I have been thinking about high school since was young. I thought it was so far away and now I am ready to graduate middle school and go to high school. This got me thinking about college. I realize that I need to find a high school that will help me succeed and reach my goal of going to college. I need a program that will help me find new things that will interest me. As an 8th grader getting ready to go into high school I was looking at applications and, I came across Lake View High School and I was intrigued. As I read on I was satisfied with what I read because I know that this program will help me succeed in high school and college. Knowing that, I really want to be a part of this school. Lake View is a HOME, which represents the four core values of: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, and Education. At Lake View I will be contributing to these core values, but the one that I will be concentrating on is Education. Education is something that I need before anything, before college, before high school. Education has me thinking about what I want to be when I grow up, what kind of professional. When someone asks me “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would want to have a response and that …show more content…
I want to learn new things that interest me. I want to be able to realize my goals. I have recently discovered my love for reading. I hope to be able to learn strategies that will help make me a better reader as well as a better writer. If I contribute to the core value of education, I know I will succeed at that skill with the new strategies that I will learn. With HOME, I have an opportunity to contribute to all of the values: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, and Education. This school will give me different aspects of education. I have many goals in life, in high school and college, so being able to be part of Lake View HOME, I will be contributing to the core
The reason why I want to attend Cass Technical High School is because I want to be challenged to my full academic ability. I’ve always wanted to go to Cass since I was a little boy in elementary. When I was in 8th grade, I truly wasn’t challenged by the work I had, so my mother told me that I would get challenged at a school like Cass. I don’t believe that I have been challenged at the school I go to now. I believe I can do better at your school because I will always have enough work in my classes and never will get bored when I’m finished. I put my homework as a priority before other things when I get home. I have always been an all “A” student since I was a little kid. I want to go to Cass so I can achieve my full
When I first started high school I hated it, I felt like it was a lot of pressure and everyone seemed to know everyone and I had just moved from Texas and came into a class where everyone knew each other. I stood out and felt very uncomfortable but as time went by I loved high school. I made lots of new friends, had great teachers that were very close to me and was succeeding in my classes. My main goal was to graduate with a good GPA, do well on my ACT and make my mom proud. Coming to Illinois was a big change from Texas, my parents separated and my dad abandoned us so my mom decided to move to Illinois because her brother lives here and would help her out financially till she was on her feet. My mom works two jobs. I am the youngest out
I attend a relatively small, private, Catholic high school in northern New Jersey called Don Bosco Prep. I am involved in a variety of activities including sports, music, and various clubs and organizations. My school encouraged me to grow academically, socially, culturally, and spiritually. Our school motto is “empowering young men for life”. I feel that my school has given me the tools to be an engaged student. The school promotes a brotherhood which has benefitted me personally. Whether a friendship forged from a study group or one formed with a teammate, each friendship brings different experiences to my life for which I am grateful.
After four years of high school, there is only one goal I have in mind. That goal is to attend college. This is the next big step in my life. All the late nights I stayed up to complete school assignment was for this moment. All my hard work was has lead me to this point in life. College will open a whole new to me. A world where I can meet new people while working to improve my future. Why do I want to attend college though? Well I have three specific reasons for this decision.
What I want for my future to be like? In my future I want to graduate with a high school diploma. After high school I want to go to the U.S. Army for Eight years. After that I would like to go to college to become a Pediatrician.
There are many reasons why I want to be in the Teams program and many things I want to accomplish in high school. I want to try to push myself, I want to challenge myself and do things that may be out of my comfort zone and I think that teams will give me the perfect opportunity to do that. I think that it will be interesting to see how far I can go in my studies. I think it will be amazing see how many more new things I can learn in Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science. I am particularly excited to see all the new things I will learn in math. I believe that if I don't try I won't be able to succeed and that's why I want to push my self.
