The Gestapo and SS are a secret police force that Hitler made in the early 1933 and they helped him to stay in power and arrest anyone else that tried to stop him and compromise his role as president of Germany. During the years leading up to World War 2 while the Nazis were in power they controlled the education of children to study war tactics and Nazi theology, they also made the schools more disciplined. Hitler had no opposing political groups because he had changed the laws in his favour so that Hitler could dictate the German people. Hitler used most of the National Guard and turned most of Germany into a militarised country so that there would be no civil opposition like ryots and political disturbances throughout the time that Hitler was in control over Germany. The main job that storm troopers did was exterminating Jewish people in Germany and small towns that they took over when the war started. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/higher/history/nationalism/nazi/revision/5/ [Accessed 22 Jul. 2015].
