.
Those kinds of gun controls should be the bare minimum that the government does. Gun control laws should go even further, restricting gun ownership only to people who go through gun handling classes, extensive background checks, permits, and liability insurance. It should be harder to get a gun than it is to get a driver's licence. To get a driver's licence you have to go through a class, pass a written and driving test, and have proof of insurance.
Whether we should create stricter gun control laws, is an extremely controversial debate in our country. Many people argue that they own a firearm to protect themselves and their family. There are ways to create stricter gun laws that still protect our second amendment. When comparing America to other countries who do have higher restrictions on gun control, such as Canada, the number of casualties due to firearms is a dramatic difference.
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States yet in 2016 there were 762 gun related homicides, 3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims. Despite strict gun laws Chicago had one of the deadliest years in history, so are the laws really working? Strict gun control does not mean that the amount of gun related crime will decrease. So, what is the point in making strict gun control laws?
: Have you wondered why people use gun violence to solve their problems,? I wish I can tell you, I cant, because I don't know. I can tell you this though, on an average day 96 Americans are killed by a gun. Everyone person that is killed with guns, two more are injured. Seven children and teens are killed with guns in u.s on an average day. Now, that's a lot of people getting killed or injured with guns and keep in mind there are other ways people get killed in u.s but guns are one of them. A lot of people like young people lose a lot of freedom. They probably can’t walk the streets anymore because their family/parents are worried about some type of gun violence." The effect of the awareness and fear of violence and crime on young people and the loss of freedom that results. On average, 34 Americans are murdered with guns every day and 151 are treated for a gun assault in an emergency room “Princeton University Press, 2006”.
I'd figure I might as well talk about the shooting at the San Antonio Baptist Church as well as gun control and terrorism.
Gun control is a good thing and beneficial for the society. Gun control law reduces the crime rate, reduces number of suicide deaths, reduces the number of less mass shootings, and reduces the accidental gun deaths. For example, “Both international and national multivariate analyses show that gun control legislation reduces overall fatalities related to firearms. This correlation is true for Canada and Australia, which adopted and maintained stricter gun control laws” (90). If you take away the guns, there is nothing that you need to defend yourself from gun violence and therefore without guns, it will be more peaceful. On the other hand, guns are essential for: formers who live near the forest (to protect themselves from wild animals) professional
Weapons aren't safe for people and communities. But guns can also be safe for our communities because what if someone tries to rob someone when the person is at sleep. The first thing to do it go towards the weapon/gun and try to scare of that person because it might want to harm the person's family so yes, guns are helpful for our community because we are trying to keep the person and its family safe. More than 30,000 people died in gun-related incidents in the United States. Homicide was the 15th-leading cause of death in the United States in 2009. And guns were involved in more than 68% of those deaths. Among some of the wealthiest and most powerful countries in the world, the United States homicide rate is one of the highest. The homicide rate in the United States is 12 times that of Japan. 270 people in America, 47 of them children and teens, are shot in murders, assaults, suicides, accidents and police intervention. 87 people die from gun violence, 33 of them murdered. 8 children and teens die from gun violence. 183 people are shot, but survive their gun injuries. 38 children and teens are shot, but survive their gun injuries.Repeated studies have shown that the presence of a gun boosts the risk of gun-related violence in the home. 2.7 times increased risk of homicide 4.8 times increased risk of suicide. Suicide rates
Guns have been apart of the human race for centuries now. They provide a means of survival and furthermore, protection. Though, some may disagree with that and I think otherwise. If we could live in a world without guns or weapons of mass destruction, I think everything would be a tad bit more at ease. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that way and it probably won’t be that way for a while. However, that doesn’t dismiss the fact that the crime rate is higher in states that have strict gun laws, that guns prevents mass-genocide, and that guns provide a means of protection and survival.
