Why Is James Chadwick Important

Honor: regard with great respect. In my words honor is how we respect others, people and traditions that we believe in. Honor is a way that we will often judge if someone is good or not, but maybe we should look at some other things about the person before we judge if they are honorable or not.

James Chadwick was born in Bollington, England, UK on October 20, 1891. His parents Joseph and Anne a storekeeper and servant. James Chadwick went to Manchester's Central Grammar School for Boys. When he was sixteen he was awarded with a scholarship which allowed him to enroll at Victoria University of Manchester.

He wrote the final draft to the Maud report which inspired the U.S. government to begin the serious atomic bomb Research efforts which is part of the reason that we won world war 2. In the second world war he was the head of the Manhattan Project in England for his achievements in physics. He was a elected to the study of beta radiation in berlin. Chadwick received a knighthood for becoming very trustworthy with Leslie R Groves Jr. and viewed the Trinity nuclear test.

I think that he was a great man he has done many things for the country and for other countries. He was recognized in the science community for his Atomic theory. Until 1932 we believed that the atom was a positively charged nucleus surrounded by negatively charged electrons. James Chadwick believed that being composed of particles with a neutral electrical charge and a mass of proportion. These particles are what we now know as the neutron. Even after this the atomic theory was improved by stating that protons and neutrons are composed of even smaller parts called quarks. The atomic theory still is ongoing today.
