Honestly you don’t know pain until you’ve been stuck in a car with 1 gassy university student, a whiny 3rd grader, a complaining grandma and 2 overly loud parents who refuse to open the windows for 8 hours. This is my family's way of bonding. Me and my family go on road trips very often and most of the time it's too loud in the car to do a quiet activity such as listening to music or reading a book, thus being forced to join in the games of Ispy and charades. It’s helped me create bonds with my parents and siblings I never thought I’d be able to have. This is why I chose my logo for my important category to be a Van on the road, I think it accurately describes how important these road trips are to me, one of the reasons being that I would have never gotten so close to my family (people very important to me) if it wasn’t for the forced long hours together in the car. …show more content…
Another reason why I love road trips so much is because it’s literally the best way to catch up on any sleep you've missed out on, eventually when my family runs out of energy from screaming at the top of their lungs for hours, everyones tired and ready for a good nap. I cannot stress how much I love napping in the car, neck pillow underneath your head, the AC lightly hitting your face, curled up into a ball as the comforting movement of the car slowly puts you to sleep. I think a lot of people miss this part of a road trip which is very important, because their eyes are always glued to a screen. The scenery. Canada and America (the places we usually drive to) are both such incredible and diverse places with such magnificent scenery. There are so many beautiful sites like all the lakes and roads that go through forests and all the pretty skies you
Here I am captured in this irritating street where all I can do is listen to music and look at Facebook. I am waiting for cars to start moving and continue with their destination. Little do I know that ahead of me is a two hour traffic. I am already tired, bored, and furious. I cannot believe I took this road home instead of my usual route. Why do I have to try new things? I should stick to what I know. While I sit in the drivers’ sit I am still wondering why I had the bright idea of taking a new way home, a way that I had little knowledge of.
The State Fair of Texas has been a family tradition for me and my family for many years but this year I was able to pass the tradition on to my friends. The State Fair of Texas is in Dallas Texas at Fair Park and consists of multiple rides and food and most importantly the famous Ferris wheel. One of my favorite parts of the fair is all of the amazing and different kinds foods they have available to try. The people who came with me were some of my friends from college, some of which who have been to the fair and some who have never been. Another fun part of that day was the drive up to the fair and back to Waco. I was the one who was driving the car so that always comes with its perks and responsibilities, still the drive still consisted of much enjoyment and laughter. A good road trip to the fair with friends needs to bring everyone closer, cause a great amount of joy or happiness and laughter, and must be with a great group of friends. My recent trip to the state fair with my friends is the perfect example of a road trip with friends due to all of us becoming a lot closer to each other, the great enjoyment and happiness of our group of friends, and the group of friends that made it such an amazing and unforgettable trip.
American culture has projected itself onto the automobile, imparting a sense of Manifest Destiny. In a car, the driver owns the road. Driving is an entitlement, a privilege, a right. The driver creates his or her own social space within the car, which becomes a symbolic boundary between the self and Other. Only friends, family, and
My car pushed me to further my goals and enhance my learning within Miami Dade College and to be productive with my work schedule. I always wake up early to take my grandmother to her job, and then attend class and after that go to my job which is exactly thirty minutes due to traffic. Happiness is my name on my weekend job that makes me go to parties making bright smiles like the sun in Miami, and while I am sitting on Brandon, I see how he shines like an emerald stone. As I started my way to my weekend job as a clown, the motor sound was feeding me motivation that I were achieving my dreams. Not to mention that Brandon allowed me to carry the tools I needed such as speakers, games, face paint, and costumes. For this reason, working as a clown could not be possible without the help of my prized possession.
The flight would be much faster, but we wouldn’t have much of a family experience Driving would be more family oriented, but will add more than 7 hours to travel. We decide to drive a motorhome. In my opinion, the drive was more memorable than the actual trip. We played games, watched movies, and just bonded as a family. The Buc-cee's stops to get Icee’s and snacks were amazing, obviously the trip was still fun filled, but the trip in the motorhome was very memorable too.
For someone to be on the road, people usually assume that they have lost hope in life, or that they were not that determine to maintain a place in our social class. Those who decided to live on the road do it for a different reason, reason that are either a push or pull factor. Someone who has helicopter parents, or having a difficult time trying to fit into society can find a reason to venture out and find self. Someone who felt like they no longer have a purpose in life, can find it by going on the road, because no one know you better than yourself. When writing a story of your life, do not let anyone else hold the pen. Just like the north star, which helped slaves find their way from slavery and captivity. In order to find true self, risk must be taken. While life on the road can seem like an act of avoidance of reality and problems, it can help someone find a purpose for life and their true self, therefore I believe that life on the road, is helpfully for those who are struggling with problems.
Road trips with the family weren’t always fun and exciting. Sometimes they could get very irritating. For instance, I remember the time when my family and I went to Indiana for Carter’s Hoop Shoot Regional Final. When we were finally about two hours away from our destination, the transmission on my mom’s GMC Acadia stopped working completely. As a result, we had to pay around 4,000 dollars to get it fixed and had to wait an extra couple days after the Hoop Shoot so it could get fixed. That trip was very stressful and made everything we did harder and a lot more frustrating.
Dozing off in a jampacked SUV during a long and tedious three hour drive from Troutdale, Oregon to Kennewick, Washington isn’t exactly how I’d like to spend my weekends, but these trips have come to represent a symbol of how hard work, grit, and determination shaped my grandparent’s lives; so that I could have a better one. Growing up until last year, my grandparents from my mom’s side were never really around, as they lived three hours away in a small city named Kennewick, Washington. As a result, my family made regular trips to visit them about every two months so that we could maintain a tight bond. I had always thought of these random visits to my grandparents as ordinary and monotonous drives to be with family, but as I have matured I’ve
There’s hardly a person alive in America today that hasn’t ridden in an automobile of some sort at some point in their life. We’re all connected to each other by roads crisscrossing roads and highways all across country, and yet few people understand how we got to this point. They simply accept their magic metal box will work when they put the key in to start their car. Long ago, this country once had a great love affair with the American Automobile, and it was a turbulent, passion filled, amazing ride.
Driving over 1,700 miles is not the most enjoyable thing to do; especially when you’re moving. It’s not so rough when you have time to stop and sightsee. But when your truck and a moving truck are full of household and personal items sightseeing is out of the question. That means stopping and stretching legs comes when a truck needs to be filled up and windows washed. The nice thing about having a teen driver is they get to experience the “thrill” of driving across country on roads and highways that are not jam-packed with cars.
The drive to Vermont was one of the longest drives I have ever been on. Other than going to Ohio and Ottawa it was the longest. It was a long time in the car that you live with everyday. It was 7 hours in the car. That was a lot of time to waist. We played a few games and listened to the radio but it was still only 3 hours in. We still had 4 more hours to kill. All i was doing was daydreaming about snowboarding. That's what I did for the next 7 hours
There is a good reason why a clean driving record is important for finding work in the trucking industry: trucking is a dangerous profession. It's dangerous because driving itself is dangerous, and truckers do a lot of driving.
If you happen to get into a crash, you should immediately pull to the side of the road and stop. If
While vacation may seem like a week away from home, traveling has so many positive aspects. Whether one travels for a few days, or for a year, it can open the eyes of many people and change their views. While on the road, people often discover who they really are and create relationships with people they will never forget. During this adventure, people learn new languages, and connect with the world in a new way. Traveling is beneficial to both a persons mental and physical health; it makes the mind more creative, and it's a great way to exercise .
