Ever since I was young, sitting in front of the TV with my cat watching Animal Planet, I have had a special interest in caring for animals. I was inspired by the veterinarians on the other side of the screen who were heroes in my eyes. Since then, it has been my dream to join their ranks and save the lives of peoples' beloved animal companions. Though I have learned more about the monumental effort it takes to become a veterinarian, nothing has deterred me; not even the eight years of college that loom ahead can change my mind. Animals have always been my best friends. They were there to dry my tears with their fur and give me something warm to cuddle when I felt alone in the world. My cat, Franklin, was my best friend growing up. He followed …show more content…
It was an extremely hard decision for 13 year old me to make, but I have moved past it. I will never forget the impact Franklin had on my life. I want to become a veterinarian to save lives. I don't want little girls and boys like I used to be to lose their best friends. I want to be an innovator in my field and speak for the animals that cannot tell a doctor what's wrong. I have kept my grades up and achieved high honors every year of my academic life, working harder than most others so someday I could get into a top school. Soon, that work may pay off. My dream school is Cornell where I'd like to study general biology for four years before applying to their prestigious veterinary program. Countless hours of studying and taking and retaking standardized tests have slowly but surely bettered my application to the point where I believe I stand a chance against thousands of applicants whose ambitions are just as large as mine. I took no breaks during high school. With a natural inclination for learning, my mother knew that I was bright and pushed me hard so I would get where I am today, for she refused to let me waste my
I have always been interested in animals, when I was younger I would save baby animals or sick animals from the sides of the road and care for them until they were able to do so themselves. Ever since I can remember my future career was seen as achieving in being a veterinarian and have my own clinic. In this clinic I do not plan on working on ordinary animals, my goal is to become a big animal and exotics vet.
I would like to be a large animal veterinarian when I grow up. I have picked this career because it has everything I want and desire to do. I would get to work with animals and the people in my community to make life better for all. As animals are a part of the family. I feel that I would be successful as a Vet due to my fondness of animals and my interactions with people. There is nothing better the wet kisses of a puppy and the smell of puppy breath. I currently volunteer at a local veterinarian office and love. I have seen and learned a lot of valuable lessons. While there are a number of different specialties such as small animal, exotic animal I would like to be a large animal vet and specialize in equine medicine.
You have a lot of heroic veterinarian doctors who see the intrinsic value in saving the lives of animals. One doctor, in particular, even performs on wild, injured animals that he meets. In fact, he has performed miracles on pets who were otherwise paralyzed. Dr. Evan Antin, a man who has dedicated his life to helping and understanding the endangered and most exotic animals, has gone somewhat viral on the Internet, but it has been for a more curious reason than what you might expect.
When I was young, and living in Duluth, Minnesota, I loved animals and still do. My three sisters and I would take in any creature we found and help it survive or keep it warm. Our family We were only children and didn’t know any better, but Addie found a dead mouse in our yard and brought it into the house. She kept him and named him Freddy. When my mom asked her what she was going to do with him she replied, “We can take him out and look at him.” We had him for about a week until our mom got rid of him because of the smell. We were devastated but eventually found ourselves new pets to care for. One of which, was a chipmunk.
Considering lifetime goals, many people are unsure on how to prepare. They will either center around areas with no direction or only concern themselves with the subject with which they would like to be a professional in. This way they can find their passion or learn more about it. Since I was little, somewhere within deep myself, I have always strived to become someone who will be able to help others. The way I have come to realize how I can achieve this is to become a veterinarian. I will be able to help people who are unable to help the ones they love, their animals.
I want to be a equine vet when I grow up, you have to get your large animal degree then you can specialize in equine. Three things I have to do to get there is lots of college, I have to have good grades in high school and college, and I have to work really hard.
When I was a child, I was always asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answers ranged from musician, manager, doctor, and veterinarian. The last few years have helped me narrow down my career path and gave me passion to pursue a career in veterinary medicine—a veterinary technician in particular. This has been a result of the experiences and people I have encountered and a drive to better the profession.
My long term goal to become a productive global citizen is to be a veterinarian and reach the goal of getting a doctorate in veterinary medicine. I hope to be at UC Davis, because they have a number one ranking, while specializing and are famous in their veterinarian program. I have also been there before, so I am more familiar with the place and it is close to home compared to other colleges or universities. By becoming a veterinarian, I want to advance in the health and care of animals, the health of the environment, and public health. I want to change the world and help all different animals by finding a cure to heartworm, especially in felines. Heartworm is a common disease for dogs that can be treated early on. But for felines, there
Since as far back as I can remember, I have loved animals; especially cats and dogs. At first, I wanted to work as a cashier at Petsmart. As I aged, I realized it’s very difficult to make a good living as a cashier anywhere. I set my sights a little bit higher: Becoming a veterinarian. Ever since I made this decision in elementary school, I have worked exceptionally hard to achieve this goal. I recently graduated high school as a valedictorian in a class of nearly 400. Through my senior year of high school, I shadowed at my local veterinary clinic to better understand what I will be doing for the rest of my life. The experience just made me even surer that helping animals is definitely what I want to do for my career.
I am a veterinarian. Well not yet, but ever since I was a child that’s all I ever dreamed of becoming. I’ve always heard people say, “you will change your career choice at one point of your life”. However, I never have. I am so determined to turn my dream into a reality. The best part about never changing my career choice, is my mom telling me, “ Christina, remember whenever you would call yourself princess of the animal doctors.” I couldn’t put an exact name to what I wanted to be but I knew what it was. The reason why I am so dedicated to becoming a veterinarian, is because I can feel my connection to animals. I’m not talking about being able to have full conversations with animals, that’s crazy. I’m talking about understanding that animals
I cannot remember a time during my childhood when I did not wish to become a veterinarian. I had dreams of running my own practice alongside my sister, who is also a veterinarian. As I grew older, I realized there is more I can do with animal science than just veterinary medicine. From these realizations I developed an interest in genetics, livestock, and animal science.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always known that I wanted my life’s purpose to be caring for animals. It is important for me to reach my goal of becoming a wildlife veterinarian because my dream is to become the voice that animals lack. I want to be able to help endangered species make a comeback and help others back to health. Later on in life I hope to open my own animal
I've had my goals set high since I was five years old; I aspire to become a board-certified veterinary surgeon. At the young age of five, whenever I was asked the question of what I wanted to "be" when I got older, I confidently answered "I am going to be a vet." Almost thirteen years later, I answer that question even more confidently. I am going to be a veterinarian.
wanted some sort of companion to be with? Well if you have ever had a pet, well then you will know why
From a very young age I have always had a passion for animals. Anytime my family would visit a zoo or even when I saw a wild animal wandering about, excitement and wonder would bubble up inside me. An important part of my childhood was the pets that I’ve had as well; in fact, I don’t remember a time when I didn't own a pet! I believe that animals and pets of all kind deserve the best care they can get and I only wish to become the best veterinarian I can be.
