Why Is Lying Bad

I agree with the fact that lying is NOT okay. BUT, its also okay in certain situations. Most adults lie to their children about multiple things such as: believing there is a Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc. Some adults Some children think what they are being told is true

Lying can save you in severe situations such as life or death. Elie lied about his age and said he was eighteen instead of fifteen. “‘Your age?’ he asked, perhaps trying to sound paternal. ‘I'm eighteen.’ My voice was trembling.” (Wiesel 31). Not telling exact information to strangers about yourself can prevent bad things from happening. He told the doctor he was sick so he didn’t have to get his crown taken. His crown could buy him an extra ration of bread and soup, so he decided it’d be smart to keep it. He said he was a farmer because it could save him from being killed immediately. Lying is one of many ways that can help people survive in certain situations.

Lying is known as a bad thing, but sometimes it can be used for good. Dishonesty just depends on how you utilize it. In the story, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain you will see lying happening very often. When Huckleberry Finn lies it is usually for a good purpose. While the king and duke use it for more greedy reasons.

There are 4 kinds of lies, there is a lie in the interest of the liar, lie to protect someone, lie to cause harm, or lie by omission. Lying is sometimes acceptable because lying can protect others, it might get you out of a difficult situation, however lying can hurt others even yourself. Is it ever a good thing to lie? What about in serious situations? Nat Hocken in the short story “The Birds” lied to his children for good reasons. A few reasons for this are the following: to keep the children calm, they weren't old enough to understand, and it's Nat’s job as a parent to protect them. Lying, something most people say is really bad. Is it actually though. Lying isn't that terrible depending on how it's used. Trump is going to lose and he is going to lose badly. Many Republicans are of the belief that the polls are wrong, that the race is much closer than we think. The truth is Donald J. First, it is okay to lie when you are trying to protect someone's feelings , and from getting hurting them. What I mean by protecting someone's feelings , it is that you know something that can really hurt them. An example is when you find out something very serious happened to your family so, you lie to your siblings so they do not get worried. Two thirds said it was okay to lie in certain situations. Basically, lying is not a good thing to do, but it do not always need to be like that. Judging on something that right or wrong should base on that it is benefit anybody or bother anyone or not. Some people know as “White lie” and “Black lie”. We can state that lying would be the right thing, in case that it benefits to somebody and not bothers others at all. But if not, it can be consider as it is wrong.
