Animal Testing and Solutions
In the 1950’s, sleeping pills were made, and they were called thalidomide, which caused about 10,000 babies to be born with a condition called deformities, and before it was given into the world it was tested on animals, it had failed. Animals have to suffer, in pain just because we need things like medicine, and products that we use in our everyday lives, and I say this is wrong because it’s just like discrimination and cruelty which is still happening in some places of world today , and it should stop!
Animal testing is wrong, and it should be fixed because...
Animal testing has become crucial and we have to take extreme measures to protect the animals by “buying cruelty free products, We can push government agencies to stop funding on animal testing, We can encourage companies to replace animal testing, we can urge health charities not to invest in dead-ends tests on animals, and last but not least we can even stop dissection in class”-

A major issue that is happening all over the globe is animal testing, it’s cruel and inhumane because animals suffer in pain. From the book Rights For Animals by Deirdre Rochard it said “Most people believe that animal rights should extend as far as

The Five groups that are helping us are European Coalition, Peta, Center for alternatives to animal testing, Coalition for consumer information on cosmetics, and last but not least Physicians committee for responsible medicine. - Info came from-(5 Awesome Organizations Fighting To End Animal Testing by Stephanie Sindicich, pg 1), these organizations are really helpful, because they are trying to replace animal
Question: What if people were kept in captivity, forced to eat certain things, and get skin injections on a weekly basis? People do not deserve to be treated that way, neither do animals. Scientists are treating animals cruelly due to drug and cosmetic testing. Animal testing is wrong because it is harmful to animals, expensive, and not always accurate.
An issue that is hotly debated is about animal testing. It is clear that overall animal testing should not be allowed. It shouldn’t be allowed because animal testing does not even do much to the humans, because it can hurt or kill the animals, and finally because these animals that are being tested aren’t being protected the right way. Even though that other people could say that animals are a great replicate of humans and can develop cures. Also they could say that it helps less people get sick, it kills the animals by the scientists not protecting them. Overall animals shouldn’t be tested on.
Animal testing with products has been completely banished in Europe. The move to America can be next. Starting the movement, Europe has banned animal testing on “finished cosmetic products in 2004” and has a second ban on “animal-tested ingredients which started four years ago” (Kanter). Although this does not completely stop the unethical animal testing we humans participate in, it’s a start. Europe now has banished all products that have been tested on animals(Kanter); they’re a pretty large continent to lose, but they must have known it was the most humane act to do.
When visiting an animal shelter, petting the beloved family dog, or seeing a funny cat video on Facebook, it’s hard not to melt at the sight. Who could ever harm such cute, innocent creatures? It may be hard to think of how that could be possible, yet many companies have no problem hurting animals for their own benefit. Medication brands spanning the U.S., China, Germany, Canada and more test their products on animals daily to approve them for human use. Cruelty Free International and the Dr. Hadwen Trust states that at least 115 million animals may be used in experiments worldwide each year. The experiments administered to the poor animals are cruel and unethical, ranging from breeding them with the purpose of inducing mental illnesses or skinning them raw and injecting them with electrodes and chemicals. Furthermore, research has proved that the results are so unreliable and faulty that the testing is not even necessary. Evidence has proven that animals are subjected to unimaginable horrors during animal testing for the purpose of advancing the modern medical world, yet the entire operation is unnecessary for several reasons.
If rabbits could speak, they would probably tell you to stop supporting many of your favorite companies. Even your most trusted household brands, such as Maybelline, Arm & Hammer, Listerine, and even Lysol contribute to the millions of innocent animals subjected to cruel and wasteful product testing every year. These and many other widely popular brands implement animal testing during the production, modification, and design of their products. This testing is extremely dangerous to animals and in some cases humans as well. In spite of this, products American citizens use on a daily basis come from companies that test their products on animals and the consumers of these products are virtually blind to the evils that lie behind them. Animal testing is immoral and should be abolished because it tortures innocent creatures, is an ineffective method of testing a product, and is far more expensive than the alternatives that exist.
Being unsupportive of animal rights is utterly inhumane and is the equivalent of murder. The controversial idea that animal rights should not be supported is completely ignorant and simply, it does not benefit you or our society. The cruelty of animal testing as it stands can be eliminated only if we all support animal rights. Extensive amounts of money can also be saved as animals are very inefficient test subjects with results showing complete inaccuracies. How tragic to think that we could earn absolutely no benefit from the death of an animal because of failed testing? Our world is extremely precious, and by supporting animal rights we can transform our world into a better place.
