I am applying to Hofstra because I believe that the university can help me achieve my goals. From the time I was a young child, I knew I wanted to go into the medical field. While there is a long and difficult road ahead of me, I am sure that attending Hofstra University will help me go down that road.
I believe that Hofstra will challenge me academically. The Pre-Medical Studies major involves taking several science and math classes, subjects that many people find difficult. This will push me to do my best. The harder the courses are, the more motivated I am to succeed. Majoring in Pre-Medical Studies will also prepare me to take the MCAT and become a competitive student for medical school.
Hofstra University will help me expand on my interests
It feels like everyday I meet people who ask me what college I want to attend. I give them the usual list of colleges I wish to apply to, but when Hofstra University comes up, people ask me, “why do you want to apply to Hofstra University?” I say there are infinite reasons why I wish to go to Hofstra. The number one reason being that it is really close to home. Hofstra is an excellent school - one of the best schools in New York. Hofstra has over a 100 distinct majors and minors to choose from ranging from Biology to Engineering to American Studies. I plan to major in Biology, and Hofstra is the best for my major because it has resources to offer its students giving them hands on experiences. Being an AP student, I love to take arduous classes
Applying to colleges at the beginning of my senior year of high school seemed like a walk in the park. That was before I realized how much work it took to apply. With the common application and all the essays, I never thought I would get them all done. In the end, I applied to seven different schools including: Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Hillsdale College, Oakland University, Grand Valley State University, Kalamazoo College, and Hope College. Oddly enough, Hope College was the last school I applied too but the first school I got accepted too. I never thought I would attend a small, Christian school until I walked onto Hope`s campus.
Senior year is such a busy, long, and stressful school. On top of all that is deciding which college you would want to attend and the process to get into whatever school you choose. Personally, ever since I was young, I was kind of obligated to attend Texas Tech by my relatives. Being that I was born in the small town of Brownfield, Texas and most of my family is from there, they made frequent trips to Lubbock being that it was only forty-five minutes away. Thus, they fell in love with the school, their sports teams, and the environment. I on the other hand, hadn’t experienced all this due to the fact that I grew up in Amarillo, Texas. But every time my family would visit my relatives in Brownfield, I would always expect the usual “So have you applied to Tech yet?” and “We’re going to have a Red Raider in the family!” but you know at the time I was just starting senior year. Nonetheless I really needed to start thinking about it because in no time I’ll be graduating high school. When I did start deciding what college I wanted to attend, my family didn’t really want me to attend a college out of state because they wanted me to be close if I ever needed anything and wanted me to safe. So that narrowed it down quite a bit. Being from Amarillo, we had a community college of Amarillo College and West
There are many reasons I chose Liberty University for my degree. First, my family because I want them to have a better life once I’m out of school. It will take years for me to graduate from Liberty University but It’s worth the time for my family. I want them to have everything I didn’t get to have growing up; a house in a nice neighborhood and money so they can have a better education. Secondly, Is God and my faith that led me here to Liberty to follow my passion. Since I was a young girl I had a great interest in how the psyche works. Going to Liberty is just as much for myself as it is for my family. I want myself to know I have what it takes to finish school and have that since of accomplishment. These three reasons are why attend Liberty
I'm applying to Claflin because I feel that following in the footsteps of many powerful people and carrying on a legacy of black excellence is so empowering. It would be amazing to be a part of an institution that has inspired and been a gateway to success for many people. When I think about Claflin University, I think about a diverse community that thrives on becoming an absolute success. When the time came to begin thinking about colleges, I knew that I wanted to surround myself with hard working people that want to be successful and want to have a career, not a job and I know that I can do that at Claflin University.