A path that led to this school, and the amazing experiences and opportunities I had and will continue to have throughout my last year here. Here is the place I’ve learn to lead in a classroom, develop my academic skills, and succeed in continuing my mission of helping others. I’ve grown into a woman with her own ideals and own convictions, which I just now realized has always been my goal in life. What I major in, what job I have, and who I marry will not confine my person to live a life where having one experience is
Imagine a place where everyone is accepted for who they are. A place where kids can discover their true calling and begin to pursue it. A place where the whole community is united in a bond of friendship and trust. No, this place is not heaven, it is South Pointe. I can’t believe that three years have gone by so fast. Three years of learning how to deal with so many classes. Three years of meeting so many great teachers that changed my way of thinking. Three years of making new friends and discoveries that have made my time here at South Pointe so memorable. Here, at South Pointe, I evolved not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. It helped me learn that it’s never too early to find out what your true passion or career goal
“What college are you going to attend in the Fall?” “What will your major be?” What do you want to be when you grow up?” These three questions have come up in some shape or form as I was going through the college process my Junior and Senior years of high school. My answers were: “Whatever school gives me the most money. Biology. Pediatrician.” But can I answer all of these questions definitively now? Maybe. Maybe not. All I know is that, I can definitively say: “I attend Macaulay Honors College and Queens College.”
“The Early College High School will genuinely engage first-generation college-bound students to complete a rigorous curriculum, supported by technology, that is clearly aligned to student interest and state standards. Flexible coursework will be provided in a challenging and supportive environment with an applied learning focus that provides students a structure that enables them to earn their high school diploma and to overlap those efforts with those needed to earn an associate degree, leading to a bachelor degree and employment.”
I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Florida summer institute. There were some questions we were asked to answer to show our ability in the Healthcare field and to prove ourselves on why we should be chosen to attend. The first question that was asked is… Why do you want to attend the Healthcare summer institute ? I thought over about this question contemplating back and forth on why I would like to attend. In the end I came up with; I feel like if attending would better my chance of become a Veterinarian in the future I would take the opportunity over and over again. I would love the opportunity to look at the campus and see how college students live. I’ve never toured the University of Florida's campus but I have been to the equestrian area many time before and have seen a lot of
I would like to attend Kennedy Catholic High School for many reasons. One reason I would like to attend Kennedy is because of the better education as a private and Catholic school. When I shadowed at Kennedy, I noticed that there were a lot of AP class available and enjoyed seeing people were placed at the levels of their needs. Another reason I would want to attend Kennedy Catholic is because of the wide variety of sports that I am interested in such as Volleyball, Basketball, and Football. I also like that there are many clubs to join or create. Specifically, I am interested in joining or creating a cultural diversity club. In addition, from the moment I shadowed, I knew I felt comfortable being there. The kind community, diverse students,
I have been born and raised in Ramsey, Minnesota. However, because I attended Anoka high school and Anoka is super close to where I live, many times I will tell people that’s where I live. One of the reasons why I came to the University of Minnesota is because I can go home pretty much whenever I want, it’s only about a half hour drive and I can also catch a ride on the North Star train. I also have always liked being surrounded by people so I wanted to come to a bigger school to get that experience. The U has also been a dream of mine because my parents, more specifically my dad, are big fans of the Gophers. Some of the activities that I was involved in high school were S.T.A.R., Key Club, Rally Crew, National Honors Society, head managing
I know exactly what I want to be become. I want to become one of the greats, and discover things that could change someone’s entire life. I do not want to go into medicine for the money, or even the praise that would come along with being titled a neurosurgeon. I have decided to pursue medicine because I know that it will continually challenge me and push me past my limits.
The Sacred Heart School of Montreal aspires for their students to become long-life learners, and I can attest of the fact that this institution has allowed me to not only grow in terms of intellectual ability, but also in the values I respect and prioritizing the latter. I have personally practiced this goal as I have discovered my preferences as to what I enjoy doing versus what I do not prefer doing. For example, over my five years, I have gradually been more and more engaged with sports as I have realized that participating in activities that bring me pleasure is something I highly value. Plus, being surrounded by Goal number 1 “a personal and active faith in God”, has let me recognize the qualities in myself and in a friend that I value. In fact, I discovered that I hold in high regard the qualities of truthfulness, compassion, and trust. To add, I have determined that although I value my friends highly, I value the members of my family
