I am always willing to going beyond the call of duty and keep improving more and more. I am always willing to going beyond the call of duty and keep improving more and more. I will not be satisfied until I am at the top. I wish to transfer schools for that very reason. To find the school perfect for me and become the very best there. I am a decisive and achievement driven student. I have a passion for leadership. I am a leader of conviction and take bold calculated risks. Success as a leader requires an understanding of the factors that shape individual behaviors. Participants in college are well equipped with an analytical toolbox of skills that helps them solve problems in all areas while advancing their own college careers. Leaders must
The reasons I have decided to go back to school is because I want to further my education to better myself as a single mother, and I want to show my children that you should never give up on your goals no matter how challenging life can be. Also, I chose to go back to school so that I can boost my son's confidence level so when he does homework, I will be right by his side doing mines whether its researching, reading, or typing papers. My ultimate goal for using this degree is to receive additional pay through my employer once I have obtained my degree. Secondly, I want to expand my career in law
Hedy Lamarr was born Hedwig Maria Eva Kiesler in Vienna, Austria on November 9, 1914 to Emil and Gertrud Kiesler. According to several sources Hedy was extremely spoiled by her father as he doted on her constantly and encouraged her love of scientific exploration, conversely her mother Gertrud was reportedly much sterner with Hedy. According to Hedy and her family, Hedy’s goal was always to be an actress so it was no surprise to her contemporaries when she dropped out of school to join the theater. It’s important to note that the theater was a well-respected well-attended media outlet in Vienna at that time, the culture of Vienna was accepting and often based on the philosophy and biases expressed
Consequently, Moving schools halfway through my sophomore year was a daunting situation. However, after many years of my mother making sacrifices for our family, it was our turn to make a sacrifice for her. As I entered this new environment, I persevered, quickly going from an outsider to a leader. I revised my schedule and registered for 5 AP classes before being picked to be the science department’s Student of the Month.Furthermore, I pursued leadership when I received admittance into the school ambassador and National Honor Society programs. Finally, at the end of my junior year, I stood in front of 200 National Honor Society members and explained that I was the best choice for their next
As a transfer student at Texas A&M, I demonstrate what determination and hard work stands for through staying self-motivated to attend my dream school. Prior to the start of my education, my family and I moved to this country in hopes of escaping crime and violence, seeking opportunities and freedom. I was able to undertake my own opportunities and enrolled at a community college while also working a full time job in an effort to pursue my dream of attending Mays Business School. Every year, thousands of students apply to Mays; however, Texas A&M only accepts 100 candidates to attend their business school. Because of this transfer process, I have become a motivated, persistent and dynamic individual who strives for success.
I never imagined myself transferring, it just wasn’t part of my plan, and habitually when transformation or transitioning occur, I adapt. Usually. As my reserved personality highlights, I’ve never been one to take extraordinary risks or be bold when something isn’t quite right. But during this first year of my college experience, being bold is becoming more substantial to my success.
I am transferring for a variety of reasons. The most important reason is that I'm not happy where I am at right now. College is talked about as a place where you'll have to work hard, but also as a place where you'll have fun and experience new things and find out who you are. Yes, I've worked hard and yes, I've explored new things, but I'm not enjoying myself like I thought, I'm not happy where I am. The school I now attend doesn't offer me the opportunities that it promised me and the ones I am seeking. It is small and lacks ... Transferring is the best decision for me because I know that where I stand now I am not fulfilling my potential and I know that there is more out there for me to accomplish. I hope to gain not just an education,
I would like to attend college because I want to be successful in life, I understand it is getting harder to get a job with only a high school diploma and it is sure to get worse. My goals for the future include getting into a college with a good teaching and mathematics program, this could give me a variety of jobs and I was speaking to someone and they told me that people are looking out for women who have a degree in mathematics which will help me to obtain a good paying job.
