115 Million animals die each year in scientific laboratories at universities and other research industries.Do you want to add to that number or fight the cause.Pharmaceutical industries murder an unimaginable number of animals through animal experimentation.
For starters, the experiments on animals are just plain cruel. And, most of the time unnecessary. For instance, in the book it states that “the researchers pulled out the dogs teeth and replaced them with implants”.this is important because later on in the article it states that “the dogs died after 8 weeks” and that the “implants were being used to find a cure that was already around”and that “the test same could have been done on humans that lost their teeth naturally instead of ripping out dogs teeth violently”.A little animal testing is good but not when it is this violent and unnecessary to the animals. In conclusion, animal testing is cruel and unnecessary to animals.
To begin with, why is it done? Animal testing is done to protect humans from bad products that may hurt them, also to find ways to cure diseases that haven’t been cure yet. 95 percent of mice and rats are used for research. Mice represented the largest increase in research with their numbers going from 1.2 million to nearly 1.9 million in that period. Other animals also saw increases (Qtd animal experiment up to 73 percent, study says). Other animals that are used in research are rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, farm animals, fish, and insects, and also less than one percent cats, and dog’s area also used for research. Another reason is to treat injuries and learn more about the animal bodies to find the similarity to the human body (qtd. animal research). Animal testing is inhumane when testing to protect humans. Some people say testing on animals are life changing experiments and with the help of animal experiment can discover blood transfusion, kidney dialysis, and gene therapy for example cystic fibrosis and types of cancer( Coster 7). Others think experimenting on animal is cruel and they suffer a lot. It is true
Have you ever wanted to go into space? Well, many animals did during the beginning of the Space Race and it was very necessary. This was because we did not know if we could even survive in space. We also did not have the technology to figure it out digitally. Another reason why it was necessary was that we had many questions we wanted questions for on how our body would react in space. With these 3 reasons and evidence to go with them, I will show why sending animals into space was necessary.
In conclusion, animal testing, is cruel to animals and very dangerous because of its unreliability. It also i just morally wrong these poor animals live in stress, fear, and pain and is forced upon them without their consent. It is largely inconclusive because animal anatomy is different from human anatomy; results of testing cannot be said to mimic the results in
Animals can be burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused as a result of testing. And the list could go on forever. The way animals are being mistreated and tested on should be against the law. There is a different ways to do research other than killing and abusing animals. There are many alternate test that scientist can use to do there research without harming animals. Alternative test are defined as test that use the three “R’s”, a test that replaces a procedure that uses animals with one that doesn’t, a test that reduces the number of animals used in a procedure, and test that refine a procedure to cause less pain to the animal.(11 Facts about…)
Every year over more than one hundred million animals are killed in labs for experimental research,
Being unsupportive of animal rights is utterly inhumane and is the equivalent of murder. The controversial idea that animal rights should not be supported is completely ignorant and simply, it does not benefit you or our society. The cruelty of animal testing as it stands can be eliminated only if we all support animal rights. Extensive amounts of money can also be saved as animals are very inefficient test subjects with results showing complete inaccuracies. How tragic to think that we could earn absolutely no benefit from the death of an animal because of failed testing? Our world is extremely precious, and by supporting animal rights we can transform our world into a better place.
According to a 2017-18 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association about 85 million families in the United States own a pet. In most homes pets are treated like a member of the family. But what if that family member was legally allowed to be burned, shocked, poisoned, starved, or forced to become addicted to drugs for research? Most people would be heartbroken and outraged! But that is what does happen to the millions of animals that are used in animal testing in the U.S. every year. Animal testing is wrong because it is cruel and inhumane to the animals and because animals make poor test subjects for testing on products or drugs that will be used for humans.
Did you know animal testing is really bad for animals? People burn, poison and shock helpless animals everyday just so they can collect a tiny bit of data. Why would people waste their time everyday abusing animals? We need to stop this kind of research because animals are getting brutally hurt, it is happening illegally and is often unregulated, and also most animal testing is ineffective on humans.
*Screech* the animals barely make out as they are being ripped out of their cages knowing they will soon be put through more. AS if last time it wasn’t enough. Is this what we want to put animals through anymore, or are we just going to keep them suffering? An issue that is commonly debated is about animal testing and whether it is good or bad. Others may agree that it is beneficial, but in fact animal testing is cruel and should no longer be tolerated. First of all animals are not humans, we are different creatures with different ways of life and conditions. Another reason is that there are many deaths all together and what happens after the testing is done, is horrible. After all there are many alternatives, this is not the only thing that
The article’s main argument consisted of animal testing is really unreliable and unnecessary. To support their argument that animal testing is unnecessary it provided research studies that were done in the 1960’s. The research study consisted of scientist forcing animals to breathe tobacco smoke to prove that they would not develop lung cancer. Since the animals did not develop lung cancer, scientist concluded that humans would not develop lung cancer as well. Tobacco companies took advantage of this study and persuaded their consumers to keep buying their products. Consumers bought the products and eventually developed lung cancer. The article argued that animals and humans react differently to chemicals since every species has different organs.
Animal testing has been a controversial topic discussed by many people over the past decade. There are many organizations that are trying to ban the use of animal testing because of the cruelty us humans are doing to innocent animals and the pain and suffering these animals go through. The first organization I found when researching was PETA (People, Ethical, Treatment, Animals). From my research, this is the largest animal rights group founded so far. Their main office is in Norfolk, VA. They are not only fighting animal testing but animals for the use of food, clothing and entertainment. This organization has donated over a million dollars to find non-animal testing methods. Another organization I found was PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine).
A quote from an experimenter showed his view on animal testing “Because the animals are like us.” Experimenters were asked why it is ok to test animals the answer would be “Because the animals are not like us.”
According to the BBC “2.73 million experiments in the months of 2002”(). The issue of animal testing affects the animals being tested on and could affect citizens too. I disagree with animal testing because it hurts the animals being tested on and there are alternatives to it, for example in vitro testing. This issue is important because if animals go extinct then the animals that help our environment will all die, and then we will have to put in more work and more money to clean up or fix it. I would like animal testing to be banned or more strict. Examples of this would be changing the Animal Welfare Act, make the inspectors be more strict on violations, or ban animal testing.
Animal testing has a long history, with great minds such as Aristotle and Copernicus partaking in order to further their research. Scientists have used animals for biomedical research to help further their limited understanding of anatomy and physiology for thousands of years. It could be argued that the use of animal testing in the past has led to the current level of understanding and medical research that has saved many lives. However, the techniques used by Aristotle and others should now be considered antiquated. There is technology available today that makes animal testing unnecessary, but greed has caused major companies to continue testing on animals because it is less expensive than investing in cruelty-free methods. Animals are also used for cosmetic testing, to find which ingredients and makeup and cosmetics can cause irritation to consumers. Besides the fact that there are other methods available to find harmful ingredients, testing on animals to further societies own vanity is cruel and
Mood disorder refers to the destruction or disturbance of the mood. Firstly, this paper will explain the causes of mood disorders using psychological and sociocultural factors followed by the arguments of the strengths and limitations for each factor.
