Why I write
The feelings I get during and after I write a story is the reason why I write. When I hold a pencil I feel as if it creates this connection to my ideas which flow onto the blank piece of paper of possibilities. As the words are written, an image is painted and my imagination envelopes me It takes me to a golden gateway to the world of imagination, where graphite flows onto the paper like water in a river. My imagination runs wild and creates a world where I may be the creator but the world shapes itself. As the writer enters their world of imagination they travel down the never ending hallway and takes their pick of the multi-sized colored doors. Using that door as an outlet for their feelings that have swelled up so much, their emotions and ideas burst into the empty space creating a whole new world. The world where every door leads you to a new story but not every story has an ending. Unfinished, incomplete, fragments of the never ending tale that captures you by its voice so much so that the reader does not even dare to imagine the ending themselves. Instead,

As they open the book, the cover transforms into a door which takes them to the world created by me. They see what I saw in the moving paintings and translated into written word. They take a step into my door, into the world I created. The words begin to unraveling and create the image of a woman whom you have never seen before but I painted with words. She is just sitting there, writing alone, your curiosity overtakes you and you move closer to see what she is doing. Then her face is revealed and you are taken in by the emotions. Glimmering eyes, pale but beautiful, full of thrill, emotion and life. They are bursting and swirling inside drawing you in and creates a connection, which in turn causes you to feel her every
In essence, the author is able to accomplish his style and language using two very critical tools used to refine his masterpiece. These tools at his hand are imagery and perspective. The author uses the first person perspective in order to give the readers insight to what is going on inside the head of the author. The writer utilizes imagery in order to feed the reader’s imagination so they can picture the environment. The final outcome is a unique form of both style and language for the reader to indulge
Every writer has a particular way to describe their writing. Whether they describe it as a form of telepathy like the distinguished author, Stephen King, or as a painting like the renowned author, Annie Dillard, an abundance of writers can compare their process of writing to something. Even I have some way to describe my writing, I believe it is like being an architect creating marvelous building and cities made of words. This paper is meant to explain the writing process of the two aforementioned authors as well as outlining my own writing process. By comparing and contrasting the different metaphors used by each author one can see how similar every writer is to some extent.
I care about the millions of families who have been impacted with this horrible disease.
Why do you write? Is it because you love to write or ,you have to write for a school assignment or etc. I know Stephen King writes because he loves it. Every day he is willing to block the world out and just write. He encourages others to be willing to shut a door and write in other words block the world out and get rid of distractions and just write your heart out. I found this quote to be interesting in his piece”When you write, you want to get rid of the world do you not?... When you’re writing, you’re creating your own worlds”(21,King). I love the message this sends use your imagination, express yourself through your writing. That’s what I hope to be able to achieve. On the other hand some writers write because they feel like they have
In “Why I Write” by Terry Tempest Williams, she deliberates the development and affect of writing from the mind. Through the internal destruction of emotions, the reconstructing of the words, and the influence writing has in this world, Terry Williams causes us to reevaluate the meaning of writing and how people write for different reasons. In the introduction of the story, we are given an image of the setting, and an indication of where the story will lead. “It is just after 4:00 a.m. I was dreaming about Moab, Brooke and I walking around the block just before dawn.
In the beginning a story only exists in my shifting imagination, until I know what I want to say, and can put it on paper, with a pencil. As the words materialize, they become real and take on a life of their own, they exist on their own; only the choice
A successful writer is he who is able to transmit ideas, emotions, and wisdom on to his readers. He is cable of stirring emotions and capturing the reader's attention with vivid descriptions and clever dialogues. The writer can even play with the meanings of words and fuse reality with fiction to achieve his goal of taking the reader on a wonderful journey. His tools are but words, yet the art of writing is found in the use of the language to create though-provoking pieces that defy the changing times. Between the lines, voices and images emerge. Not everyone can write effectively and invoke these voices. It is those few who can create certain psychological effects on the reader who can seize him (or
I believe that teachers shouldn't have more rule over helping children do their homework than their parents or guardians. My reasons are parents have the ability to help the kid with emotion. My second reason is parents can help their own kids do their homework. My third reason is parents can make time and will make time.
Lee Greenwood said, “And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” Everyone in America should be proud that they live in a free country. These rights occurred due to the men who died while honoring the country. The America I believe in is giving us the power to be free and to speak.
CONTENT AND FORM The mystery of what urges writers to write, and then to write the kind of stories they do is an old enigma. I feel writing is a journey to self, Joan Didion aptly says: “I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear” (Didion 1976: 18). This isn’t the only reason most writers write, and this essay explores the other reasons, mostly it demonstrates the challenges of writing fiction that required imagining emotional pain and creating traumatic events.
The fifth reason is because they have a philosophical desire to die. The decision to commit suicide is because of some terminal decision that has little hope to get cure. They often look at their choice to commit suicide as a way to take control of their destiny and alleviate their suffering, and only can be done by taking their own life away. The last reason is because they made a mistake in their life. This is a recent, tragic phenomenon in which typically young people flirt with oxygen deprivation for the high it brings and simply go too
One of the reasons that I run is because it brings physical and emotional benefits to my life. Even though running could be boring, lonely, it could hurt your feet like crazy and above all there are not immediate results for losing weight, I love it. Running makes my life complete, when I don´t run my days are longer and I get tired very fast. My days start very early in the morning when is very dark and I go to the gym to warm up. As the sun comes out, I go to the park where there is a beautiful lake that could go as far as to Kendall Drive from the Tamiami Airport. Sometimes is cold, sometimes is hot depending on the day but when it rains the only place to go is under a bridge which are many. Music is a most for me, especially if is Latin,
Many pilgrims in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales held a religious position. Some of these people’s personal ideas have caused debates and criticism over Chaucer’s opinion of the Catholic Church. Critics have discussed the ideas that were presented both subtly and openly. Two of the pilgrims and their tales will be discussed: the Prioress and the Pardoner. Both of these tales offer points of criticism in the Catholic Church.
As we acted out the story in a flurry of crepe paper covered characters, I recall being entranced by how my fellow students and I were immersed in the story we were creating. There was an energy there that made it feel like we were kids again playing out our adventures in the backyard or the forest at the end of our cul de sac.
The statement that I concur with is on page 21 when the textbook calls the Bible “the most influential book”. The Bible is indisputably the most crucial and pivotal book of all time. Merely the fact that the Bible was written over a period of about 1,500 years by over 40 different authors and contains completely honest accounts and not one contradiction is astounding. But once the astonishing number of lives that the Bible has transformed is added to its repertoire, there can be no dispute that the Bible is and will forever hold the place of utmost prominence. The textbook does have another statement that I do not agree with, namely the passage in which it suggests that Moses created the first commandment in order to unify the people of