The CES school I would most like to attend would be BYU-Idaho so that I am able to gain a better education and do great things like my siblings before me. I would also like to attend there because it will allow me opportunities that I wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. BYU-Idaho also contains the schooling I will need in order to become an elementary teacher without going through a longer process than most colleges. I also agree with all the honor codes and the way the school system is set up so that you are able to do what is needed. I also strongly support the religious side of college and think that is a really great part being able to be with people who mostly have the same standards.
I decided to go back to school for many reasons. First of all, it's always been a personal goal of mine to get a bachelor's degree. Over the years, I have taken courses to get close to that goal but I haven't been successful with completing it yet due to life experiences. Another reason I have decided to return to school is because I realize it's going to help with my career. I know getting a degree won't necessarily guarantee a promotion or raise but I believe it will provide more opportunities along the way. My ultimate goal for obtaining this degree is to use it towards getting a Master's degree.
However, I am grateful that I have been able to identify the weak points in my learning efforts so early in my academic career and also been able to implement changes to them. The way in which I study is drastically changing and I have already seen positive improvements because of that. I have reprioritized many times, focusing primarily on my studies, and finally arrived at a balance that works best with my schedule. I have learned to not be reserved and to expose myself to all that is available at this university because some of my best experiences have come from unexpected moments. Overall, I have assured myself that choosing a liberal arts education was the best decision I made because it offers me an infinite amount of opportunities, both intellectually and personally. My goals have been reevaluated after my learning thus far and I am enthusiastic to continue to pursue them throughout the remainder of my time here. Academically, I plan to graduate with a competitive skillset that will set me apart from others in the workforce and also graduate studies. The education I am receiving here is phenomenal and I wish to translate that into my future career. To do so, I strive to be involved inside and outside of the classroom to further my knowledge in all subjects. Through involvement in various organizations, I aim to become more diverse in my abilities. Along with that, I have ambition
Significance to Audience: Most of us are here because we all want to transfer to the best school as possible. And we will do whatever it
Two years ago, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona from Salt Lake City, Utah. This was hard for me because I spent eleven years of my life growing up in Utah and then I came to a new and foreign place. In Utah there weren’t many Catholic High Schools, three if I remember correctly, St. Paul’s, Juan Diego, and Judge Memorial, where all of my aunts, uncles, and two cousins went. By default, I wanted to go there because I was part of a big legacy and wanted to continue my Catholic education into High School. When my mom decided to take a new job and move to Phoenix, I didn’t know where I would go for high school. Luckily for me, my mother did some research and found Brophy. Together we agreed that I should go to St. Thomas the Apostle because it had the highest percent of their students being accepted into the good high schools so I would have the best chance of getting a great education.
I would like to hold this position because I am passionate about the Robert H. Smith School of Business and community involvement. Being that I am a transfer student, I understand the process of transitioning into the business school as a new student. I am extremely to have had peers and mentors in Smith that granted me with great opportunities to get involved and expand my network. I want to pay forward what I’ve learned from my experiences and be of service to my fellow students.
Now, most other prospective transfer students would probably describe the rest of their academic goals with something physical, something concrete. Some would list a degree they wish to obtain, others a projected graduation date. Some may be concerned with how or to what extent they are going to market and sell their labor. I like to take a much more radical approach to our relationship. Education is often viewed as a vehicle for social mobility, a means to an end. To these prospective students, the university they attend is little more than a purveyor of goods, peddling a modern-day indulgence. I have no desire to see things in such a way. When it really comes down to it, i'm not looking for a fancy diploma, a dynamic alumni network, or even a way of boosting my earning potential. If that was my goal, I would be in a much different place doing much different things right now. I know what it feels like to have ability but not direction. I know what it feels like to go and exist in the
My decision to transfer is based on several factors. Although I have learned a great deal and had some wonderful experiences at my current institution, I feel the institution I am applying to offers me more opportunities to expand my horizons and reach my goal of a future in mathematics.
