WHY I LOVE ALABAMA
In 1997 my parents moved us to Florida where I got a job working at a place called Ruskin Tomato Growers. After working there for about two weeks I met and fell in love with the man that I would soon marry. Within a week Charles asked me if I would move to his home state of Alabama and become his wife. I agreed and on the eleventh day of knowing him were married in a small ceremony at the court house. When we arrived in Alabama it was winter time. There was a little bit of snow on the ground but not much. You could see smoke coming out of all the chimney’s and smell the wood that was used to warm the homes. It felt very inviting and I was happy I made

I was embarrassed, but learnt quickly it can be important to read everything.
One of the things I loved about Alabama was the southern hospitality of the people. You never met a stranger. You can drive down the street and people would wave at you like they’ve known you forever. Most of Alabama is farmland so I learnt how to plant a garden and work it growing my own vegetables than canning and freezing them. Homegrown vegetables always seemed to taste better than the ones you bought in the store. Maybe because a lot of love and hard work went into growing your own. I learnt how to gather eggs and milk a cow. Even how to churn my own butter. One thing I had to adjust to was the smell from the farms. Being from the city I wasn’t used to that and it took some getting used to. The scenery in Alabama is beautiful. From the majestic mountains, to the lakes we swam in. One beautiful place is called Noccula Falls. It’s a 90 foot water fall. Legend has it that a young Indian girl named Noccula fell in love. Her boyfriend wasn’t rich so her dad ran him off. Noccula was heartbroken so she jumped from the falls and ended her life. They say from time to time you can catch a glimpse of her spirit walking thru the falls looking for the love of her life. My sister Robyn took some pictures at the falls and it did show what appeared to be a young girl of about 17 in a white gown but it could
I live in a small town that goes by the name of Lafayette. The population is 4,500. Everyone knows where everything is, when everything is, and what everything is. As a child, my mother and I would go to a beautiful waterfall on a small back road when the sun was shining, when the trees and rocks were just right, and when it was damp and perfect for four wheeler rides. The Union Camp waterfall is majestic. The scenery makes a person speechless. We would always go when the weather was perfect. The waterfall is one childhood memory I will always remember. The activities my mother and I would do were always a blast. My trips to Union Camp waterfall are memorable because of the scenery, the weather, and the activities.
"One must return to the past in order to move forward", is an old African proverb that has been used to explain the purpose of studying history. This African proverb not only refers to the study of American history, but also the study of one's family history. Another saying that has been used to refer to the study of history is, "You must learn your history, or you are bound to repeat it." These principles can apply to education as well. The purpose of attending college is to receive a formal education. The proper approach to begin college level studies is to learn your school's history. Enlightenment of the difficulties and barriers during the early stages of a school's development; in
The University of Alabama and I possess a common vision: We are committed to enhancing the quality of life, not only for Alabamians, but for citizens of the nation and the world. There are numerous reasons I am pursuing the admission to the University of Alabama. First, the University of Alabama is nationally ranked as an affordable graduate program and is among the top five percent of nursing schools. Second, the academic content in the Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program provides a strong advanced primary care base in support of caring for patients with common psychiatric/mental health problems. Furthermore, I am drawn to the University of Alabama’s continuous support of military veterans. I have had the privilege of serving in the Air Force for 8 years. There is an impressive amount of acceptance and support for military veterans through the numerous scholarships and Veterans Career Advancement in Nursing initiative.
When asked why I love living in the state of Alabama many reasons come to mind. Some reasons being because of the people here while others are the places. The many people in the state of Alabama all seem to be very caring and sweet. Everyone here seems to be like a big family. You might not always agree with everyone but when it comes down to it someone will always have your back. In Alabama I love getting to see all of the beautiful cotton fields with their white fluffy cotton. I love the taste of the fresh sweet iced tea. I love all of the amazing places we have here. The historic ones and none historic. One in particular I love is the Gulf State Park located in Gulf Shores, Alabama. I love Alabama because we are located so close to the beach.
Recently my family was uprooted from our lovely little town in southeast Georgia and moved halfway across the country to none other than the home of the National Quilt Museum, Paducah, Kentucky. At first I was really hesitant, I mean I had good reason, what normal person wants to up and leave everything they’ve known their whole life? Well, obviously, after much debate with my family I ended up here at McCracken County High School, home of the Mustangs.
