[BODY PARAGRAPH 1] The first reason I decided to attend college is because I am currently in a job that has no promotion potential. Going to college, and completing my bachelor’s degree would make me more qualified for positions that I am currently not qualified for. Secondly by completing my degree I would be as competitive as my peers. This would provide the best chance at being promoted in my new career field. In addition attending college has given me the opportunity to work with different computer programs that I had not used prior to going to college. I am able to use Microsoft word, excel, power point, and project management. I have developed new skills that I can use when I switch careers. Furthermore by switching careers to a job that has opportunities will help reduce stress. A lot of my stress is caused by searching for a job, redoing my resume, and going on job interviews. As a result when I complete my degree I will be able to get the job that I want, and reduce stress in my life.

This will help me save for my retirement, because I will have more money. I will be able to contribute more money to my retirement plan than I am currently able to contribute. Besides that this will give me the ability to afford nice things that I cannot afford. For example I would like to be able to afford a trip to Hawaii, or afford a bigger house. Lastly I would be able to provide for my family by earning more money. I would be able to pay for my kids’ education. This would provide them with better options for their future. I would be able to give my family a piece of mind, because they would be able to live a comfortable life without having to worry about food, shelter, or the basics. Therefore achieving a college education would make all these things
1. The they-say part in the essay Colleges Prepare People for Life is that college education seems like to unpractical for people, because people think students are too young to manage their education debt and even after graduation. About this perspective, Freeman Hrabowski disagrees with it, while he thinks; the true meaning of being educated is to have the new broad view of life, instead of just for jobs. Education brings people a good start for a brilliant life, and it is like a path for people finding the new definition of everything based on the values from the education people got.
To any college student the most important reason to attend college should be to receive a higher level of education. I finished high school and had to make the decision of perusing a higher education, meaning going to college, or start working and planning my life financially. Education at a college level will eventually set me up for the future. The way I see it, college is there to help me by creating a path I must take to become where I want to be educationally. Currently, I am taking classes that I need to get out of the way; English comp being one of them, before I can focus 100% on the culinary aspect of my degree. College is just an option but I believe it is the best option for me to higher my education and make the journey to
Attending college and obtaining a college degree are very beneficial because it allows you to acquire a superior job and gain knowledge. With a college degree, you receive the training, understanding, and skills required to perform well in your chosen career. A college degree, also, looks pleasing to respective employers and makes them more willing to employ you over others.
After four years of high school, there is only one goal I have in mind. That goal is to attend college. This is the next big step in my life. All the late nights I stayed up to complete school assignment was for this moment. All my hard work was has lead me to this point in life. College will open a whole new to me. A world where I can meet new people while working to improve my future. Why do I want to attend college though? Well I have three specific reasons for this decision.
There might be a time where people ask you, “why are you in college” or “why to decide to go to college.” People might reply by saying that they want a degree, that they want a higher paying job, or they need that for a future career that they are pursuing. Those responses are the most typical reason of why people go to college. Sure you can say that having a degree means that a person can get a better job with better pay rather than working in the manual labor fields with minimum pay. A college degree is the fundamental stepping stone to the future, it lays the foundation of where to start. College is everything to me; I’m in college so I’m able to unlock more potential in myself, to be able to make my mother proud with everything that she has done and hopefully becoming the first.
Going to college and obtaining a college degree would provide one with endless possibilities and opportunities in their life. While attending college students have the chance to meet many new people. This provides students to get out of their shells and explore new ideas. Having a college degree also widens ones options for a career and gives the opportunity to make a better salary. Many jobs today are requiring employees to have some type of college degree. Employers also pay an extra amount if one does obtain a college degree, and having a college degree often provides for greater promotion opportunity.
I decided to go to college because I believe that education is an important part of life and that being educated has many advantages. Like many, one of the biggest reasons for deciding to attend college is to create a better future for myself. Being a first-generation college student my parents have implanted on me the importance of college education, as it is something they wish they would have done themselves. As the first of four children to go to college, I feel that it is my responsibility to be a good example to my younger siblings, and show them that it is important to have goals in life and to better yourself as a person through education. I understand that an university education may not be for everyone, but it felt like the right choice for me. What I hope to get out of college is a life-changing experience, not only to get a better education, but to find something I am truly passionate about. I think it is important when choosing a career or a major to find something your heart truly wants and not just a career that will make you able to afford expensive things. I also hope that somewhere along the path to graduation and adulthood, I find myself as a person and develop ideas, opinions, and to be able to approach the world with an
Through college you learn many skills that will help you in your career. One reason I want to go to college is that more jobs are available after completing college. Many employers look for a college diploma on a résumé when hiring. I want my future job to interest me and this will help. With more options I can get a job that pays good and interests me. This way I will enjoy going to work everyday. I also need good pay so that I can get the things I need. Of course this all will help provide for myself. For example, food is an obvious priority. Also, I need clothing and a home. Overall college is a great way to prepare for a job, provide for my everyday needs and get a career that interests me.
Education has been around for many centuries, but recently in the past 150 to 200 years literacy has changed. College comes after receiving the basic educational skills in middle school and high school. It has been debated continuously whether continuing education to college is quite necessary, or if it is just a complete waste of time. Many compare and contrast this topic because college can be expensive and time consuming. College education can improve one’s life for the good however, college is not for everyone.
Noted authors, Brandon Chambers, is quoted saying, “If you are going to fear anything fear success. Think about what you are doing and when you succeed what life you will have.” There are several different reasons why I could stay home, work and not go to college; I could go to work every day and make more money for the house, it’s easier, and I would be less stressed. Now, on the other hand there are many reasons why I should go to school; such as further my education, make my family proud, and make myself proud. I am attending college for several different reasons. One reason is to further my education. I hate feeling like I don’t know something, I like being the person everyone comes to for information. Also, because I want to
There are many benefits to obtaining a college degree. Having a college degree is worth the expenses and two or more years put into getting it. A college degree can help with getting a well paying, enjoyable job in the future. Having a well paying, enjoyable job is important in one’s success. Which means that having a degree is important. “What college are you going to attend in the Fall?” “What will your major be?” What do you want to be when you grow up?” These three questions have come up in some shape or form as I was going through the college process my Junior and Senior years of high school. My answers were: “Whatever school gives me the most money. Biology. Pediatrician.” But can I answer all of these questions definitively now? Maybe. Maybe not. All I know is that, I can definitively say: “I attend Macaulay Honors College and Queens College.”
Employment Benefits is one the most important reason for getting a college degree. This can include health care, retirement plans and other many important things. Earning a college degree will provide stability for your families and people will be happier as they have more money. In today's economy, employment
Millions of students attend college every year in the United States (“Fast Facts”). Many of these students decide to go to college because it’s their own personal decision, but what kinds of factors actually influence this decision? In my personal decision to go to college, I was mainly influenced by family, my religion, means for education, and an interest in medicine. For me, family was one of the biggest influences in my deciding to go to college. Part of meeting the basic need for family is to socialize and protect your children (Henslin, 105).
College is an important step to prepare yourself for a job or career, as the majority of college graduates agree to that (source F).Not only does it prepare you for the next step in life, it makes the next step easier to start and maintain. By graduating and having a college degree, you will find it is easier to find and get hired for a job, as college graduates are far less likely to be unemployed than non-graduates (Source D). This is important to many graduates for paying off debt, and earning enough for a living. You will find it difficult to pay off debt and still have enough to be financially stable, if you're working a small job, that just doesn’t provide enough. If you have graduated college, you have the opportunity to be more successful and work a more meaningful job that will not only be a good source of income, but also be something you love to do, and even help change the world.
