What made Tupac (aka 2Pac, or Makaveli) so distinguished and legends was his abundance of talent, his spotlight amiable appearance, and the feeling that he was “real” and expressed himself freely, while backing it up with his actions. But Tupac just didn’t rap he was also a poet which set him apart from other artists and made his life much more than just rap and music. Shakur was packed with a lot of skills or tools which include, lyricist, open, conscientious, and outgoing to name a few. These skills were one of many reasons why he was successful and a high delayer before being famous and being famous. When pertaining to thought of the hip-hop production and history, Tupac Shakur is one of the first names that pops to mind. Shakur was born in the Bronx on June 16, 1971 in Brooklyn New York, and died on September 13, 1996 in Las Vegas Nevada just at the age of 25! His mother, Afeni Shakur was an active revolutionary of the Black Panther Party. She became pregnant with her son in 1970 while on bail after being accused of plotting to start an ethnicity war, Mrs. Shakur was absolved the year after strongly protecting herself in court, demonstrating a talent for speech which her son later comes to acquire. Tupac had a sister that was 2 years apart from him her name was Sekiya Shakur. William “Billy” Garland was the biological father of Tupac Shakur. Even though he was his father in blood he wasn’t actually a father figure he did very little to care for Tupac, only seeing him hardly any times up until Tupac reached the age of 5, Afeni and Tupac lost all contact with Garland. Tupac and Suge had just finished watching Mike Tyson defeat Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tupac was standing up through the sunroof while the car was stopped at a traffic light. The Cadillac containing the gunmen passed an entourage of Tupac’s allies, many of them bodyguards. Four unidentified men pulled alongside Suge’s car, fired 13 rounds, and sped away. When most people hear the name Tupac, they think of a tattooed thug, a gangsta rapper killed in a tragic shooting who only got what was coming to him, a man who lived by the gun, and who died by the gun. To gaze into the lyrics of both Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur is like living in the ghettos of New York City where violence never stops. Both of these artists grew up seeing and living a life filled with violence. Gunshots and drive-byes, death and murder were a daily occurrence. Although the lyrics of both artists are simply telling their life stories and how hard it was to grow up in their “hoods” they contain vulgar, hateful, and sexual verses that send the wrong message to their listeners. Shakur was an amazing artist of his time and still is. There are an exceeded amount of reasons why I decided to write about Tupac Shakur. He’s had a crazy life and I can’t imagine living the life he’s lived. He’s a very interesting person to research about. There are a lot of different stories, theories, experiences and lessons you can learn by learning about one person. He has a unique life nobody could ever relive. He started from the bottom and lived life like nobody else. Shakur can show you how you can start with a life with nothing, but work your way up to the top. Despite his issues of being in prison, he was the first artist to go Number One on the Billboard charts while he was in prison. On September 7th 1996, Tupac was gunned down and was pronounced dead after 6 days of fighting for his life. As an artist he spoke a lot of violence and how to be aware of the society that everyone is exposed to. He spoke to the youth and was actively involved in the group the Black Panther which emphasizes equity and black power. Tupac music had meaning and emotion behind it that most struggling people in the urban community could connect to which made his so popular because people could relate. Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the “Hood” and the unjust police. He was treated differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was beaten by the cops who wanted him to “learn his place”(Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would stand up for what he believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone win a battle that he was determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother was the same, as a loyal member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African Americans from police brutality. Tupac Shakur can be considered by some to be the best rapper to ever live. The way he grew up led him to be one of the best hip-hop artist of all time. His entire career he was influencing different groups of people and expanding his music to be more appealing. Tupac was the most influential rapper of all time, and there have been few people who were able to compete with him. Tupac had a lot of hero’s growing up and one of his biggest ones was Dr. Dre. When Pac rapped he talked about things that were in his daily life, people say he “changed the game” by having this style. Tupac died in 1996 and people have been mourning his death ever since, many believe he is still alive because they don’t want to accept the fact that their hero is gone. Tupac Shakur is arguably the best musical artist of all time and it is a shame that we do not have him with us today.

The party’s original purpose was to patrol African American neighbourhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality. His mom started to get more active in the Black Panthers and soon changed her name to Afeni Shakur and named Tupac to Tupac Amaru. He would then get his named changed again to his younger sister Sekiya’s father mutulu Shakur. Tupac’s life was hard. None of his fathers stood around and his family would move from shelter to shelter. His mom would soon later get addicted to crack.
