As we all remember and recognize 9/11 today, please remember that the day started just as many of our day's today will start. People are heading to work, children to school or you're home running errands. No one could've ever expect such a normal beginning to a day to be remembered as national day of mourning for so many innocent lives lost. Many of us know someone who experienced a lost loved one, so as you begin your day today, tell the people in your life how much you love them, hug your child just a little longer and be thankful for all you have. You never know what chain of events can occur that will impact your daily life. The 9/11 attacks on the U.S.A has forever changed our way of living, so please never forget the tragic events of
The most obvious change sense 9/11 is U.S airport security and regulations. One of the biggest reasons why 9/11 was such a success for the Al-Qaeda group hijacking of the planes was 100% the airports unsuccsessful security. They were able to board the planes and go through metal detectors at the checkpoint. Thats why just a few short months after 9/11 occured the United States declared the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is improving public safety while traveling through major transportation areas like airports. Many major airports have TSA, meanwhile some not so large airports have private agencies that are similar to TSA. Americans have had to undergo significant changes in their travel habits and this change seemed to be the
As we get older and more evidence is presented, the significance of 9/11 becomes more clear. In one moment, an entire nation was shook. The planes that crashed into the Pentagon, Pennsylvania, and the World Trade Centers where carefully planned by a group of terrorist. I coincide with you when you stated that it should have been a wake up call to America. Tons of events have happen before and after 9/11; however, America is still un-woke. Tragedy is suppose to bring a nation together but our tragedies seem to always divide and conquer us. I pray that America wakes up before it is to late.
For example, photographers could have documented buildings that existed but have been destroyed, like the World Trade Center. The World Trade Center was built in 1973 but was sadly destroyed in 2001. Many images have been taken of those buildings and civilians can look back on those pictures to remember how the buildings looked before the attacks, as well as during the attacks. In this case, the pictures from the devastating day in September of 2001 represents a horrid historical event that people still pay their respects to, to this day.
What I think is the most significant historical event that has happened during my lifetime is 9/11. Even though I was two years old at the time, it still took a giant toll on America as a whole with its sense of security and the affect it had on the economy. 9/11 was a series of 4 adroit terrorist attacks by Al Qaeda, an Islamic terrorist group, on the United States on September 11, 2001. The attack targeted symbolic United States landmarks such as the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In total, 2,996 people had died and caused at least $10 billion in property and infrastructure damage. It was the most deadly incident for firefighters and law enforcers in the history of the United States. The U.S. was suspicious
The first image I choose was the picture of the American flag with the words “Never Forget” underneath it. I choose this because 9/11 was truly a horrific that should never be forgotten. We should never forget the people who died in the attack and the people who died trying to save people caught in the debris. The second image I choose was the picture of the 9/11 memorial. The 9/11 memorial has the names of everybody who died in this attack inscribed on it. It is a place were people go to honor the dead and a place people got to remember the atrocities of 9/11. The next image I choose was the picture of the twin towers. The twin towers were the buildings that were attacked on 9/11 and are a very important detail in remembering the event. The
The 9/11 is a historically significant event because Canada enters the war, new laws were made and there were a lot of discrimination against Muslims. To begin with, 9/11 has a great impact on Canada entering the war. According to Dubreuil, by the time the Canada's elite Joint Task Force 2 operation ended, 40,000 Canadian Armed Forces members had served in Afghanistan and 158 soldiers had lost their lives. (Dubreuil, 2015). Canada played an important role in conducting peacemaking operations of the removal of the Taliban regime. The operations included providing political and strategic advice to the civilians of Afghanistan, promoting human rights, reconstruction, health care systems and development missions with Afghan Government. Additionally,
The focus of our intelligence agencies to gather as much data as possible is completely wrong and has had lethal consequences, from 9/11 to 7/7 to Paris, Brussels and Nice. You don’t need all the data about everybody in the world to discover and react to threats. If you do try to gather such vast volumes of data, you flood your analysts, decision makers and police with garbage. They need the right data and they need it in time. The only way to get there is by upfront filtering for targets, which can be done through metadata – information about the sender, recipient and receiver of an email or phone call. That, in turn, has a nice side-effect: it gives privacy to more than 99% of people who are not known targets or demonstrating behaviour that
This day impacted our nation and communities. 9/11 made us aware that anything bad could happen like this again, so we became a more secure nation. Especially at airports, we have scanners, police dogs, and extra security to check every passenger before boarding a plane.
Today is the 26th of November, 2016. Every year, this day holds a very special place in my heart. 8 years ago today, the 26/11 terrorists attacks took place in Mumbai. I still remember the day it happened, I remember that moment, that flashbulb memory, the way I felt. Every year on this day, my family takes a moment of silence for the victims of these attacks. The people who lost their lives, those who lost loved ones and most importantly, for those people that sacrificed their lives for their country. Even though its been 8 years since it actually happened, it honestly feels like it happened yesterday. That is one thought that I have every year, because the memories that circle this incident are very significant to me and my family.
We’re almost in to remember the horrific tragedy on our America soil that resulted in 3,000 people lost their lives and 2337 were injured, 343 firefighters and 75 police officers were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon.
September 11th, 2001. All I have to do is say that simple date, and a hundred words could rush throughout your mind. Grief. Courage. Hatred. Death. Terrorism. This date hits a soft spot in many people’s hearts around the world. I don’t even need to tell you the events that happened on that day because you have been told so many horrific stories from people who saw it happen live on the news, or you were there in the flesh or are part of the families who were so devastatingly affected by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Nearly three thousand dead, and revenge was soon to come from our ailing country.
September 11, 2001 was a very traumatic day. After watching Flight 93, I realized that there are so many things in this world to be thankful for. We never know when the last time you see someone, really is going to be the last time. Death is unexpected and it’s crazy how fast something can be taken from us. That’s why I am constantly reminding myself that there are more than enough things to be thankful for. I am thankful for all of the men and women who risk their lives to protect us, for the education and privileges that we have that other countries don’t offer, and most of all, I am the most thankful for my family and every one of my friends.
Thank you to my hero son on this significant day for his contribution in defending his country. Thanks to my daughter for her great job in helping the Veterans in the hospital. I'm thanking God every day fr allowing me to see my children in becoming great professional and their contribution for the benefit of a better society that is the greatest gift that a mother could received from her children. Thank you both
I'd like to take a moment to remember all of the heroes who risked and/or lost their lives 15 years ago today in one of the worst national tragedies to ever take place. Please pray for all the families who lost loved ones and each of the first responders who gave their lives to serve this great
On September 11th, 2001 the world trade centers came tumbling down. I was only seven months old. The World Trade Center attack was a devastating, and horrific attack. This horrendous attack claimed the lives of 2,996 people. As a nation we celebrate the lives lost every year, on September 11th. However, for the family they do such
