The "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. is still important today because it has been one of the greatest demonstration for freedom in history. It mentions the Emancipation Proclamation which gave hope, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution promise life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for everyone which is something we don't think about towards everyone when we associate with respect until today. He says we have to learn that we are all God's children.
