People or Guns?
Safety: the definition must have changed. It used to mean someone, something, or somewhere that provided someone comfort and no harm. Now there is no true safety, there is no genuine comfort, and there is no way to get out of harm's grasp. Safety is just a word, meaningless and empty.
There have been more than 180 school shootings in our nation. Kids have always been told that school is going to help them grow, learn, and make friends, but more importantly they have been told that school is safe. It is an escape, a safe place, the most loving environment for so many kids in abusive homes. Too many kids have been hurt, too many kids have been traumatized, and too many kids have been murdered in a place that claims to be safe.
What is the root? Why is this happening? Why are so many innocent kids getting shot in the place that is supposed to be safe? There can be two answers to those questions. One answer is guns. Guns are the problem. Guns are murdering, disabling, and

America is the top arms exporters by far. By taking away production there is no more exporting guns or importing them (legally), leaving America and many other countries extremely vulnerable. Many people might not own a gun but the amount of people that own more than one adds up to be about 1 firearm for every US citizen. There are more than 325.7 million citizens in the US; that would make at least 325 million firearms. That would mean every last gun that is owned by those citizens should be confiscated in a timely manner. The governments usually consider themselves equal to the everyday citizen, so they would lose their firearms as well. For a short time, the military can keep the guns until a veteran with severe PTSD shoots up some place, then the military will lose their firearms. By the end all the firearms will be gone, meaning every person will be safe because no one can shoot the other. At least, that is the
School violence, is an issue that is hard to deal with. There are things that may be done to decrease it but it does not seem like it will ever go away. Parents send their children to school to learn, to have fun, to pass notes, and to meet new people, not to be shot at and never have the chance to come home ever again. They should not have to think or be afraid of sending their child to school and never seeing them. Last year one of the worst school shootings took place at Columbine High School. Not only did it effect the famlies of the victims and of the killers, pretty much the whole nation was involved and many people were brought in to figure out what had happened, and why it happened. This incident brought our nation together, and
“That could never happen in my school.” This is one of the first thoughts that goes through a students mind when they hear about a school shooting. The fact is though, it can. School shootings can happen at any school at any time. Lack of security is only a small part of the problem. The major issue lies in the low morality of students and warning signs overlooked by administration.
Since the constitution of the United States was written, Americans have had the right to bear guns; however, they misused it. Nowadays, anybody can easily buy guns. They can go to stores, search it online, and buy it on black markets. The problem is that even a person not having a special training to handle with it can buy guns. The good news is that President Obama is trying to change it because he doesn’t like the idea that anybody can own a gun. Were individuals to know how much guns are perilous, they wouldn’t think the possibility of buying guns. There are two main reasons why people shouldn't own a gun, first is the fact that anybody can buy guns, and second is that guns are very dangerous.
School is a place to study and learn. However, we have to think our safety sometimes, even we are not in the battle field. Killing someone is a crime. People know it, but they are still doing that and someone picked school where the most defenseless and innocent students have to go everyday. The reason why they choose this place because they know there isn’t anyone can stop them. School shooting has gone up from 4 cases in 2000 to 40 cases in 2014 (Wikipedia). A few unarmed guards are not going to stop them at all. We need trained armed guard and police officers in schools.
Guns, they have got to go. Take all of the guns away. Nowadays guns have such bad anger issues. When they realize they have had enough they kill the first person they say. The most innocent civilian, the anger gets the best of them and kill these innocent people. What to do, what to do? I do have a great referral for these anger impaired guns to seek therapy. I guess these guns have had it, they have had enough of people's crap,so they just solve the problem themselves, because you do know that they have a mind of their own. These guns are the real suspects here, criminals with diluted mentalities are saints, but man these guns, they have gotten out of hand.
