I love children. They make me smile a lot. Therefore, I would really enjoy working with them when I become a RDN. I am looking forward to work with children on the age group of 1 to 10 most. If not, I'll probably focus on infants. I know that I won't be able to witness the happiest and healthiest children in this practice. Instead, I will be working with children dealing with serious diseases that needs special care. I want to be able to help them feel better. I want to be an instrument that will help them achieve the appropriate nutrients that they need. Besides them, I am also interested to serve less privilege families and help make a difference in their lives. I would like to be able to provide them options on how to get all of the nutrition
I have always wanted to become a nurse, I find it interesting and I love helping people. Trying to put others before me. Though with some research, with the help of the California Career Zone Registered Nurses, it showed me the information on becoming a nurse practitioner, I could still work in pediatric care, as well as handle higher tasks. Such as studying patient history, diagnose and treat them, order and perform certain tests. Whereas a registered nurse just monitors, as well as administer medications. (California Career Zone). It is a very social working job, making sure patients understand their illness and treatments, bedside care is very important in this job. Helping others would help give me a fulfilling job in my career. I am looking forward to being in the medical
In the near future, I will graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from East Carolina University. Guiding my ultimate nursing goals is my love for children. As a mother already, I have learned and immensely enjoyed my journey with my six-year-old child thus far. However, I would love to expand my knowledge on the unique needs of the pediatric patient population. The pediatric patient population is very diverse, due to the various stages of life within this populace. In the near future, I hope to expand my understanding and experience with pediatric patients through becoming a registered nurse on a pediatric nursing unit within a hospital. However within ten years, my goal is to become a school nurse. This being said, there is an extensive field of knowledge and training I will need to gain in order to achieve my ultimate nursing goal of serving all children in their medical and developmental needs.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I will have the skills, knowledge and flexibility to serve populations for whom I have a heart. I have always felt working with underserved populations, such as the rural poor, is part of my calling as a nurse. In addition, I have a strong interest in furthering point-of-care nursing competencies when providing cross-cultural/multi-cultural nursing care to diverse
I am a RPN pursuing a degree in nursing. The experience volunteering to a non-profit organization aiming to build healthier and stronger communities in Toronto and from being a student mentor made me realized that treating others with compassion and building partnership with them stimulate positive change and innovations. Actively engaging either a community or an individual in their needs assessment, planning and implementing initiatives ensures not just their personal development but also nurtures a healthier environment. So, I aim to stay committed in advancing my knowledge and skills in conducting research and collaborative practice with individuals and communities.
Every since I was a little girl I always wanted to be a nurse so I could take care of my father because he had heart complications. When I started working at providence, I fell in love with the CCU and how the nurses and other staff treated the heart patient. So when I graduate from nursing school I plan on working at providence in critical care unit for a year or two. After that I plan on applying to florida state university crna school to become a
I possess many qualities that will make me an outstanding Nurse Practitioner in the family medicine field. My belief is that nursing involves treating the whole person. That might mean giving prescribed medication, but it also means providing guidance and education on better quality of life, and how to find information on these and other issues. I learn quickly and have the desire to purse an advanced degree in my profession.
I am applying to be an RA because I enjoy being a role model and a positive influence on others. I have been in positions before in which I was in charge of multiple people around my age, and I really enjoyed those experiences. I believe that an effective RA has strong leadership, communication, disciplinary, and charismatic skills. An RA is in charge of around twenty other students, it is important that they must be their residents’ friend and a big brother/sister to the residents and by having those skills the residents should feel as if the RA is a big brother/sister. In my opinion, the most important skill is communication. If a resident is struggling with a class, a resident is homesick, or just has any personal problems the RA is probably one of the first people they talk to. Communicating to their residents in those times can mean the world to them; just a simple conversation can help improve a person.