Alabama is a place not any person will choose as a first pick , which is understandable . But as for myself this place surpasses perfect ,the state has adventure written all over , and that's what I’m about , always down for an adventure . Being in love with the planet and its art , is breathtaking the setting is imaginative and alluring .This is what Alabama is made of, entering the state gives chills , the feeling is so surreal ,the scenery seems as an advertisement catalog photo , photoshopped to perfection . Every direction pine trees fill gaps , roads guided by
The place that needs water mills in alabama because it is one of the most poorest state in usa. This would be helpful there because it would help the people there save a lot of money and would help them amazingly. This should also be there so people over there can become more wealthier than the state they are economically in.
It all began when I was eight years old; At that time I was staying with my grandparents for the summer. I was excited because my grandmother told me that we would be taking a trip to Martha’s Vineyard for our relatives wedding; Her news made me fill with delight. After a few days of packing and shoveling clothes and
My connection to the state of Alabama is that I was born in Fairhope, Alabama and lived there with my family till I was 3 years old. My family loved living in Fairhope but due to job opportunities they decided it was best to move back to their home state of Louisiana. Even though I don’t recall much of the time I spent living in Alabama, I do remember the many visits I took with my family every year to visit our extended family and friends in Alabama. Additionally, I went to Riverview Summer Camp in Mentone, Alabama for two weeks every summer as a child.
I am from Alabama aka AL, but I live in Colorado now. When I was down there I lived in a small town that is called Frisco City, Al that has trees everywhere and there are lakes everywhere too. I loved everything about my hometown, but I had to leave my home because I was young and dumb. Also I wanted to see a new place. When someone asked me why I left AL I told them why. I have been in CO for 1 year and I like the jobs here and the education is great. I really miss my family and my hometown, so I wanted to go back home to see my family because I haven't seen them in a year. That's why I am telling you about my trip back home.
On May 26th , 2007 I graduated from Cloverdale High School and received my diploma. At six months of my pregnancy I got married to the father of my unborn second child. We lived with his parents while saving for our own home. We were saving to buy or rent a home when our car was totaled. We had the decision of a new car, or saving for a home. We really needed our own place, so my mother said she would co-sign for us a car and pay the down payment as long as we promised to make every payment on time.
It had been three weeks since the day that I proposed. We were to be wed in a week. I decided to surprise my fiance with a mid morning brunch. I left work , and started to head home. I was twenty minutes from the house, and I got a phone call. It was Angelic, calling to make sure that I made it to work safe. I wanted the brunch to be a surprise, so I told her that I was just getting to work. When I finally got to the house, I saw Fortunato's car in the drive way. As I was making my way up to the steps, all my maids were walking out of the door. I stopped one of my maids and asked her where they were going.
Two years ago, we moved to the California from Pakistan. First, we all family, we was sitting in the living room my dad got a call from the office they said to my dad everything is done from the office you guys can leave now. Next, we were so happy my dad told my mom get ready for tomorrow. Then, we went to the shopping. After that we hit in the airport, I was very nervous because I was a first time in the airplane. Finally we got in America and America is so
When it was midnight, we loaded the car and drove through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. We stopped at a few places to grab food or gas. It was a long time, but it was worth it when we finally reached our condo. It was beautiful! We went to the balcony to see the ocean and it was crystal clear. The beach wasn’t crowded either. We hurried to put on bathing suits and sunscreen. Then we walked downstairs to the beach. The sand was warm and felt great. My sister’s and I ran to the water and
My family is very traditional, I was about 30 years old, and everyone thought that it was the ideal time to get marry and have children; I had found a wonderful man, why I shouldn’t want to? I tried to keep myself strong on my decision to get married, because suppose to be the right one. I was lying myself and he felt my doubts, he know me enough to see that I wasn’t really sure about it, so he asked me one day, what I really wanted, and in that moment, I realize that I wanted to reach my dreams to travel and explore the world .We cry and hug, we say goodbye and I make the conscious decision to change my life. Wasn’t easy, I love him but wasn’t my time to be a wife and mother and for him that it was a
