Why Is Resilience Important

Dear, Parents In this unit I have learnt about the importance of Resilience. I believe the most important aspects of resiliency are appreciation, optimism, and coping with stress. To be resilient is to bounce back in the face of adversity, depression, tragedy, and other sources of stress. It’s a cycle that many people get stuck in until they pick themselves back up. You experience, you feel, you fail, you hurt, and you fall. But, you keep on going anyways. Mandy Oaklander conveys that humans tend to stress over everything. Even if it’s a waitress messing up your order, or getting a “C” on a project (Guilty), and the list goes on and on. I often deal with stress at least once every month and I don’t even realize it . I see many people appreciating others, but how come most of us can’t appreciate ourselves? It’s because we believe we don’t deserve it. we would rather appreciate other who “deserve” it and not ourselves, but it doesn't always have to be like that. How can we appreciate others if we cannot appreciate ourselves? Sometimes, we believe that the universe has shaped our reality and who we really are, but I believe it’s just all in our heads. Shawn Anchor conveys that, We're finding it's not necessarily the reality that shapes us, but the lens through which your brain views the world that shapes your reality. And if we can change the lens, not only can we change your happiness, we can change”. And from reading this text we find that It’s not the way that the world makes us, but the way that we see the world. If we can change how we look at the world maybe we can change our happiness, opportunities, and happiness, opportunities, and for the better. Sometimes I find the world unfair and totally unpredictable. I find it hard to find my life “going well” when it’s hard for me to look at the bright side of things when my life just isn’t functioning the way it’s supposed to.
