As I sought out to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. I saw that the organization matches my personality and what I stand for. My true passion is to make a difference in this world, I desire to make a significant impact on the lives of the youths to inspire them to reach their full potential. I know that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was established to accomplish the same things that I do, this is one of the many reasons I aspire to join this great fraternity.
What Beta Club Means to Me The main point of Beta Club is to give hardworking students a chance to serve their community and further their chances with college. This core purpose represents two of my most important ideas: working hard and helping others. I have always been a firm believer
Campus Engagement Report Astonishing, stunning, remarkable, spectacular, phenomenal: All words to describe my experience attending agriculture and biology related activities on college campus this past month. When I was assigned this assignment, I thought there would only be a few events to choose from, but after looking at the potential activities
I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
While going to school, I consitentily worked a part-time job of at least 25-35 hours a week. My boss was never too lenient with our employees requesting time off work so there was many of hours I had to explain the importance of this club to me. I honestly just wanted to work all the time and save up for my own car. My parents never made much money and if I ever wanted something in life, then I better start working for it. I knew all work and no "play" wasn't want me, my parents', or God wanted from me. Being in FBLA gave me a feeling of accomplishment that I never received in any other aspects of my life. Leadership and business is where my heart and mind
I am a perfectionist, detail oriented, and benevolent. I would like to join Beta Club to further my leadership skills and to work with teenagers my age to help fundraise for the needy. It’s important to help out our community locally. This means both actively helping out at different agencies such as soup kitchens and animal shelters, as well as helping to keep our environment clean. By working together, I think we will all be able to reach our goals and will be able to impact our community. Along the way we will help others and gain valuable life skills.
Currently, I am a member of Red Cross Club, UNICEF Club, India Club, MED Club, MUN club, and Symphony. Last year, I have also participated in the Robotics club. These clubs help me learn more about myself and my interest, my goals, and my skills. It really open up my viewpoint. By participating in all these clubs may seem very tense and demanding. In contrast, I joined these clubs because they relieve my stress. They are great ways to communicate with other students and have a lot of fun exposed to real life experiences in the fields/subjects you are interested in. Being a member of these clubs also gives opportunity to meet and network with other people with similar interests.
Personal Statement: I, Deborah Destahun, believe I would be a good fit in National Honor Society because I already uphold to NHS standards; I am: a leader, a volunteer and a dedicated person. I am committed and will show up on time in an orderly manner. Leadership Positions: A leader
So far this year, I have joined five clubs/ organizations and I find it to be extremely rewarding. I have not been able to be a part of many after school activities in past years because I was focused on keeping my grades up in Governor’s School, but now I have much more time to dedicate to other areas.
BETA Club and National Honor Society promote academic excellence and service, therefore I have helped in several events. For example, I gathered boxes filled with toys for impoverished children. Also, I helped host a dinner to honor local veterans in an effort to give thanks to those who have sacrificed everything in the name of service. Interact Club has also given me ample opportunities to help my community, from setting up a food drive to making blankets for Project Linus. These clubs instilled a strong sense of service within me and motivated me to find more ways to which to help my town.
Joining a club blind of who else was joining challenged me to interact and develop relationships with people who would have otherwise been strangers to me. This helped improve the quality of the High School experience of others and myself as it helped form bonds that will continue post-graduation. Participating in activities with these new friends from Key Club has made me a better person because these relationships have acted as training wheel in the process of associating servitude with fun. Most importantly though, the expansion of my social life through Key Club has helped me cope with the stress of
My favorite thing about Key Club is having access to many community service event. I love volunteering within my community because it is people that I can relate with them living in the same area. I enjoy helping out at the elementaries schools because I have always wanted to be a teacher and being able to have the experience of helping at a school is my absolute favorite thing. I keep doing Key Club every year because I know whenever I help out at service events I have impacted someone with the help I’ve given
1. Why did I choose to join the Greek community? Thorough out my high school career I was extremely involved on campus. Whether it was community service, philanthropy, or even just a club for fun I would always do my best to stay/get involved with any organization on campus. That is one of the main reason I choose to become a member of the Greek community. Being able to stay involved and continue to make my community better place through the Greek community has and will continue to be a driving factor in my life.
I have some experience working with people. When I was in elementary school, I sacrifices my recesses to help kindergartens get ready for lunch and get ready for recesses, and not only that but I started helping out people at a young age. When I was in the fourth grade, I sacrifices my lunch time, to help the special education
