There are many inspirational public figures; people who have pledged to better their own lives or the lives of others. People who have impressed all with their motivation, determination, dedication and their concern for humanity. Although many of these leaders are forced to endure countless downfalls, they always manage to become extraordinary instead of allowing themselves to crumble under the pressure. These breathtaking individuals have not only won everyone's hearts by their various achievements, but also by their attitude and values. While they have contrasting backgrounds, Oprah Winfrey, Howie Mandel, Jessica Cox and Melinda Gates all contain the needed qualities that led them to their overall success.

After diligently working, she received a full scholarship to Tennessee State University and fortunately, her dismal life proved to only be temporary. Her highly deserved success eventually led to nationwide fame, along with a nomination for an Academy Award for the film The Color Purple, which skyrocketed her popularity. Before long, Oprah declared that she was launching her own television series called The Oprah Winfrey Show which “[with] its placement on 120 channels and an audience of 10 million people, the show grossed $125 million by the end of its first year” (biography.com).