I have always wanted to work with small children in the medical field. After doing research on nursing specialties i found the neonatal. Neonatal nurses work with babies that are born either too early(premature) and/ or are suffering from a life threatening situations such as drug addiction or born with aids. This would be a very tedious job because these babies are most of the time very tiny and the equipment you work with is tiny and if you're not careful you can instantly kill them or seriously injure them. One reason i drew interest in this field was because i have had family members who were born with something wrong or were premature. One of them was actually my brother. He was born with low blood sugar and digestive problems. If it wasn't for the nurses and the doctors my baby brother wouldn't have grown up as healthy as he did. I plan to after earning one of those degrees go back to traveling until i no longer
Cook Children’s has achieved accreditation by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education. This is important to me as it shows the quality and integrity of the residency program and I am assured that I will receive the best training and education available to me. I enjoy learning and I believe that a residency at Cook Children’s will allow me to stay up to date with nursing skills, policies, procedures, and give me an opportunity to further my education through my experiences. In the residency program, I will complete over 1,800 hours of individual clinical experience with a nurse preceptor. The amount of individual clinical hours ensures that I will be able to start my career with confidence that will help me further as a new graduate nurse. With the high achievements that Cook Children’s has obtained, I believe that I will have an outstanding platform to begin my nursing career that will aid me in becoming a nurse with the ability to continue to learn and grow in the profession. Upon completion of this residency I expect to have a solid foundation of pediatric nursing that I can build on. Cook Children’s has several values which include caring, safety, integrity, collaboration, innovation, and giving. I will demonstrate caring by listening to my patients and their families. I will be an advocate for patients and treat them holistically. I will try to minimize fears by explaining procedures to patients, keeping them updated on their treatment, and answering any
Nurse Anesthetist has been providing anesthesia to patients in the United States for more than 150 years. In the year 1840 the anesthetic qualities of drugs were demonstrated in the country. Ether, chloroform, nitrous oxide is some chemicals who helped nurses and doctors in conducting a modern surgical procedure. Florence Nightingale was a well known nurse because of her work in the Crimean War during the late 1850s, that ushered in the advent of professional nursing. Women started to choose nursing as a vocation. Nurses first gave anesthesia to wounded soldiers from the battlefield during the Civil War. The specialty nurses Anesthesia was then formed. Nurse
I have had a passion for becoming a healthcare provider for children for quite a while (for a long time). Children are one of the most important individuals of society because they are the future and will one day be in charge of the world. Their health at a young age is indicative to how their health will be as adults. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. My career goals are to prevent children from having to spend time in hospitals or in pain and to help them live out their life and dreams to the fullest extent. Children play a very large role in their families, and when a child becomes sick, the whole family becomes distressed. Pediatricians not only heal children, but they help and prevent a family from suffering. I love medicine and children, and I hope to combine these two passions by becoming a pediatrician.
Radiologic technology is a satisfying and rewarding career. It is a technical and refined science. As a radiological technologist, there are many essential duties and responsibilities that have to be fulfilled in order to be a good one. First of all, radiological technologists have to maintain a well-mannered and professional behavior when gathering information. They have to assure their patients that they are in good hands therefore; they give patients the uppermost quality of care and services. Second of all, the main responsibility of a healthcare provider is to keep all knowledge of a patient’s health record confidential or secluded. That means radiological technologists cannot talk about patients at home or with friends and classmates
Ever since I was a little girl, I was always telling my parents I wanted to be a doctor to help people. As I got older my sisters had babies and I always wanted to hold them and take care of them furthermore, just recently I had come across a defined profession caring for infants in a great deal of need. I have been interested in helping people in need, performing surgeries and caring for infants since I was approximately eight years old. I have recently been doing some research on a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP), and believe that the job description fits me well. I would find a colossal amount of joy in being a NNP because I love being around babies and would enjoy being able to make a difference in their early life, as well as in their family’s lives.
My true passion for helping others begins with my mother. My mother, Carla worked for Gallipolis Developmental Center for many years as a nursing assistant. Unfortunately, she sustained a severe back injury that ended her career. In 2006, she was rushed into emergency back surgery after several herniated discs ruptured. This left her with severe back pain that she will suffer with for the rest of her life. As a result, I learned to care and to have compassion for those in need. My passion to work in pediatrics stems from my experience of being an aunt. I became an aunt at the age of four and I am now an aunt to six beautiful,
Although I have experience working with children in a health-related environment I am still relatively new to the role of a nurse and would require more practice and learning regarding paediatric nursing. I hope that the knowledge and skills that I have now, aid in my growth and development as I transfer them from other areas of my life into my work experiences.