I hope to be able to participate in research and continue to volunteer through clubs and at hospitals. Attending The Ohio State University will better prepare me to be a competitive and well rounded applicant for medical school because of the prestigious professors who give students the tools and opportunities they need to achieve their goals. Receiving a scholarship would greatly impact my life because it would allow me to further my education and would help me extend my learning experience at the university. If I received a scholarship, I would have more time to participate in research, volunteer at hospitals, and continue service projects with multiple clubs like Circle K and other honor
There are many city colleges in California. Before I graduated from high school, my friends and relatives told me that there are many good city colleges, but I chose to go to Fresno City College (FCC). I used to go to Fresno City College with my boyfriend for several times and found out some information about the college. However, I live in Stockton and chosen to attended San Joaquin Delta College, but not long after I dropped all my classes. I didn't felt comfortable going to that school. It has fewer programs, majors, and classes. Also, I chose to attend Fresno City College because of the help my boyfriend can give me.
Rochester's Pre-College Programs will help make me better because the Mini Medical School would further my knowledge of medical careers. As a current high school junior I have explored multiple careers, but I came to a conclusion last year that I would like to be a pediatrician. Last year I participated in the STEP program at the University of Rochester to decide if a medical career was a good fit for me. STEP opened my eyes to all the qualifications needed for my choice career, and taught me how to work with others on medical subjects. As well as present to large groups of people, and working with others. I really enjoyed my summer at the STEP program, and received a scholarship into the Mini Medical School program. Even though I received
The reason that I want to attend Johnson University Florida is because when I came in the campus for the first time for my tour of the campus I felt very welcomed and at home and the school offers everything I was looking for in college. Johnson University Florida gives me the opportunity to build my relationship with Christ himself, while being able to study for my degree, and participate in the sports I love. Johnson University also has an environment where everything is calm and it’s a smaller school which I am a fan of because I could easily get help in any classes or with any problems that I’m dealing with. The environment is almost as if it’s another family because the administrators are truly there for you though every step of the way and I admired that about the
I am also applying to Hofstra because the location of the campus is close to home and close to the endless opportunities of New York City. I am truthfully one of the most school spirited students at Bethpage; Whatever team is playing I am always there to cheer them on especially when it comes to giving my fellow teammates pep talks before racing in our track meets. I will continue this spirit at Hofstra and continue to attend my favorite college sports games, the Hofstra Pride Men’s Basketball games. Hofstra is a welcoming and familiar campus yet it will bring on such new and exciting experiences. Hofstra University has the perfect Long Island setting which provides students with a community campus experience with New York City as a major resource. Hofstra University welcomes students with alacrity that motivates students to prepare for their career and change the
The reason I chosen Tarleton State University is because Tarleton is about helping and supporting everyone. Being a supportive to an individual’s dreams and goals is what set Tarleton apart from any college in my mind. All the staff here want to see every student pass with flying colors. At Tarleton “love” is truly shown, if an individual attends Tarleton the individual will fall in love with the support and history. Tarleton also showed me even if everyone supports an individual it must be the individual’s job to support their self.
The person who influenced me most into applying to Syracuse University was my dad. My dad graduated with a degree from Syracuse, and has always been hardworking and passionate in everything he does. Going to Syracuse for me correlates with many of the traits my dad possesses, and by going to the same college he got his degree from, I hope that I can develop many of the same traits he possesses. Attending the university where my dad got his degree from would allow me to live up to the expectations my dad has set, for with his degree he was able to acquire a good job that allowed him to move up in life. A Syracuse degree allowed my dad to move out of the projects of the Upper West Side of Manhattan to the suburbs of Long Island, giving us
I'm applying to Hofstra because of everything the school has to offer; location, opportunity, diversity, and a vast variety of degrees and programs. Having NYC right next door and the Hofstra shuttle and the LIRR conveniently near campus will open opportunities for me where no other school I am applying to can. Being a suburban Florida girl it has always been my dream to attend school in New York, Hofstra has a beautiful campus and I am looking forward to making New York my next home. Hofstra offers a great pre-med program and I am looking forward to going into pre-dental, the research opportunities available are very appealing since Hofstra values student research projects. I look forward to taking advantage of the study aboard program in
I choose SUNY Empire, as my college of choice because of Education - Proficiency is important, absorbing knowledge is vital. Career – having just a High School diploma will not cut it. Money - I wanted to be an Independent adult and live well, In hindsight - without a college degree what are you going to do?
I am applying to Hofstra because the atmosphere brings me to a place where I feel comfortable, welcome and at home. I am interested in studying early
