In overcoming the challenges along the way of the mission from launching to impact to egress, it has allowed scientists and organisations such as NASA to gather more information about the nature of the Mars, from the climate to the geology of the planet. The outcome and findings of this mission has been a success and influential in the way we explore other planets to find the possibility of past and/or present life on that planet. The rovers had discovered fluid and other deposits on the surface of the planet, which may indicate that life can survive on this planet. The uncovering of these physical environments has shaped the method and processes undertaken on other missions in order to succeed and deliver the necessary answers to the questions of the possibility of life
but the water could have harmful chemicals mars one says “ they will store 1500 liters of water in each life support unit”. The participants will have to live on what they brought with them. The mission to Mars is already estimated to cost 6 billion dollars. They would have to bring their own food and water. To conclude people may die from the lack of supplies.
It is an extremely well known fact that humans need water to survive. There is dry ice on Mars , though if that evaporated it would only make the atmosphere thicker. There is a way to use urine as water, though that is certainly disgusting water, and you would be expected to drink that water everyday if you were in space. Mars has an average temperature of minus eighty-one degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore humans should never colonize Mars under these circumstances.
Mars has been an interesting planet to mankind for years now, and scientists have decided to take things into their own hands. They are making plans to put people on Mars to have them live there. Consequently, they would need to face many problems during the period of time preparing for the journey to mars. One of the many problems they would have to face, for example, is: How will they get food, water, or air? Well, you’re about to find out. In Jennifer L Holm’s fictional story, “Follow the Water”, she uses facts about Mars to help you imagine some of the problems characters would have to face, and how they would be able to fix them in reality.
Supporting Material: Jpl.nasa.gov. released an article titled “Mars Ice Deposit Holds as Much Water as Lake Superior” on November 22, 2016 stating that, “Frozen beneath a region of cracked and pitted plains on Mars lies about as much water as what's in Lake Superior, (largest of the Great Lakes}.
Mars is the fourth planet in the solar system, and is one of four terrestrial planets that includes Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Mars began its formation 4.6 billion years ago, along with the rest of the solar system. On the surface of Mars, there are large channels that appear to have been carved out by flowing water. Although nothing is certain, there is overwhelming support for the idea that Mars did in fact have flowing water on its surface. There is strong evidence to prove this, hence the channels, but if Mars did have water, where did it all go? Today, Mars is much too cold for water to exists. There is no atmosphere to contain the water if it did exist, so it would go straight from solid ice to water vapor, never reaching its liquid stage (“The Case of Missing Mars Water,” 2001). One theory for the disappearance of water on Mars
NASA’s Curiosity team made history by drilling into ancient rock beds on the planet Mars. This was the first time in human history that such a feat on another planet has ever happened. The Curiosity rover robotically manned by a team from earth chose a basin known as “Yellowknife Bay” to begin its first drilling. The goal for Curiosity will be to enter the basin, obtain a foreign sample of rock and analyze the rock sample. This sample will be chemically analyzed to identify what elements it was composed of and if any organic molecules are still present. This is critically important because the obtainment of this sample may shed light in regards to the existence of water on Mars.
Would you believe me if i said there was water on mars, probably not, so i´ll explain, Nasa (
Scientists agree that water used to flow on Mars. This is due to the presence of ancient dry riverbeds on the surface, discovered in the 1970s. In recent years, more evidence has appeared of past surface water, such as images of small gullies and water eruptions. Water ice beneath the surface of Mars has been definitively found by the Mars Phoenix Lander. And lately, researchers have claimed that Mars used to have many shallow oceans, although its validity is unsure. The source of this water is believed to be the permafrost below the surface melting. Mars' topography resembles earth, suggesting the presence of rain in the past, when Mars had a vastly different climate.
I watched “The Martian” last weekend and it’s really impressive. I never saw a movie that describes the atmosphere on Mars. “The Martian” tries to describe the real environment conditions on Mars. Even though we can learn a lot about Mars from this movie, there are some aspects that not based on scientific data and not accurate. I listed three aspects below.
According to one of the researches of the NASA, it is said that the planet Mars million years ago covered by the water and it’s much bigger from the Atlantic Ocean surface of the earth. For the latest update about planet Mars, NASA scientist have determined that a primitive ocean on Mars held more water than Earth’s Arctic Ocean, according to NASA scientists who, using ground- base observatories, measured water signatures in the Red Planet’s atmosphere and that the Red Planet has lost 87 percent of water to space. Even the scientist is still wondering, what is the reason behind why
Another way to get water from mars would be the melting of ice said to be located on the poles of mars. To make this work they would need to know for certain that there is ice on mars. They would also need to know how to melt the ice without starting a fire. Also they would need a way to separate the water from the dirt it is said to be mixed with. Additionally they would need to find a way to collect the amount of dirt it would take give the entire population
Our neighboring planet of Mars has many river valleys that show that at some points in time, millions of years ago, the dusty planet once had an abundance of surface water. The question many scientists are asking today is: What happened that made all the water dry up? We thought previously that the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere had a chemical reaction with rocks that caused it to form carbonate minerals; which made the atmosphere thin and the water dry up. The area with the most carbonate minerals on Mars is called Nili Fossea, which is at least the size of Delaware but it could be as big as Arizona. In Nili Fossea they expected to find loads of carbon, which in technicality they did, but it wasn’t nearly enough to make Mars’ atmosphere thick enough to sustain water.
on. For both these things water is needed so exploration of Mars by space probes
(SUBPOINT) Then it leads to the next question – is or was there water on Mars? The good news is yes there is. But it might not in the ideal form for living being.
