Why I Chose A Scholarship

There are a million reasons why everyone else entering this scholarship should win, and a million different reasons that each and every one of us could benefit from this scholarship. However, before you rule me out, I ask that you hear my reasoning for needing this scholarship. Throughout high school, I have been actively involved in volleyball, basketball, and track, where I have competed at the state level in all three sports. I have also been in Student Council, National Honor Society, Pep Club, FCA, 4-H, and I was elected class president all four years of high school. On top of all of this, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes since the age of 3. Both my mom and dad have worked extra jobs in the summer, so that I could have the luxury of pursuing my dreams. Although I have not worked an actual job, the skills and life lessons I have learned will stay with me forever. I have not only learned how to lead, but how to listen as well. I have learned the true meaning of hard work, and how it can and will payoff. Lastly, I have learned how to appreciate those who got me to where I want to be in life from my teammates to classmates, from teachers to coaches, and even sibling and grandparents. Now as my high school years are drawing to an end, and with college right around the corner, now more than ever I want to be able to help my parents out financially. However, once again I find myself in need of their help as college seems to grow more and more expensive every time I turn around. I pray that one day I can repay my mom and dad for every opportunity they have blessed me with, and every sacrifice they have made along the way. In reality however, I know this may never happen, but that is why I am asking for your help with this