Many Americans live their lives protecting themselves. Some rely on others to protect them. Guns are the main source of protection in America. Whether it is from wild animals in the woods, or criminals. Many describe how traumatic events cause them to protect themselves, while using their Second Amendment right. However, some blame guns because they have lost loved ones. As an American it is acceptable to practice you’re basic rights. Guns are not bad because they do not kill people, you will feel safer, and you can protect yourself and others.
Today guns are thought as completely different items than what they were a long time ago. Guns are looked at as bad thing, which in reality the average joe uses them as a tool and a way of life. The way i feel about them, is that they have multiple purposes. Why guns are looked as a bad thing is because they get in the hands of wrong people who intend to do bad things with them.
¨Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.¨ What this means is that all the good people out there know what's the right thing to do and the laws never need to testify it, then for all the bad people out there that do a crime always find/get a way out from getting in trouble. In Anne Frank's quote it said “In spite of everything , I still believe people are really good at heart.” In response to the quote of Anne Frank, people are not good at heart because many do horrible things to innocent people that didn't have anything to do with that person and they always find a way to hide it from others. But many can't keep them in a secret anymore because people will find
Guns do not only protect people when they are out in the public, but also in their homes. "In fact, because many Americans keep guns in their homes, burglars in the United States spend more time than burglars in other countries "casing" a house to ensure that nobody is home." (Lott). These burglars are casing, or examining a house before they rob it, because they are afraid that the household they want to rob has a gun inside it. In the United States, owning guns is more common, so that is something the burglars must take into consideration. Because many Americans have guns in their households, it can significantly reduce their chances of getting robbed. Even if the person who has a gun in their household does not use it to hurt the burglar,
A Gun can protect you in the in those dark times. The presence of a gun make a conflict more likely to become a violent crime. We should have more gun control to percent more attacks on innocent people.
As long as the human race has used tools, weapons have also been in use and of foremost importance. They have been used to provide food and protection since the formation of early civilizations. For centuries and still today, men and women have used guns as the most effective weapons a person can wield. Guns have been used to enforce the highest goals of humanity; to put food on the table, to provide personal protection, to enforce or defy the law, to defend or take territory and treasure, and to liberate or to enslave. Guns have also come to be used for recreational sport shooting. Millions of people use their constitutional right to own firearms simply just for the pleasure of shooting or just the fact that you own a gun. Let’s keep in mind that many others use this right to do some unlawful actions that question the right to bear in the first place.
Guns are a very dangerous investment, but, are people trying to take firearms away a smart idea? While many people side with having our gun rights taken from our grasp and having heavy restrictions enforced on gun ownership and use, the facts state otherwise. Those who want to implement gun control laws are violating our second amendment rights as American citizens and could be putting many of our lives at stake. There are many facts stating that banning guns wouldn’t be a good idea.
In this assignment, I will be discussing about the moral issue of the use of guns. In my opinion, the technology of guns has shifted our society when it was first introduced. Guns have been around for a very long time. People love being able to have the freedom to do what they want, when they can possess something that makes them feel superior. Americans enjoy the benefit of being able to own guns and carry them around in public. They own guns for many reasons such as to hunt, to protect themselves, and simply to satisfy their desire of owning a gun. Gun is one of the technologies that constantly changes and evolve over centuries since people continue to improve it. In addition, our society makes it easier for people to buy guns online since
From the amount of school shootings that have occurred in the past 5 years, as well as a plethora of unpublicized acts of intimidation, threat, and simple assault occurring in the classroom, it is reasonable to conclude that for many young children, school is not the safe haven that it was once believed to be. Instead, it is a place of constant fear, where the possibility of harm is an undeniable threat.
Crimes on school grounds can be prevented by upgrading security and having stricter rules. However, some would argue that a boost in security can be a bad thing. Schools are generally safe havens from the gun violence that is so prevalent elsewhere (Giffords Law Center). From the years 1992-2006, 50 times as many murders of people from ages 5-18 occur away from school than at school, and 140 times as many suicides happened away from school than at school. School homicide rates have dropped since 1990 because of federal laws saying guns can not be within 1,000 ft of the school.
