In some towns in our country, city councils have curfews for teenagers on weekdays and weekends. Many people may think this is a bad idea, but some people believe that it is a good idea.
Having a curfew for teenagers is a good idea because it takes the risk out for them to get hurt. It takes the risk out because adolescents will not be out all night doing stupid things getting hurt. This curfew ensures that they get home on time without getting hurt.
Another reason why having a curfew is a good idea is because it gives the student enough time to be out with friends, but home in enough time to get homework done and have plenty of rest. Making sure a child gets enough sleep is very important. With this curfew it will make sure that they have
My opinion is that curfew was set to protect minors but, there are plenty of reason why a minor would be out passed curfew and there should be system where some minors can exempt the law like having parental permission.
Although having a curfew for it to be illegal for teenagers to be on the streets after ten o’clock p.m. on weekdays or after midnight on weekends would be beneficial in exceptional and deficient ways, many citizens will disagree with having a curfew. The eminently important reason Dierks, Arkansas, should have a teenage curfew is for the security of the teenagers. Another reason is for the parent to have control over their child, instead of their child being undisciplined. On the other hand, having a curfew could hinder maturity.
Curfew is when teens cannot go outside from home and cannot hang out with friends at midnight. People like curfews because they think teens may learn responsibility and can work till night. However, some people dislike curfews because it will do nothing to make the cities safer. Curfew is a good idea because it keeps safe from crime and prevents alcohol and drugs from teens. Curfew is a good idea because it keeps safe from alcohol, drugs, and crimes.
Curfews teenagers A lot of states in United States Of America are curfews teenagers from being outside of their house at night because they can make problems and bad things without even thinking about it. In the, magazine opinion piece “Should Communities Set Teen Curfews” the author, Barbara Bey argues that “curfews are a good idea”. As Barbara Bey puts it,“At 2 o’clock the following morning, the child was still downtown”(468).
A city curfew just will make teenagers want to stay out even longer. If a city decides to make a curfew that says teenagers cannot stay out later than ten on weekdays and twelve on weekends will just make them have to sneak out and be breaking the law while they are at it! So if you are the city council I have one question for you, would you rather let the teenagers stay out as long as their parents let them or make them just break the law?
Although many people think teenagers should be home by 10, but I think teenagers should have the curfew because they are young adults, they know right from wrong, they should know not to get in trouble.
Many teenagers have a set time they have to be home by their parents. Usually teenagers must be home from dates and nights out with friends by anywhere from 10 o’clock at night to 2 o’clock in the morning. Each parent has extremely different curfews set for their children, based on the individual level of responsibility and trust levels. Some local government decides to set their own curfews, to keep teens off the streets at night and out of trouble. Many people argue whether this actually solves anything, or is even legal to do, since it is taking away a piece of teenager’s freedom. Although there are many good and bad points to enforcing curfews, they should be less enforced because they do not necessarily keep teens out of trouble,
Curfews give teens the chance to change and it works because they have less time out to cause the trouble and get Pregnant do vandalism, go stealing take drugs, smoke Cigarettes, and have under age sex get involved
Teen curfew can be both good or bad, depending on how you look at it but there are more negative things then positive things that curfew brings.Teen curfew laws need to be changed for several reasons, they keep teens from having fun during the night, and due to sleep cycles curfew gives teens only a few hours of freedom and sleep. In Detroit teen crime dropped 6% at night due to curfew but went up 13% in the day that is just one reason why teen curfew does not work. If police were not so focused on catching teens being out late they could focus on violent and more serious crimes. Curfew takes away freedom from teens. Teen curfew laws are too strict and need to be changed. Teen curfew laws can be both good and bad but they are causing more of a problem then they are
Curfew is a set time which teenagers will have to schedule their activities around. Generally, this curfew doesn’t change and helps your teen to understand boundaries. It is a wonderful idea for teens to have curfews because it teaches them to be responsible and also considerate of other people around them. As teenagers, it is natural for adolescents to feel like their freedoms are being taken away and that their parents don’t know what is best. However, curfew is put in place for the direct opposite, which is keeping teenagers out of trouble. Curfew teaches teenagers time management, it could lower the crime rate in local areas, and it could give teenagers an overall better relationship with their parents. Because of these reasons, I
Do curfews keep teenagers out of trouble? This topic has always been on the cover page of today's newspaper headlines and a hot topic that has been discussed by every family. What are curfews like? A curfew is a time frame given by an authority like a parent or the government to teenagers below 18 to be home before a certain period of time. So, ask yourself, do you think that by implementing curfews into a teenager’s life, he or she would keep out of trouble. Our group has discussed and came to an agreement that curfews really do help teenagers keep out of trouble. Firstly, curfews help teenagers to stay
Although the city council is considering a curfew that would make it illegal for teenagers to be out on the streets after 10 p.m. on weekdays or after midnight on weekends. Even though the curfew will keep teenagers in but what if there was an emergency. It is also against the bill of rights we should not all be punished for what other people do it's not everyone's fault. We should talk to the city council about watching the neighborhoods for thieves and vandalizers. Everyone would be able to go grocery shopping or if they have to go to the hospital. If we had curfew it would make us feel like we are trapped and we can't go outside many parents or guardians don't get off work tell midnight or later.
Teen curfews violate rights. “Just because young people are out at night does not mean that they are participating in anti-social behavior.”(Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1). Teenagers are being age discriminated just because they are a certain age doesn’t mean they participate in illegal activity after curfew. There is also no proof that curfews actually make teen crime go down. This makes teen curfews even more discriminating to teenagers. (Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1). “Opponents also argue that there is no proof yet that youth curfews lower teen crime. They point out that the overall crime rate in the United States is going down—so the recent drop in teen crime is to be expected.”(Do Curfews Punish Innocent Teens? 1).
The city council is thinking about adopting a curfew. There would be a 10 P.M curfew on weekdays and a midnight curfew on weekends for teens. A curfew will be a great thing for teens because it will keep teens out of trouble, keeps them safe, and also helps keeps their parents from worrying about them. Other people disagree though and think teens shouldn't have a curfew.
Having a teenage curfew is ineffective and useless. Many people argue that the curfews are necessary because it will keep young people out of trouble. They also say that teenagers are more likely to get in trouble late than they would during daylight. Teens are looked at as the age group that causes the most trouble, and society targets them when it comes to matter for crime, however many people believe that teens are responsible for a large percentage of crimes and that having a curfew in effect will help lower crime rates. I disagree with this because I don't think teenagers should be forced to follow a ridged time schedule because of a curfew.
