Including women in war is critically unwarranted. The female gender does not have rights, therefore, they are against being pushed into war. Women did not want to send their sons to war due to the possibility of them being affected by the war. Since the draft started at 21, women do not want their children risking their lives at such a young age.

As the US military opens combat roles to women, several politicians ask that registration for the draft be required for women, eliciting the support of some young Americans.

Women should be required to sign up for the draft. The main reason why we weren't required to sign up is that we were deemed the caretakers and needed to stay home and take care of the kids. The issue with this is because there are families where there is only one dad or two dads where all/both dads are required to sign up and -worst case scenario- then the kids would be left alone. There are also women who are twice as qualified to be in the army as some men and just because you're a man it doesn't mean you're fit to be in the

Women have had a rough way to go for many years when it comes to equality. They face many negative things in today’s society and that is the way it has been for many years. History shows that women have been fighting for equality for decades, because many people believe they just can’t do the things that men can. There’s a website that has been helping women fight for that equality since 1966. That website is www.now.org. Before then women never really had any help. They had to rely on each other to show everyone what they could really do. Women have fought to try and end discrimination when it comes to jobs and economic justice. Women’s rights and equalities have always been an issue. Women first began their fight for equality in 1776, when the Congress was working on the Declaration of Independence. During the late 1840s, women set up the first women’s rights convention, which was the starting point of the women’s rights movement. In 1861, men were getting called off to war, leaving their wives and kids at home to wait patiently and care for the house and children. Women did not take too well to that idea, and they began to take action. Women have always fought for their right to stand alongside men. The three major events for the fight to gain rights and equality for women were the “Remembering the Ladies” declaration, the Civil War, and the Women’s Rights Movement.

Throughout the Civil war and both world wars there have been men who volunteered their time to serve. But changed overtime when men between the ages of 18-25 would be selected to serve in the military through a lottery. This was called the Selective Service or the American Draft.

The draft began in 1940, when President Roosevelt signed the Selective Training and Service Act, requiring all men eighteen and older to sign up for the draft in case we ever have a lack of troops to defend America’s freedom, or another world war. In Rostker v. Goldberg in 1981, the Supreme Court decided that omitting women from the requirement to sign up for the draft was not, in fact, unconstitutional (Women and the Draft, sss.gov). However, as of today, there has been much speculation as to whether or not the gender restriction will be lifted.

Females should in fact be obligated to register with the Selective Service. Not only are more men stepping up and caring for their families, but women are fighting for their rights to be equal to men, and also are equipped to live the military lifestyle. Both sexes being required to sign up for the draft seems like a perfect opportunity for men and women to become equals.

From the beginning time the woman has just as many rights the man has. At the first creation the male and the female were equal and they share the same name. Genesis chapter five verse 2, and God called their name Adam. It’s the lack and the inability that a man can’t accept woman to be equal to a man. I know many women that are the bread winners of their family. In America with the divorce rate at 53% women are raising these children with the help of State and Federal in some cases. Where are most of the fathers? There were women have been a part of the war effort since the Revolutionary War, but in the early days of our nation they had to cloak themselves in disguise to serve alongside men. In my opinion women are allow to fight on the battlefield along with men, but not have the same rights as men do. There are three major subjects I would like to discuss where women are being mistreated.

Only men are required to actually sign up for the draft after turning 18 years old.

Some people want to make change to something they believe in or something that is unfair in their opinion, and this will benefit themselves and others. Throughout the history of America, women have struggled with equality and having the same rights as men. In 1870, the 15th amendment was passed,

A lot of people think that women should not get drafted in the military. I personally do not think that women should get drafted because who is going to stay home and watch the kids, clean the house, and make dinner. Yes there are a lot of women that are going to disagree with me just because they think that they should have equal rights to men which they do they just do not understand that. Some reasons for women to no be drafted is because they cannot pick a 180 pound man if they are 100 pounds, they cannot neccsraily do everything men can do and they need to stay at home and take care of the children.

Throughout the U.S history, women have fought a long journey in order to be treated fairly and equally. When women arrived to this country, they were seen as housewives who only served their families, nothing less and nothing more. As time progressed, many women started to disagree with the idea of being just housewives and believed they were capable of many great things such as having the right to vote, and being able to work outside of home. Since the beginning of time women were never treated as equals to men. Men have always been seen as stronger and the providers for their families. Women are often viewed as the nurturers and caregivers for their family. Women’s role in society has always been to make sure that everyone is happy and healthy while, men go out and work to make sure that women have the necessities they need to keep everyone happy.