Every year, ten to one hundred million animals are tested on. Rats and mice were two-thirds of that total. In addition to that there are one hundred and eighty thousand dogs, fifty five thousand cats, five hundred thousand rabbits, a similar number of guinea pigs, and sixty thousand primates. With these numbers why still test on animals? Animal testing needs to stop. It is wrong. These animals are dying from neglect and harsh conditions. Animal testing is not even one hundred percent accurate! People have talked about the pain and the conditions they had lived in during the breeding experiments during World War Two. Again, why is animal testing still a thing?
In the United States over 100 million animals are use for animal testing they treat them in a cruel way. However, these creatures suffer many damages and the problem is that they cannot defend themselves and if we still consuming products that includes animal testing this plague is never going to end. Some of the main reasons why we should stop buying products that they use animals for testing are because of the physical pain they cause to the animal, animals’ rights are violated when they use them for research and, the mental damage you cause to the animal if they survive.
Animal testing has been a controversial topic discussed by many people over the past decade. There are many organizations that are trying to ban the use of animal testing because of the cruelty us humans are doing to innocent animals and the pain and suffering these animals go through. The first organization I found when researching was PETA (People, Ethical, Treatment, Animals). From my research, this is the largest animal rights group founded so far. Their main office is in Norfolk, VA. They are not only fighting animal testing but animals for the use of food, clothing and entertainment. This organization has donated over a million dollars to find non-animal testing methods. Another organization I found was PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine).
Many of the products we use everyday are being tested on animals. Many don’t give a second thought to what is being done to these animals to produce these products. The animals that are being used for research are treated inhumanly and aren't given the proper care that they are suppose to be given by law. Many of the animal handlers take advantage of the fact that these animals can’t express how much pain that they are causing them when being used as test subjects or being kept in small cages. There are those that believe animals don’t have rights but little do they know that any living thing has as many rights as humans do. The Animal Welfare Act needs to be better implemented to combat animal cruelty because the current law is not being
Everyday cosmetic products that many people use, such as lipsticks, shampoo, face wash, etcetera, are verified to be safe using animal testing. Chemical burns and other short term ailments are very serious concerns that plague Americans and the knowledge that the products they use will not harm them and their families is possible because of animal testing. Also long term effects, such as cancer, have been discovered through animal product testing and promptly stopped saving countless lives. “NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS YOU’RE THE GUINEA PIG” (Source C). Living day to day with the risk that the products trusted to use on your children and yourself is enough to validate
Did you know animal testing puts antidote for human in animals bodies and they might never work? The more they put human antidots in animals bodies the more they put animals in danger. It's clear that animal test is harmful to the animals because the reaction to drugs in an animal's body’s are different from the reaction in our bodies because of all the different kinds of animals. Also human illness will never be seen in animals. Last replacing animal testing does not mean we're putting human patients at risk we could test on other things like our cells.
A quote from an experimenter showed his view on animal testing “Because the animals are like us.” Experimenters were asked why it is ok to test animals the answer would be “Because the animals are not like us.”
Imagine hearing a story on the news, “Women held captive, experimented on, and later killed.” Most you would be horrified to hear of such a thing, yet when you hear that this exact scenario happens to over 115 million animals every year, the same emotions are not felt. Every year 115 million animals are killed in the name of scientific research. Animals lose their lives to further advance humans. Not only is the practice of animal testing cruel, it is also ineffective. It is now thought by many researchers and scientist that animal testing is ineffective. This is since many animals react differently to products than humans. An article as far back as 2006 shows that 90 percent of medications approved for humans after animal testing, proved to
Animal testing is an extremely controversial topic because it deals with delicate matters and matters of humanity. Animal testing is intended to help consumers buy safe and healthy products, but they are torturing innocent animals by doing so. People that are in favor of animal testing usually are also advocates for medical research and progress, though there have been other proven methods of research. But they don’t think of it as tormenting and killing animals. On the other hand, a lot of people are compassionate about animals and think that testing on them is inhumane. These advocates of the animals think that an animal’s safety should be put
